How to Operate
First clean the pipe to be cut. remove any objects on the pipe.
-
Unhook the handles and open the handles & blade. Tuck the hook into the handle while operating. Place a pipe in the jaw.
-
Keep ratcheting (; open handle and close repeatedly) feeling each ratchet click until cut is completed. Wide open handle will release blade.
-
Reaming & deburring can be done using the hole on the blade. This is only for outside edge of pipe.
To properly cut old pipes or pipe in cold temperature, warm up the pipe and cut very slowly to avoid cracking or shattering the pipe.
For thin wall PVC pipe such as Class 200, flighty squeeze the handles while rotating them up and down when the blade edge just starts cutting into the pipe. This helps the blade to penetrate the wall of pipe without deforming the pipe.
Replacement Blade
Periodical replacement of blade prolongs the lifetime of tool. It becomes very
economical in the long run by doing so.
Use only the blade listed below.
- Model No. VCE0342 (Replacement blade for VC-0342)
