The USB-C to RS232 (DB9) Serial Adapter Cable (M/M) is designed to connect a device with a 9-pin RS-232 serial port to the USB Type-C port on your computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. It is ideal for connecting modems, digital cameras, PDAs, and ISDN erminals. The cable supports data transfer speeds up to 230 Kbps,which is twice as fast as a built-in serial port. It does not equire an external power source and features a portable 5 ft. design that fits perfectly into a laptop bag. The cable is constructed with premium foil and braid shielding for EMI/RFI noise protection. It has molded nickel-plated connectors with gold-plated contacts for optimal signal quality. The integral strain relief ensures long life, and the twisted 28/24 AWG data/power lines provide lexibility. The cable has a flexible PVC jacket that is easy to install in tight spaces. It is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android devices.
Product Usage Instructions
- Ensure that your device has a USB Type-C port.
- Plug the USB-C (MALE) connector of the cable into the USB Type-C port on your computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.
- Connect the DB9 (MALE) connector of the cable to the 9-pin RS-232 serial port of your device (modem, digital camera, PDA, or ISDN terminal).
- If using with a Windows device, ensure that it is running Windows 2000 or later (including Windows 11).
- If using with a Mac device, ensure that it is running Mac OS X 10.6 through 10.12.
- If using with a Linux device, ensure that it is running Linux Redhat 7.3 through 9.0 (Linux Kernel 2.4.31 and above include built-in drivers).
- If using with an Android device, ensure that it has USB Host Mode (OTG) support and is running OS 3.2 or later. You will need a USB Host Mode (OTG) cable.
- Once connected, you can now transfer data between your device with the 9-pin RS-232 serial port and your computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Note: For any warranty or support issues, refer to the owner’s manual or contact the manufacturer for assistance.
