VOLLRATH VOL-40702 Fan Motor Replacement Kit
Product Information
The Fan Motor Replacement Kit is designed to replace the fan motor in your equipment. It ensures safe installation and operation. Please read the following instructions carefully before proceeding with the installation.
Safety Precautions
- Electrical Shock Hazard: Turn off and unplug the equipment before cleaning or servicing. Do not clean or service the equipment unless the power has been turned off and disconnected. Avoid contact between hands, tools, or cleaning products and live current to prevent electrical shock. Do not spray water or cleaning products as it may cause component failure or electrical shock.
Installation Procedure
- Turn off the equipment and unplug it from its power source.
- Allow the equipment to cool completely.
- Remove the oven door by following the steps below:
- Open the door (B) as shown in Figure 1.
- Note the down or back position of hinge locks (E) on both sides. Ensure they are in this position.
- Place the hinge lock (E) over the hinge arm (D) on both sides. See Figure 2.
- Tilt the oven door (B) up slightly and lift it out. See Figure 3.
- Remove the shelves, thumb screws, and shelf runners from the oven.
- Remove the hardware (B) and fan cover (A) as shown in Figure 4.
- Remove the fan nut (E) and fan washer (D). See Figure 5.
- Loosen the set screw (B) and remove the fan (C).
- Remove the back cover.
- Carefully remove the ties (D) securing the fan wires. See Figure 6.
- Note the wire colors, locations, and connection points from the fan wire harness. Remove the wires from their connection points.
- Remove the nuts (B) and washers (C) securing the old fan (A). Discard the old fan and retain the hardware.
- Install the new fan (A) in the same position as the old fan. Secure it with the nuts (B) and washers (C) removed in the previous step.
- Connect the new fan (A) wire harness to the correct locations noted previously.
- Secure the wires and wire harness using new ties.
- Note the colors and locations of the wires connected to the capacitor (E).
- Remove the wires connected from the capacitor (E).
- Remove and discard the old capacitor (E). Retain the hardware to secure the new capacitor.
- Install the new capacitor (E).
- Connect the wires to the correct locations noted previously.
- Reinstall the back cover.
- Install the new fan (C) and secure it with the set screw (B), fan washer (D), and nut (E). See Figure 5.
- Install and secure the fan cover (A). See Figure 4.
- Install the shelf runners securing them with thumb screws. Install the shelves.
- Finally, reinstall the oven door by placing it into the oven (A) and aligning the arm (D) as necessary.
Please refer to the figures provided in the manual for visual guidance during
the installation process.

Installation Procedures
- Turn the equipment off and unplug from its power source.
- Allow the equipment to cool completely.
- Remove the oven door.
- Open the door (B).
- Note the down or back position of hinge locks (E). Check that both sides are in this position.
- Place the hinge lock (E) over the hinge arm (D) as shown. Repeat on both sides.Oven Door and Hinge Lock (up or locked position)
- Tilt the oven door (B) up slightly and lift the oven door out. Oven Door removal and Installation
- Remove the shelves, thumb screws and shelf runners.
- Remove the hardware (B) and fan cover (A). Fan Cover and Hardware

- Loosen the set screw (B) and remove the fan (C).
- Remove the back cover.
- Carefully remove the ties (D) securing the fan wires. . Motor, Hardware, Wires, Ties, Hardware and Capacitor
- Note the wire colors, locations and connection points from the fan wire harness. Remove the wires from their connection points.
- Remove the nuts (B) and washers (C) securing the fan. Remove and discard the old fan (A), retain the hardware.
- Install the new fan (A) in the same position as the old fan. Secure the new fan (A) with the nuts (B) and washers (C) removed in the previous step.
- Connect the new fan (A) wire harness to the correct locations noted previously.
- Secure the wires and wire harness using new ties.
- Note the colors and locations of the wires connected to the capacitor (E).
- Remove the wires connected from the capacitor (E).
- Remove and discard the capacitor (E). Retain hardware to secure the new capacitor.
- Install the new capacitor (E).
- Connect the wires to the correct locations noted previously.
- Reinstall the back cover.
- Install the new fan (C) securing with the set screw (B), fan washer (D) and nut (E). See Figure 5.
- Install and secure the fan cover (A). See Figure 4.
- Install the shelf runners securing with the thumb screws. Install the shelves.
- Reinstall the oven door.
- Carefully set the oven door (B) into the oven (A). Place the arm (D) so that it sets under pin (C). See Figure 3.
- Rotate the hinge lock (E) off the hinge arm (D) as shown. Repeat on both sides. See Figure 2.
- Carefully open and close the door to verify that it is operating correctly. If not repeat steps 28 and 29.
- Reconnect the oven power.
