Assembly Instructions
Step 1 – Preparing for installation
- Disconnect electrical power at fuse or circuit breaker box before installing or servicing any part of this fixture.
- This fixture is designed to be hardwired using Romex NM-B, BX cable or metal conduit in accordance with applicable local building codes.
- Remove fixture from carton.
- Remove plastic lens (3) by pulling up on its top edge.
- Squeeze cover (2) to release from locking tabs and lift to remove from channel (1). Note: some models with orange connector between driver and LED board must be disconnected to separate cover from channel.
- Select and remove appropriate knockout for power supply entry. Use matching metal connector (not included) with different type of power supply wire in accordance to local building code. Note: If Romex cable is allowed a EMT connector (included) can be used.
Step 2 – Fixture mounting
-
Place channel (1) up to the cabinet surface with the power supply knockout located over entryway for power supply wires. Mark the center locations of smaller holes through two keyhole slots on to the cabinet per Fig 2.
-
Take the channel down and drill a small pilot hole in the cabinet at each marked locations. Install two #8 x 5/8 inch wood screws (4) into previously Adjust CCT switch on front of the fixture according to the desired color temperature as seen in Fig 3. Note: Fixture is preset to 3000K from factory
drilled holes but leave a 1/8 inch gap between head of screw and cabinet until Step 2 E.
Caution- Personal injury and damage to the fixture and/or mounting surface may result if the fixture is pulled from the surface. To reduce the likelihood of injury or damage, mount only on a surface that is structurally sound. -
Feed the supply wires (black, white and ground (green or bare)) through the metal connector and open knockout hole in the channel. Tighten metal connector (not included) and power supply wire to the channel.
-
Place channel up against the cabinet with the screws passing through larger hole of the keyhole slots, and then slide it over into the smaller hole per Fig. 2.
-
Secure channel to the cabinet by tightening two screws.
Step 3 – Wiring
Caution: Check electrical power wires for damage or scrapes. If power supply wires are within three inches of the fixture use wire suitable for at least 90°C (194°F). Note: Most dwellings built before 1985 have supply wire rated to 60°C. Consult a qualified electrician to ensure correct branch circuit conductor before installing.
- Make all wire connections to appropriate wire using wire connectors (included).
- Connect the green wire from the fixture to the supply power source ground wire.
- Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (N) from power supply source.
- Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (L) from power supply source.
- Do not mix wires. Pull on each wire lead to make sure connections are secured. Make certain no bare wires are exposed outside of the wire nuts.
- Some models with orange connector must be reconnected at this time.
Step 4 – Cover and diffuser installation
- Install cover (2) to the channel (1) by inserting rear flange side into the channel and rotate upward then squeeze front side until all retaining tabs are engaged and locked cover securely.
- Install acrylic diffuser (3) to the fixture by inserting front L-shape inside the channel with rear U-groove shape side latching on to the edge of the cover securing it to the fixture.
Step 5 – Restore power at fuse or circuit breaker box
Step 6 – Use built-in rocker switch to control light On and OFF
