Safety instructions for the user

I. General precautions during the  use of electrical equipment

  • Do not use the appliance for any other purpose than described in this manual.

  • Do not use or store the appliance outdoors.

  • Always place the appliance on to the flat and even surface.

  • This product is intended for indoor, nonindustrial, non-commercial and only for hou- sehold use. Do not use the item outdoors or for any other purpose. Misuse or improper handling may cause problems in the appliance and cause injury to the user.

  • The unit must be used only for the intended purposes. No liability is accepted for damages arising from improper use or wrong handling.

  • Ensure that the voltage indicated on the nameplate matches the mains voltage before plugging in the appliance.

  • Always remove the plug from the power socket when the appliance is not in use. Do not leave the appliance unattended when switched on.

  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is being used by or near children.

  • Before cleaning or storing your appliance, always unplug the appliance from the power supply and let it cool down.

  • The device is not completely disconnected from the power source, even after it has been turned off. To disconnect it completely, disconnect it from the mains plug.

  • The appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as
    – Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    – Farm houses and by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
    – Bed and breakfast type environments;
    – Catering and similar non-retail applications.

  • Avoid spillage on the connector

II. Restrictions on use to avoid personal injury

  • Do not let the appliance operate unattended.
  • Do not place or operate this appliance near water sources.
  • Do not place or operate the appliance and its power cord on or near hot surfaces (e.g., stove plates) or open flames.
  • Do not leave the power cord hanging from sharp edges and keep away from hot objects and flames. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
  • Never use accessories that are not recommended by the manufacturer.
  • The use of accessories not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
  • When you want to remove the plug from the wall contact, please do this at the plug itself and not by pulling on the cable or the appliance itself.
  • To avoid electric shock, make sure your hands are dry before plugging or unplugging.
  • Do not use the device with wet hands, on damp floors or when the atmosphere is humid, there is a risk of electric shock.
  • While using the appliance, make sure that the power cord must not be caught or crushed.
  • Do not let the motor unit, cord or plug get wet to protect against risk of electric shock.
  • Be careful, while handling electrical appliances, as the surface of the heating element is subject to residual heat after use. Any misuse may cause potential injury to the user and may damage the appliance.
  • Do not touch the outer surface of the appliance as it can get very hot during operation. Instead, use the handle or mitts.

III.   Product use restrictions due to poor condition or breakdown

  • Never immerse the appliance or the plugin water or any other liquid. In the event of the appliance falling in water, disconnect immediately from the mains supply and take it to an authorized service agent for repair before reusing.
  • Do not use the appliance if it has fallen on the floor, if there are visible signs of damage or if it has a leak.
  • Do not use the appliance if the cable or plug is damaged. In case of the cord be damaged, it must be replaced only by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid Hazard.
  • In case of appliance malfunction, or if it has been damaged in any manner, return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
  • In case of hardware problems, do not attempt to repair the product yourself. Repairs should only be carried out by qualified technicians.

IV. Restrictions on use when used with children and elders

  • The appliance is not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  • Caution ! Do not allow small children to play with the plastic:
    THERE IS A DANGER OF SUFFOCATION !

V. IMPORTANT WARNING

  • To avoid a circuit overload when using this product, do not operate another high- wattage product on the same electrical circuit.

  • A short power supply cord is provided with this product. An extension cord is not recommended for use with this product, but if one must be used:
    – The marked electrical rating of the cord must be at least as great as that of the product.
    – Arrange the extension cord so that it does not hang where it can be tripped over or pulled unintentionally.

  • When using an extension lead always make sure that the entire cable is unwound from the reel. Use solely CE approved extension leads and input power must be at least 16A, 250V, 3000W.

VI. Instructions to follow while using the device

  • Do not touch the surface of the appliance as use the handle or mitts.
  • Do not touch any metal parts on the exterior of the device. These can become very hot during operation.
  • Do not cover the appliance with anything.
  • Only use the unit on a heat-resistant surface. Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
  • It is absolutely necessary to keep this appliance clean at all times as it comes into contact with food.
  • It is advised to place a heat resistant coating between your table and the appliance in order to avoid any burns.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Unplug before putting on or taking off parts, and allow to cool before cleaning.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot food, water, or other hot liquids.
  • When using this appliance, provide adequate air space above and on all sides for air circulation. Do not allow this appliance to touch curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dish towels or other flammable materials during use.
  • Never use any other connector than the one provided.
  • Incorrect operation and improper use can damage the appliance and cause injury to the user.
  • Charcoal or similar fuels must not be used with this unit.
  • Use the appliance in well ventilated place.
  • Always attach probe to griddle before plugging cord into wall outlet. To disconnect, turn temperature control knob to “OFF”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Use extreme caution when disposing of hot grease.
  • Do not place grease cup, warning drawer or spatula rest on top of hot grill surface.
  • When this symbol is used, it means “Caution: Hot surfaces”

