Warning : Non-insulated dangerous voltage within the product’s enclosure may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock. Important operating and maintenance instructions are in this user guide.
Warning : To avoid fire or electrical shock, this product should not be exposed to rain or other moisture. To completely cut off the power, the wall plug should be unplugged.

Amplifier

Please read the instructions carefully. Store and retain the operations guide for future reference.
Pay attention to all warnings and operate in accordance with the instructions.
Avoid high ambient temperatures. Do not operate the amplifier in a room where the temperature is over 40℃ or 104℉. Please allow the heat to fully dissipate after use.
Firmly grasp the plug when unplugging the power cable. Do not pull the cable to unplug.
Do not place this product in a dusty, dirty environment. It should not be exposed to high humidity, e.g. saunas, bathrooms, etc.
Unplug the unit when it will not be in use for an extended period.
Air ventilation should not be blocked or obstructed.
Take precautions not to drop anything in the amplifier.
Do not expose the product to chemicals such as pesticides, benzene, acids, or alkaline.
This product should not be disassembled or refitted by anyone other than HIFIMAN.
To avoid fire and heat-related damage while operating the amplifier, ensure the air vents remain unobstructed by paper, clothes, etc.
Do not place open flames near the amplifier.
Highly flammable liquids should not be dropped or sprayed on or near the amplifier.
To avoid fire hazards, items containing liquids such as vases or glasses should not be placedon the amplifier.
Do not operate with wet or oily hands.
To avoid shocks, nothing should be inserted in the output port of the amplifier except a suitable headphone connection.
Do not step on the power cable.
For maximum reliability, use only HIFIMAN accessories and replacement parts.
In the event of an electrical storm, remove the plug from the power outlet.

Headphone

To avoid the risk of electric shock and to protect the diaphragm from being damaged, nothing should be inserted into the grill on the headphone.
As with the amplifier, the headphones should be kept away from high-temperature environments. The ambient temperature should not exceed 40℃/104℉.
Keep the headphones away from solvents such as alcohol, gasoline, acetone, and corrosive substances including sulfuric acid and sodium hydroxide. Failure to do so may cause irreparable damage to the headphones.
Treat the headphones with care to avoid causing permanent damage to the internal structure and invalidating the warranty.
If the headphone is exposed to moisture or worse, allow it to dry in a warm, moisture-free environment. Do not use a hair dryer or similar product as it may permanently damage the diaphragm.
Do not use the headphone with wet hair.
If the product is to be left unused for an extended period, store it in the storage box and seal with a moisture-proofing agent to prevent mould and corrosion.

Key Features

Mini Shangri-La Electrostatic Headphone

The diaphragm features a nano-particle coating for enhanced high-frequency response and superb musical reproduction characteristics.
The soundstage is deep and expansive compared to traditional “moving coil” headphones.
A single crystal copper wire with a gold-plated plug for lossless signal transmission.
A nanometer-thick dust cover helps prevent dust and other pollutants from causing excessive distortion.
The housing is comprised of ABS and a steel frame made from a stainless-steel honeycomb mesh for the anode casing. The Honeycomb mesh protects the headphones from airflow vibrations, assuring that the sound reduction remains true and accurate.

Mini Shangri-La Electrostatic Amplifier

Operational amplifier and a hybrid discrete component design.
Discrete Cascode MOSFET transistor powers the balanced output amplification.
High voltage power supply uses an independent power supply regulator.
PCB layout optimization, reduces interference hum, allowing for a more transparent sound.
XLR balanced and RCA inputs.
Equipped with two headphone output jacks.
A 21-level Volume Control to allow for precision volume control.
AC 115V / 230V power selector.

Operation Precautions

Important:

Power voltage varies depending upon the region. Before connecting this product to a power source for the first time, make sure the rated voltage on the panel corresponds to local voltage requirements. If not, the power supply should be turned off and the power cable disconnected before adjusting the voltage selector to conform to local standards. The value displayed on the voltage switch is the current voltage. Please make sure to perform the above operations with the power turned off and the power cord disconnected.

Important:

The corresponding white LED light of the input mode will turn on with the selection
between the RCA and Balanced inputs by switching the RCA/Balanced Input Selector.
- Electrostatic Headphone Outputs – Insert a 5-pin headphone plug into the output port of the amplifier

(Note: the direction of the plug’s pins must face up.) – Two pairs of electrostatic headphones can be simultaneously connected to the electrostatic amplifier and enjoyed

Rear Panel Layout

Important:

Select the Input
- To select RCA input source, switch the RCA/Balanced Input Selector on the front panel to RCA, and the corresponding LED light will turn white.
- To select the Balanced input source, switch the RCA/Balanced Input Selector on the front panel to BAL, at which point the corresponding LED light will turn white.
If the power cannot be connected, please contact HIFIMAN customer service or an authorized HIFIMAN dealer. If it is confirmed that it is a fuse issue, the provided backup fuse should be used.

Check the following first if any problem occurred:

Are the connections correct?
Has the operation been performed in accordance with the manual?
Are the connecting devices working properly? If the product is not operating properly, please check the following.

HIFIMAN Limited Warranty

Mini Shangri-La is warrantied for a period of 18 months beginning with the original date of purchase. If you join the official HIFIMAN group on Facebook, your product warranty will be extended for an additional six months. Please contact HIFIMAN customer service if you need any assistance. The dated sales or delivery receipt is your proof of purchase. You may be required to provide proof of purchase as a condition of receiving warranty service so please keep it handy. If your product is under warranty and malfunctions occur, please contact HIFIMAN customer service or your authorized dealer. If necessary, and at the discretion of HIFIMAN, the company will provide a warranty repair or replacement of your product.
Caution : do not disassemble or modify the product in any way. Tampering with or modifying your HIFIMAN product will void its warranty.

This Limited Warranty does not apply to :

Defective or discolored parts if the damages are caused by fluids, dirt, missing keys, broken plastic parts, or improper use.
Damage caused by misuse of another product.
Use of the product for other than its normal intended use, including, without limitation, failure to use the product in accordance with the supplied “Owner’s Guide”
Damage caused by accident, abuse, neglect, or misuse.
If you do not have a valid dated receipt showing proof of purchase.
Damage caused by services/repairs or other modifications to the system carried out by anyone other than HIFIMAN or an authorized HIFIMAN distributor or dealer.
Damage caused by self-repair or if the unit has been disassembled or modified in any way.

HIFIMAN guarantees your satisfaction and will do everything reasonable to achieve that. If you have any questions or concerns with your product, simply contact your authorized dealer or HIFIMAN directly (if purchased from us) and explain the issue in detail. Shoulda return be required, an RA# will be issued. Return shipping to HIFIMAN or an authorized service facility will be at the owner’s expense.
