TEST BATTERY
Step 1: turn off AC power to battery charger
Step 2: turn off engine or other charging sources (solar panel…)
Step 3: connect negative lead of tester to negative post of battery
Step 4: touch positive probe to positive post of battery to read battery
status.
TEST THE ALTERNATOR
Step 1: with engine running check battery voltage (as above).
TEST THE BATTERY CHARGER
Step 1: turn off AC power
Step 2: turn disconnect negative lead from battery charger at battery
(positive lead may remain connected to battery)
Step 3: connect negative lead of tester to negative post of battery
Step 4: turn on AC power
Step 5: touch positive probe to positive lead from battery charger to
read votage output of charger
Step 6: repeat process for each battery.
