Product Usage Instructions
- Before Installation: Before installing the countertop, make sure to prepare the surface by sanding and sealing or finishing it.
- During Installation: When cutting and installing the countertop, always wear protective equipment to ensure your safety.
- For Daily Use: To maintain the countertop’s surface, follow these guidelines:
- Regularly clean the countertop using a mild detergent and a soft cloth.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads, as they may damage the surface.
- Wipe up spills immediately to prevent staining.
- Do not place hot pans or pots directly on the countertop; use trivets or hot pads.
- Avoid cutting directly on the countertop; always use a cutting board.

INSTALLATION
BEFORE INSTALLATION
- Allow your countertop to acclimate for 72 hours before installation. Sand and apply a finish immediately after acclimating.
- The wood may bow slightly upward at the edges if it is stored for a long period. To return the surface to its original condition, turn it over and lay it on its face until it’s reformed to its original shape.
- Check the color and finish of your surface before installation. You cannot return or exchange the product once it has been altered or installed.
- Keep in mind that wood is a natural material, so each surface can vary slightly in color, tone, and characteristics. This adds to its beauty.
- Lightly sand all surfaces of your Allen + Roth countertop with 120-grit sandpaper, in the direction of the wood grain, before applying the finish.
- All surfaces of the Allen + Roth countertop must be finished. This includes top, bottom, edges, and ends. Typical finish options include oil, wax, sealant, stain, urethanes, and acrylic.
DURING INSTALLATION
- Reapply finish, according to the manufacturer’s instructions, to any areas that have been cut during the installation process.
FOR DAILY USE
- Clean the countertop according to the finish manufacturer’s instructions.
- Do not use harsh or abrasive cleansers or chemicals to clean the countertop.
- Do not place hot items directly on the surface.
- Avoid cutting directly on the wood, as this could damage the surface.
