GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE AND SAVE IT FOR ANY FURTHER NEED.

  1. Before connecting your appliance, assure that the voltage of your place of residence corresponds to that indicated on the descriptive plate of the appliance.

  2. Keep the appliance and its supply cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years

  3. Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.

  4. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

  21. Always set any control to “off before unplugging from the socket.

  22. Make sure the ambient temperature is above 0°C, otherwise, the appliance does not function properly.

  23. Always descale the appliance regularly to ensure optimum performance and prevent malfunction. ( at least two times a year) .

  24. Make sure to cool down before cleaning or storing the appliance.

  25. The appliance may give off some smoke and smell when you use it for the first few times because of the oil on some parts, it will disappear after a few times uses.

  26. This kind of appliance cannot function continuously, it is not a professional type of appliance. It is necessary to make temporary stops.

  27. It is absolutely necessary to keep this appliance clean at all times as it comes into direct contact with food.

  28. Regarding the instructions for cleaning surfaces in contact with food, thanks for referring to the below paragraph “cleaning” in the manual.

  29. Make sure the appliance is unplugged before inserting, removing, or cleaning one of the accessories. It is absolutely necessary to remove the accessories before cleaning them.

  30. The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote control system.

WARNING** • Never touch the hot parts of the appliance (be careful, also the warm plate and the appliance is a hot parts!). Only take the coffee maker by the handle.

MARRIAGE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Before first use, clean the carafe, the reusable mesh filter, and the filter basket in warm soapy water, and thoroughly rinse.

  2. Before making coffee you should use the coffee maker once with water only. Throw the obtained water.

  3. Uncover the water reservoir cover and fill it with fresh cold water to the required level.

  4. Close the water reservoir cover.

  5. Swing out the filter holder, put the adequate quantity of coffee powders into the permanent filter (or paper filter) inside the filter holder, return it to its original position, and make sure it is fixed properly.

  6. Place the carafe on the warm plate.

  7. Switch on the appliance by pressing the On/Off switch, the indicator lamp will light up and now the appliance starts to work.
    Note: Caution: Do not open the reservoir lid during the brew cycle, as scalding may occur.

  8. The appliance will brew until the water tank is emptied, then automatically enter into keep-warm mode. (The warm plate will keep the brewed coffee warm at above 72°C,) until the appliance switches automatically into an off mode within 40 minutes.

  9. Unplug from the socket.
    WARNING: Before brewing another carafe of coffee, wait a few minutes to allow the Coffeemaker completely cool.

GENERAL CARE AND CLEANING

  1. Do not forget to remove the plug from the socket before cleaning the appliance.

  2. Make sure that the appliance and especially the carafe are cool down before cleaning.

  3. Do not wash the carafe immediately after use in order to avoid thermal shock.

  4. Clean the inside of the carafe with a soft brush in warm soapy water. Rinse with fresh water and dry it before the next use.
    Note: When washed in a dishwasher, the parts may appear to fade. Restore by polishing them with a soft, dry cloth.

  5.  Wipe outside with a soft, moist cloth when the appliance is cold down completely, never use metal polish.

  6. Never immerse the cord, plug, or appliance itself in water.

DESCALING

  1. The appliance has to be descaled regularly (minimum twice a year)
  2. Operate two or three more brewing cycles with fresh, cold water to remove all descaler solution residues. Throw out the obtained hot water.
  3. The frequency depends on the water’s hardness. Generally, the descaling should be done every two months.
    Operating:
    – Place the carafe onto the Base.
    – Mix three cups of vinegar and nine cups of cold water and fill the water tank up to the Max level with the prepared solution.
    – Switch on the appliance for one minute. Switch off then, and wait one half an hour.
    – Press the Start Button. Allow all of the cleaning solutions to drip into the carafe, throw out the cleaning solution, and clean the carafe.
    – Operate two more brewing cycles with fresh, cold water to remove all descaler solution residues.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you have a problem, you may find the solution in the table below. In case these solutions cannot solve your problem yet, please contact the nearest authorized service agent for examination, repair or adjustment.

PROBLEM SOLUTION
The appliance does not work. Make sure the voltage indicated on the appliance

corresponds to the local mains voltage.
Make sure the appliance has been plugged in & switched on.
Water leaks out of the appliance.| Check if the water tank is filled beyond the MAX level.
The appliance produces a lot of noise and steam during brewing.| Make sure the water tank is not filled with hot water.
The appliance needs to be descaled (see chapter ‘Descaling’).
Coffee grounds enter into the jug.| Check if the filter holder has overflowed because there is too much ground coffee in the filter, or the jug has not been placed correctly under the filter holder, or you. remove the jug for more than 30 seconds during brewing.
Check if the filter is torn or you use the wrong size of a paper filter
Brewing coffee takes longer than usual.| The appliance needs to be descaled (see chapter ‘Descaling’).
The coffee maker switches off before the water tank is empty.| The appliance needs to be descaled (see chapter ‘Descaling’). Attempting to start another brewing cycle before the Coffeemaker cools (3 minutes) may result in an incomplete cycle.
The coffee is not strong enough.| Check if used ground coffee is not enough. It should be one heaped measuring spoon of ground coffee for each cup. Check if you use ground coffee with a mild flavor.
The coffee is too strong.| Check if used too much ground coffee. It should be one heaped measuring spoon of ground coffee for each cup.
Check if you have used ground coffee with a strong flavor.
The coffee does not taste good.| Check if you leave the glass jug with coffee on the warm plate too long, especially if it only contains a small amount of coffee.
The coffee is not hot enough.| Check if the brewed coffee is too little. The coffee will warm longer if you brew more.
Make sure you place the glass jug properly on the warm plate.
The jug is difficult to place in the appliance or remove from the appliance.| Make sure the lid of the jug & filter basket are in the right position. flit the jug a little angle to place or remove it. Be careful not to spill the hot coffee for avoiding scalding.
There is less coffee in the jug than expected.| Check if you have not placed the jug properly on the warm plate so that the anti-drip valve prevents the coffee from flowing out of the filter.
The appliance needs to be descaled (see chapter ‘Descaling’).
