BREWPOINT COFFEE How to Pour-Over
Product Information: Pour-over Coffee Maker
The pour-over coffee maker is a manual brewing device that allows you to make a single cup of coffee with precision and control. It consists of a V60 dripper, a glass carafe, and a filter. The V60 dripper has a conical shape with spiral ridges on the inside, which helps to achieve an even extraction of flavors from the coffee grounds. The glass carafe is used to collect the brewed coffee.
Product Usage Instructions
- Fill the kettle with water and bring it to a boil.
- Weigh out 22g of coffee beans, which is approximately 2 tablespoons. Grind the coffee beans until they reach a fine consistency.
- Place a filter in the V60 dripper and wet it with boiling water. This step helps to minimize any papery taste from the filter.
- Place the glass carafe and the V60 dripper with the wet filter on a scale. Tare the scale so that it reads zero, ensuring accurate measurement.
- Add the ground coffee into the wet filter. Tap the side of the V60 dripper gently to ensure an even and level coffee bed.
- Monitor the scale and stop adding coffee when it reaches 22g.
Now you are ready to start the pour-over process. Slowly pour hot water over the coffee grounds in a circular motion, starting from the center and moving outward. Maintain a steady and controlled pour to saturate all the grounds evenly. Allow the water to flow through the coffee and into the glass carafe below. Once all the water has passed through the coffee grounds, remove the V60 dripper from the carafe. Give the carafe a gentle stir to ensure that the brewed coffee is well mixed. You can now serve and enjoy your freshly brewed pour-over coffee! Remember to clean the pour-over coffee maker after each use, following the manufacturer’s instructions, to maintain its performance and longevity.

- Fill Kettle & bring to boil
- Weigh out 22g of coffee (about 2 tablespoons), & grind until fine
- Place filter in V60, & wet with boiling water to minimize papery taste Place glass carafe & V60 with filter on scale & tare so it reads zero
- Add coffee & tap the side so it’s level, & when the scale reads 22g, tare again; at this stage you should also have a timer ready, or your phone open to do such
- After starting a timer, add a short pour of water to wet all of the grounds so the scale reads approximately 65g.
- This is called the “bloom” & should sit for about 45 seconds
- After 45 seconds, pour 150g of water, in a slow swirling motion
- At 1 minute 15 seconds, pour another 150g of water, in the same circular motion, making sure to wet all the grounds
- It should take 3 minutes or so for all the water to drain down, then you can remove the V60, throw away the filter & coffee, & decant into your mug of choice
