Intended use

The product is an outdoor pan-tilt-zoom camera (PTZ). Connect the camera to at 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network to transmit visual data and interact with the camera via the mobile application Tuya Smart Life – Smart Living.

  • The product has an IP65 rating and is protected from dust and light rain. If you use the camera outdoors, install it in a sheltered area.
  • If you use the product for purposes other than those described, the product may be damaged.
  • Improper use can result in short circuits, fires, electric shocks or other hazards.
  • The product complies with the statutory national and European requirements.
  • For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify the product.

Handling

Operating environment

Power adapter

  • Do not modify or repair mains supply components including mains plugs, mains
    cables, and power supplies. Do not use damaged components. Risk of death by
    electric shock!

  • Connect the appliance to a wall socket that can be accessed easily.

  • As power supply, only use the supplied mains adaptor.

  • Only connect the power adaptor to a normal mains socket connected to the public supply.

    • Before plugging in the power adaptor, check whether the voltage stated on the power adaptor complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.
  • Never connect or disconnect power adaptors if your hands are wet.

  • Never unplug the power adaptor from the mains socket by pulling on the cable; always use the grips on the plug.

  • For safety reasons, disconnect the power adaptor from the mains socket during storms.

  • Do not touch the power adapter if there are any signs of damage, as this may cause a fatal electric shock! Take the following steps:

    • Switch off the mains voltage to the socket containing the power adapter (switch off the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, and then switch off the corresponding RCD protective switch).
    • Unplug the power adapter from the mains socket.
    • Use a new power adapter of the same design. Do not use the damaged adapter again.
  • Ensure that cables are not pinched, kinked or damaged by sharp edges.

  • Always lay cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses a risk of injury.

LED light

  • Do not look directly into the LED light!
  • Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!

Installation
When penetrating the surface e.g. drilling or inserting fasteners, make sure no cables or pipes are damaged. Inadvertently penetrating electric cables causes the life-threatening danger of an electric shock!

Notes on surveillance

Privacy

Surveillance cameras

  • In your country it may be a legal requirement to display a warning when using surveillance cameras on your property. In such cases it is important to display a warning sticker where potential intruders can see it.
  • You should not point cameras where surveillance extends to public areas, and video recordings should not identify people in a public space

 Installation

Choosing a location
Consider the following when choosing a location for the camera:

  • For outdoor use, mount the camera in a sheltered area.
  • The mounting location constrains the camera recording angle and motion detection angle.
  • Do not place the camera behind glass. Glare from LED lights might overexpose the camera image.
  • The power adaptor must be protected from water and dust.
  • Make sure there is a suitable power outlet for the power adaptor near the mounting location.
    • Do not extend the power supply cable.
  • Check that the camera is within range of the Wi-Fi access point.

Mounting
Preconditions:

  • Check that the provided screws are appropriate for the surface material. If in doubt consult a professional.
    1. Use the mounting holes on the back of the product as a template to mark where to drill.
    2. Attach the product using the supplied dowels and screws.
  • Make sure the product is securely mounted before letting go.

 Mobile app control

Download application
Compatible AndroidTM and iOS apps are available from their respective app stores.

Pairing camera and mobile app
Important:

  • The product is compatible only with 2.4 GHz networks.
  • Enter the exact network name (case sensitive).
  • Only alphanumeric Wi-Fi passwords are supported.
  • Connect the mobile device to the same Wi-Fi network the product will connect to.

If you are giving the product to a third party you did not “Share Device” with, you may need to “Remove Device” through the application before they can link it to their account.

  1. Remove the compartment cover.
  2. Press and hold the reset button until your hear the reset confirmation voice message.
  3. Connect the mobile device to the Wi-Fi network to which you connect the camera.
  4. Open the mobile app and add a new device of type “Wi-Fi PTZ camera”.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the camera.
  6. Attach the compartment cover to seal the compartment.
    • The camera is ready for configuration and operation.

Local recording and storage

To store video locally on the camera, you must install a MicroSD card into the camera. The camera detects the presence of the MicroSD card automatically and stores recordings on the card.
Note:
Local storage and cloud storage can be used simultaneously.

Installing/removing MicroSD card
By installing a MicroSD card, you enable local storage.

Notes:

  • MicroSD cards must be formatted with FAT32.
  • MicroSD cards must not meet the minimum and maximum storage capacities stated in the “Technical data”.
    • Disconnect the camera from the power supply.
    • (To install) Slide the MicroSD card into the card slot until it clicks into place.
    • (To remove) Release the MicroSD card by carefully pushing it down until you hear a click. Remove the MicroSD card.
    • Close the MicroSD card access with the cover. Make sure the cover seals the access to prevent water from entering the access.

Recording video locally
Whenever the camera detects motion and a MicroSD card is installed in the camera, recorded video is stored on the MicroSD card.

Keep the following in mind:

  • If the MicroSD card is full, the earliest recording is automatically overwritten to facilitate continuous recording.
  • Before you remove the MicroSD card, switch the camera off or disconnect it from the power supply to prevent data corruption in case recording is in progress.

 Cleaning and care

Important:

  • Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions.
    • They damage the housing and can cause the product to malfunction.
  • Do not immerse the product in water.
    • Disconnect the product from the power supply.
    • Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.

Disposal

This symbol must appear on any electrical and electronic equipment placed on the EU market. This symbol indicates that this device should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life. Owners of WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) shall dispose of it separately from unsorted municipal waste.
