This product contains no user serviceable parts.
Only a qualified electrician should attempt repairs. Do not place, store or
use the product near direct sunlight or direct heat sources or in a damp/ high
humidity environment.
This product is intended for domestic use only.
Battery Safety
Do not short-circuit a cell or battery.
- Do not store cells and batteries haphazardly in a box or drawer where they may short-circuit each other or be short circuited by other metal objects.
- Check that the battery compartment is secure.
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as those recommended should be used with this product.
- Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
- Remove any batteries from the product when it is not being used for a long period of time to avoid leakage.
- Exhausted batteries should be removed from the product to avoid leakage
- In the event of batteries leaking, do not allow any liquid to come into contact with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice.
- Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
- Seek medical advice immediately if a cell or battery has been swallowed.
- Non-rechargeable batteries should not be recharged
- Rechargeable batteries must be removed from the product before being charged.
- Rechargeable batteries should only be recharged under adult supervision.
- When possible, remove the battery from the product when not in use.
- Exhausted batteries must be removed and disposed of safely.
- Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.
- Do not crush, puncture, dismantle or otherwise damage the batteries.
- Do not expose batteries to heat or fire as they may explode.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon zinc) and rechargeable batteries (nickel hydride).
- Do not subject the batteries to mechanical shock.
- Do not dispose of batteries in household waste.
- To dispose of any batteries, take them to a local recycling station. Contact the local government offices for details. This product requires 4 x M batteries (not included).
Care and Maintenance
Wipe the mill with a soft, damp cloth and allow to dry thoroughly
- Do not immerse the mill in water or any other liquid.
- Never use harsh or abrasive cleaning detergents or scourers to clean the mill, as this could cause damage.
NOTE: Not suitable for dishwasher use.
Expose the mill to extremely high or low temperatures.
Drop the mill.
Attempt to disassemble the mill.
Installing The Batteries
STEP 1: To install or replace the batteries, remove the upper cap by turning
it in an anticlockwise direction and lifting up and away from the mill.
STEP 2: Lift off the battery retaining ring.
STEP 3: Carefully remove the exhausted batteries (if applicable). Insert 4 x
AA batteries into the battery compartment, observing the correct polarity.
STEP 4: Replace the battery retaining ring.
STEP 5: Replace the upper cap and twist it in a clockwise direction until
secure.
Filling the Electronic Mill
STEP 1: To fill the mill, remove the upper cap by turning it in an
anticlockwise direction and lifting up and away from the mill.
STEP 2: Lift the motor unit off the spice chamber.
STEP 3: Fill the spice chamber with dry coarse sea salt (not flakes or rack
salt) or standard sized dried peppercorns.
STEP 4: Reassemble the mill by locating the pins on the bottom of the motor
unit and align with the pin holes at the top of the spice chamber.
Using the Electronic Mill
Press the dispensing button at the top of the mill. Ground seasoning will come
out and the LED light will illuminate.
Adjusting for Fine or Coarse Grinding
STEP 1: Turn the mill upside down.
STEP 2: To adjust the coarseness of the grind, loosen or tighten the grind
adjust knob. Turn the knob clockwise for a finer grind or anticlockwise for a
coarser grind.
CAUTION: Take care not to overtighten the grind adjust knob, as this
could cause damage to the mechanism.
Residue may build up around the dispensing mechanism, which can prevent the
finest grind setting from working. If this happens, turn the mill upside down
and begin grinding to release the trapped residue. The finest grind setting
can now be used.
Storage
Check that the product is clean and dry before storing in a cool, dry place.
