Product Information

The Ninebot KickScooter is a personal electric scooter designed for commuting and recreational use. It is equipped with a headlight for improved visibility and safety during rides. The scooter comes with a rechargeable battery that needs to be activated before first use. The scooter can be controlled and monitored using the Segway-Ninebot app, which can be downloaded by scanning the provided QR code.

Product Usage Instructions

Safety Precautions

  • Always wear a helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads when riding the KickScooter to ensure your safety.

Assembly

  • Unfold the kickstand and handlebar stem by closing the quick-release lever. Slide the handlebar onto the stem with the headlight facing forward. Securely connect the wires inside the handle and stem. Install the four screws (two on each side) using the included hex wrench.

Charging

  • Locate the charge port on the KickScooter. Charge the scooter for at least three seconds before the first use to activate the battery. Use the provided charger and connect it to the charge port to charge the scooter.

Activation and Pairing

  • Turn on the KickScooter. If it is not activated, it will beep and have a speed limit of 15 km/h (9.3 mph). Scan the QR code provided to download the Segway-Ninebot app. Register or log in to the app. Click “Search vehicle” and pair with your KickScooter.
  • Follow the instructions in the app to watch the Riding Safety video.

Assembly

  • Unfold the kickstand. Unfold the handlebar stem and close the quick-release lever
  • Headlight
  • Slide the handlebar onto the stem with the headlight facing forward.
  • Make sure that the wires inside the handle and the stem are connected.
  • Install the 4 screws in order (two on each side) with the included hex wrench.

Activation

Charge Port ****

  1. Charge the KickScooter for three seconds to activate the battery before the first use
  2. An inactivated KickScooter will keep beeping when turned on, and its speed is limited to 15 km/h (9.3 mph).
  3. Scan the QR code to download the Segway-Ninebot app to register or log in.
  4. Click “Search vehicle” and pair it with your KickScooter.
  5. Follow the instructions to watch the Riding Safety video.
  6. Click to activate the KickScooter.
  7. Additional and/or supplemental warnings and instructions on how to use the product are also in the Segway Ninebot app, and such information and/or notice is part of the user materials that a user shall know and learn.

How to Ride

  1. Power on the KickScooter.

  2. Stand on the footboard with one foot and push off with the other foot to start gliding.

  3. Put both feet on the footboard and stand stably. Press the throttle to speed up when you are balanced.
    Note: For your safety, the motor will not engage until the KickScooter reaches 3 km/h (1.9 mph). Set the start speed via the Segway-Ninebot app (for 051201A / 051202A / 051203A / 051201U / 051202U / 051203U only).

  4. Slow down by releasing the throttle and squeezing the brake lever. The rear light flashes when braking. (The rear light of 051201D, 051202D, and 051203D stays on when braking.)

  5. When turning left or right, press the “←” (left) or “→” (right) switch on the direction indicator switch. Then the direction indicator will flash regularly which can be turned off by pressing the corresponding switch again.

  6. Users of F2 Pro can use the horn by pressing the Horn Button above the Direction Indicator Switch. (Please use the horn properly.)

  7. To turn, shift your body and turn the handlebar slightly.

  8. Put down the kickstand

Charging

  • Charge Port
  • Your KickScooter is fully charged when the LED on the charger changes from red (charging) to green (charged).
  1. Open the charge port cover
  2. Insert the charge plug.
  3. Close the charge port cover when finished.

When the scooter is not powered on for about 7 consecutive days and its battery level is less than 30%, the battery will enter sleep mode. If this happens, your scooter cannot be powered on. Please charge the scooter.

WARNINGS

Before first use, please charge the vehicle and inflate the tires; make sure the battery power and tire pressure are sufficient before riding! (Recommended tire pressure: Please refer to Specifications of Product Manual.)

