VISUAL COMFORT CHC 2175 Mini Lantern
Product Information
The Darlana Mini Lantern (Item # CHC 2175) is a light fixture that requires
installation in accordance with applicable local installation codes. It should
be installed by a person familiar with its construction and operation, as well
as the associated hazards. The package should be carefully inspected for any
damage or defects before installation. The product does not include bulbs.

- Phillips Screwdriver
- Slotted Screwdriver
- Slip Joint Pliers
- Measuring Tape
- Wire Strippers
- Chain Pliers
- Wire Cutters
Product Usage Instructions
- Carefully remove all parts from the box and place them on a clean, soft surface.
- Unscrew the quick link (H) to remove the collar loop (D) from the chain (G).
- Install the mounting plate (B) to the junction box and secure it with the mounting screws (C).
- Tighten the locknut using pliers to secure the collar loop (D) to the mounting plate (B).
- Attach the canopy (E) to the collar loop (D) and secure it with the collar ring (F).
- Determine the desired overall length and amount of chain (G) needed. Use chain pliers to shorten the chain, keeping the extra chain.
- Attach the chain (G) to the collar loop (D) and fixture loop (I) using quick links (H). Secure the quick links (H).
- Hang the cluster (K) to the hook on the bottom of the fixture loop (I), then pass the wires through the hole in the fixture frame.
- Thread the fixture wire and ground wire through the chain (G). Ensure there is no tension on the wires when you reach the collar loop (D).
- Cut excess wires, leaving about 12 inches to reach the junction box.
- Separate the two sides of the molded wire and strip insulation on each side by 5/8 inches.
- To remove the canopy (E) for maintenance or cleaning, loosen the collar ring (F) and carefully let it slip down the chain (G).
Care Instructions
Clean the product only with a soft dry cloth or feather duster. Do not use
abrasive or chemical agents.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
NOTICE
This light fixture should be installed in accordance with all applicable,
local installation codes, and by a person familiar with the construction and
operation of it, as well as the hazards involved. Inspect items and
contents carefully. If any damage or defect is found, do not install it.
Retain all packaging material until installation is complete and approved.

- Phillips Screwdriver
- Slotted Screwdriver
- Chain Pliers
- Slip Joint Pliers
- Measuring Tape Wire Cutters
- Wire Strippers

Carefully remove all parts from the box. Place on a clean, soft surface.

Remove the collar loop (D) from the chain (G) by unscrewing the quick link (H).

Install mounting plate (B) to the junction box and secure it with mounting screws (C).

Secure collar loop (D) to mounting plate (B) using pliers to tighten the locknut.

Install canopy (E) to collar loop (D) and secure with collar ring (F).

Determine the desired overall length, and amount of chain (G) needed. Shorten the chain using chain pliers. (Keep extra chain)

Attach chain (G) to collar loop (D) and fixture loop (I) using quick links (H). Secure quick links (H).

Hang cluster (K) to the hook on the bottom of the fixture loop (I), then pass wires through the hole in the fixture frame.

Thread fixture wire and ground wire through the chain (G).
NOTE: When you reach the collar loop (D), ensure there is no tension on the wires. Cut excess wires, being sure to leave about 12” to reach the junction box. -
Separate two sides of molded wire, and strip insulation on each 5/8″.

Loosen collar ring (F) and let canopy (E) slip down chain (G) carefully.

Twist all fixture wires together. Slip through the center hole of the collar loop (D).
NOTE: Untwist wires and separate them to prepare for connection. -
Wrap fixture ground wire (bare copper) around the green grounding screw (see diagram 1). Tighten. Continue fixture ground wire and connect to supply ground wire (usually green or bare copper) using wire nut (A).
NOTE: It is imperative that the fixture is grounded. -
Connect the fixture neutral wire (ribbed) to the supply neutral wire (usually white) using wire nut (A).

Connect the fixture hot wire (smooth with markings) to the supply hot wire (usually black) using wire nut (A).
CAUTION : Do not reverse the hot and neutral connections. -
Make sure all wire connections are tight, then carefully tuck into the junction box.

Install canopy (E) to collar loop (D) and secure with collar ring (F).

Install light bulbs into the sockets.