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Before first use

  1. Check the unit and all accessories carefully.

  2. Wash cooking grill, raclette pans with mild soap and water, Rinse and dry thoroughly.

  3. Clean the outside and inside of the motor part with a damp cloth and wipe dry.

  4. Before plugging in check if the product voltage is same as wall outlet voltage.

  5. Connect the appliance in wall outlet and make sure it is connected to the ground, to avoid any danger.
    NOTE: There is a protective layer covering the healing element, which incinerates when the appliance is heating up. As a result, there may be a small amount of smoke and odour when using the appliance. However, this will subside after a few times of use.

  6. Operate the appliance without food for about 10 minutes for the protective layers to be removed. To do so, set the temperature control to the position MAX.

  7. Also, you can minimize the smoke development by wiping the heating element with a slightly moistened cloth before using it for the first time.

  8. Do not use cleaning agents!

  9. Then wipe it with a dry cloth.

  10. Only switch on the appliance when it is in a completely dry state.

  11. Always ensure adequate ventilation.

  12. Before plugging in Please ensure that the temperature control knob is set to position”0”’.

  13. Only connect the appliance to a properly installed earthed socket. The red indicator light, lights up continu¬ously and indicates the operating function.

How to use raclette grill

  1. Plug in the appliance and turn the switch on; the indicator will light up.

  2. Preheat the appliance for 5 minutes before placing raclette plates on its position.

  3. Cut the raclette cheese into a 1/2 cm thick slice or buy pre-cut raclette cheese.

  4. Fill the raclette plates with cheese blocks and place it into their position.

  5. Do not fill the plates with big chunks of cheese, to avoid spilling, once it melts.

  6. Arrange deli meats on a wooden platter or chopping board, and cut it into pieces or thin slices.
    Cooking small pieces reduce the cooking time.

  7. Slightly coat the top of grill plate with little bit of oil using cooking brush and place potatoes, vegetables, meat, chicken or the food you want to cook.

  8. Let it cook for few minutes until the cheese melts and turns into light brown colour.

  9. Once you get desired colour and consistency of cheese and meat or food get cooked, turn the appliance off with ON/OFF switch and remove the raclette plates.

  10. Enjoy the raclette cheese with grilled food. Grilled food can be served with different sauces, salads and breads.
    NOTE: it is recommended to turn over the food at half way of cooking process to cook evenly.

  11. Use wooden or nylon, spoons or tongue to turn over the food, to avoid scratching of non-stick coating of grill plate.

  12. Do not use pointed objects like forks, knifes to clean the grill plate.

  13. Raclette plates can be used to toast or fry eggs, potatoes, etc.

  14. While using the oil to grease the grill plate make sure to use highly healable oil like sunflower oil as butter or olive oils can emit the smoke.
    NOTE: Ensure that the ingredients don t get into contact with the heating element From time to time, remove larger food residues from the grill plate, and the small pans, so that these won’t bum

Temperature Control knob
The temperature control knob is used to turn the appliance on, off and change the cooking temperature settings. The green indicator lamp indicates that the appli¬ance is in operation.
We can adjust the temperature control depending on the intended purpose:

  1. The MAX setting is for grilling or roasting.
  2. Min. setting can be used to cook the food and for keep warm function.
  3.  Once the cooking finishes the green indicator light goes out.
  4. During cooking function, the green indicator light will keep turning on and off to maintain the temperature. It is normal and indicates that the temperature is being thermostatically controlled and maintained.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Turn off the appliance and let it cool down for few minutes before cleaning.
  2. Remove all the food debris from the grill plate and raclette plates by using paper towel.
  3. All the accessories and grill plates are washable.
  4. Do not use abrasive, hard detergents and metal scorcher to clean them.
  5. Clean with a non-abrasive sponge using hot water and liquid detergent.
  6. Rinse and dry them with the help of paper towel or clean cloth.
  7. Do not wash bottom or motor part and wipe it with damp and clean cloth.
    NOTE: To avoid scratching of non-stick coating, do not scrub the pans with metal pads or brushes or abrasive products.
    Do not immerse the motor and heating element part in water or place under running water tap.

Storage

  1. Only store the appliance clean and once it has cooled down.
  2.  During longer periods of non-use we recommend to store the appliance in its original packaging.
  3. Always store the appliance in a well-ventilated and dry place and out of reach of children.