  • DO NOT ride on public roads, motorways, or highways unless the local laws or regulations have exceptions.
  • DO NOT use a mobile phone or wear earphones when riding the KickScooter.
  • DO NOT carry any passengers.
  • DO NOT ride up and down stairs or jump over obstacles.
  • DO NOT ride the scooter in the rain. DO NOT ride through puddles or other obstacles.
  • DO NOT ride the scooter with only one foot or one hand.
  • Keep your speed between 3.1–6.2 mph (5–10 km/h) when you ride through speed bumps or other uneven surfaces.
  • DO NOT overtake
  • Watch your head when passing through doorways.
  • DO NOT carry heavy objects on the handlebar.
  • Avoid contacting obstacles with the tire/wheel.
  • DO NOT touch the disc brake after riding.
  • The use of the machine results in the transmission of vibrations throughout the driver’s body
  • DO NOT brake rapidly

Folding

  • Safety Lock
  1. Lift the safety lock and open the quick-release lever.
  2. Lift the safety lock and open the quick-release lever again, then fold the stem.
  3. Align and fasten the snap hook and the buckle

Carrying

  • Lift by the stem to carry.

Unfolding

  1. Disengage the snap hook from the buckle.
  2. Unfold the handlebar stem and close the quick-release lever.

Valve Stem Extension

  1. Unscrew the valve cap
  2. Connect the valve stem extension to the tire valve stem.
  3. Connect the pump to inflate the tire.

App Features

  • Please customize these features via the Segway-Ninebot app
  • Cruise Mode (Only for 051201A, 051202A, 051203A, 051201U, 051202U and 051203U))
  • Enable Cruise mode via Segway-Ninebot App, and it will function when rider presses and holds the throttle for more than 5 seconds, with the buzzer sounding a long beep. (KickScooter can not enter Cruise mode when its speed is slower than 5 km/h (3.1 mph))
  • KickScooter will not decelerate when rider releases the throttle for the first time upon entering Cruise Mode
  • Cruising will end if rider squeezes brake lever or presses the throttle again after releasing it, and the buzzer will ring two short beeps.

CodeLock

  • Rider can enable CodeLock through App when KickScooter is connected to the App via Bluetooth.
  • After setting a passcode, rider needs to press power button to wake up dashboard, then enter passcode by pressing direction indicator switch. The number increases by one for each pressing of “→” and decreases by one for each pressing of “←”. Rider has to squeeze the brake lever once for confirming each password entered. A beep will be heard for each confirmation.

Apple Find My network

Add KickScooter to Find My

Launch Find My app on a iPhone or iPad, Tap + then tap Add Other Item ⊕. Power on the KickScooter, and pair KickScooter (unlocked) with Apple Find My by squeezing the brake lever three times, pressing the power button once, then choosing the KickScooter in the Find My app and following the on-screen instructions. (The KickScooter will automatically exit pairing in ten minutes.)

  • Nearby Status and Separated Status
  • If the KickScooter is added to Find My, when the owner is separated from the KickScooter or turns off the Bluetooth of his or her mobile device after a riding, the KickScooter will automatically enter Separated status after a period of time. When owner gets close to the KickScooter with the mobile device, the Bluetooth of the device will automatically connect with the KickScooter and the KickScooter will exit Separated status. If the KickScooter is in Separated status, non-owner can go to the Items tab in the Find My app and tap on Identify Found Item. Owners can still use Find My to find the KickScooter even the KickScooter power is of

Enable & Disable Find My

  • Owner can enable & disable Find My by squeezing brake lever by 9 times and pressing power button once in unlocked status

RESET

  • After powering on the KickScooter, owner can complete RESET by squeezing brake lever by 5 times and pressing power button once in unlocked status. Then the owner can not use Find My to find this KickScooter. Owner has to remove the KickScooter from the Find My before adding the KickScooter into Find My again.

SN Look up(Learn more)

  • Any iOS user can connect to the KickScooter by Apple Find My app, and then check KickScooter’s S/N by squeezing brake lever for 8 times and pressing power button once. The S/N will display on the Apple Find My app.

Max. Quantity of Connected Devices

  • A KickScooter can be connected to maximum 3 iOS devices (with same account).

Firmware Update

  • Owner can update the firmware after connecting the KickScooter to Segway-Ninebot App. Non-owner is not allowed to update the firmware.
  • Only users of Apple devices need to read this Apple Find My app instruction
