Thank you for purchasing the Lindy 10m USB 3.0 Active Extension Type A to C. This product has been designed to provide trouble free, reliable operation. This Lindy 10m USB Active Extension Type A to C is a high performance active cable that allows access to USB Type C peripherals like webcams or storage devices over long distances. With support for data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps this extension cable is perfect for transferring large data volumes quickly and reliably.

This 10m extension cable can be used standalone or – for distances up to 38m – as part of the Lindy USB 3.0 Active Extension System Pro. Please note that only No. 43157, 43158, 43229 or 43361 (depending on the maximum required distance) can be connected directly to your computer as first unit. The final part of the extension shall always be the 10m USB Type A to C Active Extension No. 43376. A USB to DC adapter cable for power supply is included.

Installation

Connect the 10m USB 3.0 Active Extension Type A to C to a free USB Type A port on your computer. Your computer will recognize the new hardware and install any required drivers automatically. Now connect your USB Type C device, i.e. a webcam, to the USB C socket of the 10m USB 3.0 Active Extension. Then connect the included power adapter cable to the DC socket of the USB 3.0 Active Extension and to a USB power supply (not included). Usually a 5V 1A power supply of a smartphone is enough to drive the connected device.
For USB devices with high power demands, such as a USB Hub or storage device, it may be necessary to connect a bigger power supply with an output voltage and amperage up to 5V 3A.

For an extension with even greater distances up to 38m you can connect additional segments of the Lindy USB 3.0 Active Extension System Pro (No. 43157, 43158, 43229 or 43361) directly to your computer and then connect this 10m USB 3.0 Active Extension Type A to C as a final segment to reach a maximum distance of 38m.

Example Set-ups with Lindy USB 3.0 Active Extension System Pro:
