Timago DualTIM Pedal Exerciser
Characteristics
The lower limb pedal exerciser is made of a powder-coated steel frame. It is equipped with a pressure resistance mechanism, frame length adjustment, four anti-slip pads and rubber foot straps. The pedal exerciser has the option of changing from pedals to handles so it can be used for both lower and upper limb rehabilitation. The height adjustment feature allows for customisation to suit individual user needs. It has a rotary knob with a wide range of resistance adjustment, so it is also suitable for patients after extensive trauma. It can be used in hospitals, rehabilitation clinics and at home as a rehabilitation and personal recreation device.
Elements of the pedal exerciser:
- a. Pedal exerciser frame
- b. Adjustment knob (shorter thread) Angle adjustment knob with washer (longer thread)
- c. Counter
- d. Locking pin
- e. Pedal lock
Application
The pedal exerciser is designed for patients with contracture or muscular atrophy caused by long-term immobilization due to a plaster bandage or surgery, as well as for patients who need to restore motor functions and re- learn the correct movement pattern due to damage to the neurological system. It is possible to adjust the exerciser to the state of limb fitness and to the progress in rehabilitation owing to resistance adjustment.
Assembly and adjustment
- To assemble the rotor, join the two parts of the frame together and then twist them together using the angle adjustment knob (longer thread), placing the oblong washer beforehand.
- Insert the locking pin into the frame holes to secure the set angle of the pedal exerciser frame.
- Place the counter onto the mounting hole in the top of the frame.
- Screw the resistance adjustment knob (shorter thread) into the mounting hole in the top of the frame.
- To assemble the pedal exerciser, follow the above instructions in reverse order.
- To dismantle the counter or replace the battery in the counter, unscrew the adjustment knob completely and then dismantle the counter and/or replace the battery.
- To replace the battery, open the top cover of the counter by grasping the lower protruding part of the cover under the red MODE button. ATTENTION: When replacing the battery, all data will be lost.
Height adjustment
The pedal exerciser is height-adjustable to suit the individual user’s needs.
There are 6 adjustment holes at the base of the pedal exerciser for height
adjustment. The largest base spacing is the minimum height of the exersicer,
the smallest spacing is the maximum height.
- Before changing the height adjustment, loosen the angle adjustment knob.
- Then press the locking pin and adjust the desired pedal exerciser base spacing. After adjustment, the locking pin should lock the selected setting.
- After changing the height adjustment, tighten the angle adjustment knob.
Change of pedals into handles / handles into pedals
The pedal exerciser is used for both lower and upper limb exercises
(interchangeable). When changing the function of the pedal exerciser, it is
necessary to change the pedals into handles (or handles into pedals) according
to the following instructions:
- Unscrew the pedal lock (the locking handle allows it to be unscrewed without the need for additional tools).
- Replace pedal to handle (or handle to pedal).
- Tighten the pedal lock (the lock handle allows it to be unscrewed without the need for additional tools).
- Swap the other pedal/handle in a similar manner.
Resistance adjustment
In order to increase fitness levels and improve muscle work and muscle
strength gains, the training intensity and/or duration of exercise should be
gradually increased.
- To increase the resistance, turn the adjustment knob clockwise.
- To reduce the resistance, turn the adjustment knob anticlockwise.
- When performing low impact exercises, the adjustment knob should be completely unscrewed, whereas when performing resistance exercises, the adjustment knob should be tightened to the desired load.
Usage
- Place the pedal exerciser on the floor (lower limb exercises) or on a table (upper limb exercises). In order to prevent the pedal exerciser from moving, ensure that the anti-slip pads are firmly in place on the floor.
- Exercises should be carried out in a seated position on a stable surface. The pedal exerciser should be positioned exactly in front of the user.
- When exercising the lower limbs, the feet should be placed on the pedals inside the bands, which will prevent the foot from slipping off the pedal during exercise.
- For upper limb exercises, place your hands on the handles.
- Set the resistance using the adjustment knob.
- You can select the desired function on the pedal exerciser counter.
