Always use protective equipment when cutting and installing your Allen + Roth countertop.

INSTALLATION

BEFORE INSTALLATION

  • Allow your countertop to acclimate for 72 hours before installation. Sand and apply a finish immediately after acclimating.
  • The wood may bow slightly upward at the edges if it is stored for a long period. To return the surface to its original condition, turn it over and lay it on its face until it’s reformed to its original shape.
  • Check the color and finish of your surface before installation. You cannot return or exchange the product once it has been altered or installed.
  • Keep in mind that wood is a natural material, so each surface can vary slightly in color, tone, and characteristics. This adds to its beauty.
  • Lightly sand all surfaces of your Allen + Roth countertop with 120-grit sandpaper, in the direction of the wood grain, before applying the finish.
  • All surfaces of the Allen + Roth countertop must be finished. This includes top, bottom, edges, and ends. Typical finish options include oil, wax, sealant, stain, urethanes, and acrylic.

DURING INSTALLATION

  • Reapply finish, according to the manufacturer’s instructions, to any areas that have been cut during the installation process.

FOR DAILY USE

  • Clean the countertop according to the finish manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Do not use harsh or abrasive cleansers or chemicals to clean the countertop.
  • Do not place hot items directly on the surface.
  • Avoid cutting directly on the wood, as this could damage the surface.
