Performance
There is always a trade-off between performance, battery life, and weight with ultra-portable computers. In order to keep the device portable, the latter two have been sacrificed here. Due to the absence of an included optical drive, we were unable to utilize our go-to benchmark, MobileMark 2005, to measure the battery life. Instead, we measured how much juice it can offer using the comparable and free Battery Eater Pro. The P1610 completed the “Reader” benchmark in two hours and fifteen minutes with the screen at its highest brightness.
The P1610 also includes a robust Power Saving Utility that disables wireless, and memory cards and adjusts brightness in order to prolong battery life. Six- cell batteries are also an option if you need more power while driving.
