Product Usage Instructions

Mounting Recommendations

To properly mount the electromagnetic lock, follow these steps:

  1. Attach the magnetic lock and armature plate securely to their supports.
  2. Ensure the magnetic lock and the armature plate are aligned.
  3. Mount the armature plate floating around the central mounting screw to compensate for any door misalignment.

Electrical Connections

When connecting the lock to the input current, make sure to:

  • Check the jumper position before connecting the lock to avoid
damaging it. Incorrect jumper position can void the warranty.

  • Ensure the magnet and the armature meet evenly over their entire facing surfaces.

  • Allow the armature plate to pivot slightly about its center mounting screw to compensate for any door misalignment.

Recommended Power Supplies

Voltage Recommended Power Supply
12V ADC335, ADC612S
24V ADC324, PSMB242

Security Rope Installation

To ensure the safety of users and prevent the electromagnetic lock from detaching, follow the steps below:

  1. Install the two safety ropes as shown in the diagram.

IMPORTANT NOTE

  • Check the jumper position before connecting the lock to the input current. Having it in the wrong position could damage the lock. This type of damage is not covered by the warranty.
  • Make sure that the magnet and the armature meet evenly over their entire facing surfaces.

The armature plate must be able to pivot slightly about its center mounting screw to compensate for any door misalignment.

Installation Instructions

MOUNTING RECOMMENDATIONS

Armature plate

  • It is vital that the magnetic lock and armature plate are securely fixed to their supports.
  • The magnetic lock and the armature plate must be aligned.
  • The armature plate must be mounted “floating” around the central mounting screw to compensate for any misalignment of the door.

The security rope

  • Throughout its life, an electro-magnetic lock is subject to an accumulation of repeated shocks and stresses at the fixing points on the door frame.
  • Frequent opening and closing of the door as well as attempts of opening a locked door or acts of vandalism can cause the maglock to detach from its mounting support or bracket. In order to avoid the risk of the electro-magnetic lock falling, the two safety ropes can be installed to guarantee the safety of users. (see diagram above).

MAINTENANCE / TROUBLESHOOTING

In order to sustainably maintain the performance of your powered safety devices, we recommend :

  1. Perform a periodic functional test of your facility.
  2. Visually inspect the condition of different components of the installation in order to prevent deterioration of the wiring and the appearance of rust on the surfaces of electromagnetic devices.
  3. Systematically correct any anomaly of a nature compromise the security of your installation.

Reference should also be made to the standard NF S61-933 concerning the rules of operation and maintenance.
