3M 8300 Series Comfort Respirators

Product Information: 3M 8300 Series Comfort Respirators

Product Details:
The 3M 8300 Series Comfort Respirators are designed for occupational health and environmental safety. They come in different models with varying levels of filtration, including FFP1
NR D, FFP2 NR D, and FFP3 R D. The respirators have an Assigned Protection Factor (APF) of either 4, 10, or 20, depending on the model. They meet the standard EN149:2001 + A1:2009.

Important Notes:

  • This respirator should not be used in oxygen deficient environments or for escape purposes.
  • It should not be used by people with beards or facial hair.
  • Avoid using the respirator in atmospheres where concentrations of contaminants may exceed the Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH) limit.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Cup the respirator in your hand with the nosepiece at your fingertips, allowing the headbands to hang freely below your hand.
  2. Position the respirator under your chin with the nosepiece facing up.
  3. Pull the top strap over your head and rest it high at the top back of your head. Pull the bottom strap over your head and position it around the neck below the ears. Ensure that the straps are not twisted.
  4. Place the fingertips of both hands at the top of the metal nose piece. Mold the nosepiece to the shape of your nose by pushing inward while moving your fingertips down both sides of the nosepiece. Avoid pinching the nosepiece using one hand, as it may result in less effective respirator performance.
  5. Before wearing the respirator in the work area, perform a fit check to ensure a proper seal on your face.

Fit Check Procedure **

**

For Valved Respirators:

  1. Cover the front of the respirator with both hands, being careful not to disturb its position.
  2. Inhale sharply. You should feel a negative pressure inside the respirator. If air leaks around the nose, readjust the nose clip as described in step 4 to eliminate leakage. Repeat the fit check. If air leaks at the respirator edges, work the straps back along the sides of the head to eliminate leakage. Retest the seal. Repeat the procedure until the respirator fits properly.

For Un valved Respirators:

  1. Cover the front of the respirator with both hands, being careful not to disturb its position.
  2. Exhale sharply. You should feel a positive pressure inside the respirator.

If you cannot achieve a proper fit, do not enter the contaminated area. Please consult your supervisor.
Note: The respirator should not be used with beards or other facial hair that may inhibit contact between the face and the edge of the respirator.
