Product Information
The Toyota Prius, Prius Prime Door Sill Protectors are designed
to protect the door sills of your vehicle from scratches and
damage. The kit includes front and rear door sill protectors along
with necessary hardware for installation.
Product Usage Instructions
Preparation
Before starting the installation process, ensure you have all
the necessary tools and equipment ready. Clean the application
surface thoroughly using a VDC approved cleaner and follow the
guidelines provided.
Vehicle Preparation
-
Clean the application surface to remove grease and wax using a
VDC approved cleaner. -
Wipe the cleaned surface with a lint-free cloth.

Lift up the rear of the interior scuff plate piece to disengage
clips and remove it from the door sill. -
Gently lift the weather strip from the pinch weld in the flat
area of the door sill.
Front Door Installation
-
Locate the PS Front Door Sill Protector and remove only the
front liner section without the two notches. -
Align the part using the two notches in the liner extension to
ensure proper positioning. -
Use the notches to align the part in the fore-aft direction by
straddling over the cutout in the vehicle rocker.
FAQ
Q: Are these door sill protectors compatible with older models
of Prius?
A: These door sill protectors are specifically designed for MY24
and newer Prius and Prius Prime models. Compatibility with older
models is not guaranteed.

Procedure
DOOR SILL PROTECTORS
Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation.
These guidelines can be found in the “Accessory Installation Practices” document.
This document covers such items as:· Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). · Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.). · Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). · Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.).
Please see your Toyota dealer for a copy of this document.
1. Vehicle Preparation
(a) Part and vehicle surface temperature must be maintained between 65°F and 90°F for optimum installation. Store parts flat at room temperature in a clean dry place.

(b) Clean the entire application surface to remove grease and wax. Clean
entire area with a VDC approved cleaner and cleaning method. (Fig 1-1).
(c) Wipe the cleaned surface with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. (Fig. 1-1)
(d) Lift up on the rear of the interior scuff plate piece to disengage clips and remove from the door sill. (Fig 1-2).

(e) Gently lift the weather strip from the pinch weld in the flat area of the
door sill. (Fig 1-3).

2. Front Door Installation
(a) Locate the PS Front Door Sill Protector. Remove only the front liner
section without the two notches. (Fig 2-1).

(b) The front door part has two notches in the liner extension to be used for alignment to the vehicle. (Fig 2-2).

(c) Use these two notches in the liner extension to align the part in the
fore-aft direction by straddling over the cutout in the vehicle rocker. (Fig
2-3).
(d) Align the top edges of the part to the inner radius of the sheet metal
closest to the pinch weld as shown. (Fig 2-4).

(e) With the part properly aligned, tack down the area with exposed adhesive using a squeegee (Fig 2-5).

(f) With one side firmly adhered, lift the opposite side, and remove the
second section of the liner across the front of the part (Fig 2-6).
(g) Lay the part back down on the installation surface and ensure the proper
alignment to the inner pinch weld radius. Squeegee the part down on the
horizontal surface of exposed adhesive (Fig 2-7).
NOTE: Ensure there are no creases or bubbles in the part when aligning it to
the vehicle.
(h) Use long overlapping strokes to squeegee the part down over the sheet
metal radius and onto the vertical surface (Fig. 2-8).

(i) Remove the remaining liner section from the upper portion of the part (Fig. 2-9).

(j) Starting in the center, use the edge of the squeegee to adhere the part
down into the step in the door sill sheet metal. Work from the center outward
in both directions (Fig. 2-10).
(k) Lastly, use long, overlapping strokes to squeegee the upper area of the
part to the door sill. Work from the center outward in both directions (Fig.
2-11).
(l) Reinstall the weather strip onto the pinch weld (Fig. 2-12).
NOTE: Ensure the weather strip is fully seated on the pinch weld.

(m)Reinstall the interior scuff plate piece (Fig. 2-13).

(n) Repeat steps 2(a) 2(l) for the opposite side of the vehicle.
3. Rear Door Installation (a) Repeat steps 1(a) 1(e) for the rear door sill
area preparation (Fig. 3-1).

(b) Locate the Passenger side rear door sill protector. Remove only the front
liner section without notches in the extension (Fig. 3-2).
(c) Use the two notches in the liner extension to align the part in the fore-
aft direction by straddling over the cutout in the vehicle rocker (Fig. 3-3).

(d) Align the top edges of the part to the inner radius of the sheet metal closest to the pinch weld as shown (Fig. 3-4).

(e) Repeat steps 2(d) 2(l) to complete the rear door sill protector installation.
