Use caution when servicing all types of systems. Some refrigerants are flammable or toxic. Pipes, tubes, refrigerant,s and other components of HVACR equipment can be very hot (or very cold). Skin can easily be burned or frostbitten if refrigerants and components are touched. Use adequate personal protective equipment when servicing these systems. Follow all local and national codes, rules, and regulations when servicing HVACR equipment.

Press the LOWEST VACUUM button to view the lowest vacuum measurement in the
memory
Auto-off Timer
The DVR-22 will stay on for a user-defined period of time
After the time period expires, the unit will shut off to conserve battery life
The user can select a time period of 10 minutes, 30 minutes, or 60 minutes
Using the Vacuum gauge
Attaching the Gauge to a System
- Prior to evacuating a system, ensure that there is no refrigerant in the system
- Connect a vacuum pump to the system
- Connect the vacuum gauge to an available ¼” port, or use valve core removal tools with side ports, and connect the gauge to the side port Ideally, use a side port with a valve that can be closed to isolate the gauge from the system during the charging phase
- Turn on the pump and read the DVR-22 display to view the vacuum level
Protecting the Sensor
Protect the sensor from high pressures and refrigerants during the charging
cycle Isolate the gauge from the system after evacuation is complete to
prevent damage or contamination to the sensor
Cleaning the Sensor
If the sensor becomes contaminated with refrigerant or oil, it can be cleaned
with isopropyl alcohol
- Use a syringe or squeeze bottle filled with isopropyl alcohol; use the highest percentage of alcohol that can be obtained
- Squeeze the alcohol into the ¼” fitting on the gauge
- Place a finger over the fitting and shake the gauge to distribute the alcohol and cause it to move around the sensor
- Drain the alcohol and repeat the procedure several times
- Allow the unit to dry and test it on a system
If the reading is still not accurate, repeat the cleaning process
