Instructions for use

Charge the Battery

  1. Charge the battery with a power adapter for the first use.
    • Note: A 5V/1A or 5V/2A USB charger can be used.
  2. Charge the battery with the Solar Panel.
    • Note: For better weatherproof performance, please always cover the USB charging port with the rubber plug after charging the battery.
  3. Show battery percentage UBox App-Me-Common settings-Show battery percentage.

Charging Indicator

  • Red LED: Charging
  • Blue LED: Fully Charged

Install the SIM Card

Insert the test SIM card provided by GNCC
This SIM card does not need to be activated, please insert it into the camera directly. We provide 300MB of free data for testing. When it runs out of 300MB of data, please top up on the UBox App or replace it with your own SIM card.

Insert your own SIM Card for the camera
You need to activate your own SIM Card for the Camera, the SIM card shall support FDD and FDD LTE. Activate the card on your smartphone or with your network carrier before inserting it into the camera.

Notes:

  • Some SIM cards have a PIN code, please use your smartphone to disable the PIN first.
  • Do not insert the loT card into your smartphone.
  • The SIM card provided by GNCC is purchased from third parties EIOTCLUB, more service support about how to top up the SIM card, please contact GNCC support [email protected]

Install the Micro SD Card

Choose a Proper Micro SD Card
Please choose a Micro SD card with the specifications below so it can be compatible with the camera.

  • Capacity Up to12BGB
  • Read and Write Speed Class 10 or higher 26Mbps
  • Format FAT32

Download and register App

Download
Ubox is available for both iOS and Android operation systems. Search the name “UBox” in the App Store or Google Play, or scan the OR Code to download the App. http://app.ubianet.com/app/ubox/

Register
Please click “Allow” or “Agree” to enable this App to access your camera and phone. This will allow you to use the APP functions normally.

Connect the camera

  1. Turn on the camera and reset it
    In the off state, insert the Micro SD Card and SIM card, press and hold the power switch for 1-25 to turn on the camera, Red led lights up, then press and hold the Reset switch for several seconds until the voice prompts “System reset”.

  2. Scan the QR code on the camera
    Blue led solid lights up and stays on, enter the “UBox App”, click “Add a device” to enter the Device List, and choose “Setup 4G Device”, and then please scan the QR code on the camera with UBox App.

  3. Add the camera
    After a successful connection, you can modify the camera’s name and location manually and then click “Next” to add the camera.

Status LED for connection in progress and successful connection:

  • Red light is always on -> red light is slow flashing > red and blue lights alternately slow flashing > red and blue lights flashing fast at the same time > blue light is always on.
  • Red light is always on and slow flashing: The system is starting up.
  • Red and blue lights alternately slow flashing: SIM card detection.
  • Red and blue lights flashing at the same time: The operator’s network is being accessed.
  • Blue light is always on: Successfully connect to the network and server.

Notes:

  1. When the camera is in standby mode, the status light is off and the default setting is to retry to access the network every 1 hour.

FAQs and Troubleshooting

Q: Can this camera work with 256GB micro SD card?
A: No, the camera can only support up to 128GB (fat 32, class 10 or above).

Q: Can I top up the offered SIM card?
A: Yes, you can top it up after entering Basic settings in UBox App. Or you can enter the SIM card number at EIOTCLUB’s official website and select the package to top up.

Q: How long can the solar panel power extension cable be connected?
A: The cable length of the Solar Panel is 3 meters.

Q: The camera was used in the US. If I take it to the EU countries, can it work in EU countries?
A: No, the US version camera is not able to work in the EU countries.

Q: How long can the battery last?
A: The rechargeable battery is 8400mAh in capacity. It lasts for around 2 months in standby mode. The battery life may vary depending on different mobile network service providers, signal strength, and other factors.

Q: Can this camera record continuously?
A: No, this battery-powered camera can only record motion videos.

Q: Can I add a user account and limit the features of a user account?
A: Yes, once one account scans the QR code to control the camera, other accounts cannot scan the QR code to control the camera. However, you can share it with friends and family through the sharing function on the app, and you can customize the permissions.

Q: Can the SIM card provided be used on a mobile phone or other devices?
A: No, the attached lo T card has been bound by the device, and it is forbidden to insert it into other devices for use, otherwise, the loT card will be locked and cannot be used.

Camera Is Not Powering On
If your camera is not starting up, please try the following solutions:

  1. Make sure the power switch is turned on.
  2. Charge the battery with a DC 5V/2A power adapter. (When the blue light is on, the battery is fully charged.)
  3. If these don’t work, please contact GNCC Support: [email protected]

PIR Sensor Fails To Trigger Alarm
If the PIR sensor fails to trigger any kind of alarm within the covered area, try the following:

  1. Make sure the battery is working.
  2. Make sure the SIM card is available.
  3. Make sure the Pl R sensor is enabled or the schedule is set up properly and running.
  4. Make sure that the PIR sensor or the camera is installed in the right direction.
  5. Check the sensitivity settings and make sure it’s set up properly.
  6. Tap on the UBox app go to Device Settings>PIR Settings and make sure the corresponding action is checked.
  7. Reset the camera and try again. If these don’t work, please contact GNCC support: [email protected]

Failed to add during network configuration

  1. Make sure the antenna is screwed tightly.
  2. Make sure the LTE signal is good enough.
  3. Make sure the SIM card is the recommended one and has been activated.
  4. If the SIM card is the one our camera supports and has been activated, please try to switch on and off the camera again.
  5. Make sure you reset it successfully before the network connection. If these don’t work, please contact GNCC Support: [email protected]

Why does the device not recognize the TF card

  1. 1ct Make sure the TF card is up to 128G (class 10 or above).
  2. Insert and remove the TF card after powering off.
  3. Please check if the TF card is working normally and whether it is in FAT32 format.

When the mobile phone or the device is working in an unstable network, the App also will prompt that the TF card can not be recognized. If these don’t work, please contact GNCC Support: [email protected]
