Frequently Asked Questions
Does this camera include tree strap?
Yes. It includes a 6′ tree strap with metal buckle.
What is the file format of the video? i read that browning uses tls (?), not avi or mp4.
Browning uses the .talc format (possibly a proprietary format) for its time- lapse pictures. You can view these on Browning’s free Buck watch App. You can change this to .avid by merely changing the file suffix to .avi. But…sometimes that interferes with Browning’s Buck Watch software. If you want an .avi version of the time-lapse videos and want to avoid potential problems, , copy the .tlc file and convert the copy to avi.
Is the only way to look at the pics by connecting it to a computer?.if yes is there one where you can see it on your phone?
Computer is the best way. I have had spotty luck with SD card readers in phones. One minute they work then they don’t. I normally take my laptop into the woods unless i can wait until i get home.
Is this camera blacked out?
I’m not sure that this camera is totally “blacked out”. I can see small red lights flash when it takes pictures at night. Check the product description and compare it to the Browning Black Ops cameras.
Is the buckwatch software compatibly with a chromebook system?
Don’t know but I’d doubt it
Does this cam include buckwatch software?
While our trail cameras no longer include a disk that has the software on it we do make it available via a link that the instruction manual directs you to. The Buck Watch Timelapse Viewer Software is a free download and is only necessary when operating the camera in Timelapse Plus mode.
Does this have no-glow, (940nm), IR illumination?
The strike Force series of cameras does have a visible glowing IR illuminator. When you walk up on them at night, you can see the IR emitters glowing. I don’t know the wavelength of the IR light.
How does this camera Attach to the tree?
Not too large or the strap will not be long enough. Be aware these camera’s are easy prey to theft using just the strap. I opted for a metal box and used lag bolts to attach it to a tree. Put the camera inside then apply the cover plate. Seal with a lock of your choice. Much safer and secure. Make certain if you purchase a metal box it is for your camera.
What is the closest distance the subject will still be in focus?
About 4-5 Feet.
Will you charge the shipment individually for each camera? Because I’m planing
on buying 4 with shipment for Mexico
Typically they will ship in case packs of 4, but this is a question that
should be directed to your 3rd party reseller directly.
What is the furthest distance the camera will get triggered?
75-90 feet in my experience. Of course anything closer will trigger the camera
also.
What is warranty on this ?
All Browning Trail Cameras have a one year warranty from date of purchased.
Anybody know of a game camera that is not made in China?
No and this one sucks
Does this camera take a cable lock?
Yes, it has a few places with holes and spots to slide a security cable thru. I bought a DLC Covert Python Security Cable on Amazon that works perfect with this trail camera. just to be clear the security cable works well to hang the camera from a tree or post and to prevent some from stealing the trail camera. However, the SD Card could still be taken out of the camera.
Does this camera take night videos?..all im getting is sound and black screen?
Mine takes night videos of possum and armadillos.
Is the IR sensor visible at night?
The IR sensor works at night.
