SETTING UP THE SYSTEM
Download the WUUK app from the App Store (iOS devices) or GooglePlay
Store(Android devices).
Register an account if there is no existing account.
Go to the app homepage. Tap Add Device > add the WUUK Wired Smart Doorbell Pro
to your WUUK app.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
TURN OFF THE POWER SUPPLY
Shut off the doorbell power supply. If you’re not sure, shut off the main power supply in your house. Turn the light in your home on/ off to make sure the electricity in your house is properly shut off.
Note: Always be careful when handling electricity wiring. If you’re not comfortable to do it yourself, do consult a qualified electrician.
BYPASS THE EXISTING CHIME
To install a video doorbell, it’s necessary to bypass the existing doorbell chime in your home. Follow these steps to complete the process
-
Locate the doorbell chime in your house and remove its cover to reveal the screw terminals marked as
“TRANS” and “FRONT.” -
Use the provided jumper for existing chime to connect these two terminals, bypassing the doorbell chime. This will not affect the normal operation of the circuit.
-
If your doorbell chime has different markings or you have multiple chimes, refer to the help session in the App for custom wiring instructions, or consult a qualified electrician.
-
Note that the video doorbell requires the existing chime to be bypassed first to get sufficient power. Without this step, the video doorbell may still power on but will operate unstably.
-
Keep in mind that once the jumper is in place, the existing chime will no longer sound.
By following these steps carefully, you’ll be able to bypass your existing doorbell chime and successfully install your new video doorbell.
MOUNT THE DOORBELL
Choose The Way You Want to Install The Doorbell
Height and Location
The WUUK Smart Doorbell series of products is designed and built for outdoor
use, and mostly for monitoring your home entrance(s).
We recommend hanging the WUUK Wired Smart Doorbell Pro 3.9ft~4.6ft
(120MM~140MM) above the ground.
Avoid placing the doorbell under direct sunlight.
The original package of the WUUK Wired Smart Doorbell Pro contains a 15° Angle
Mount. Apply the angle mount if needed.
1-Minute Installation: Apply 3M VHB Tape
Better Prepare The Surface for Strong Bond
Initial tape application to surfaces at temperatures below 50 ° F (10 ° C) is
not recommended. If you are in a cold area, warm up the tape by using a
hairdryer or other tools.
- Peel off the red foil that has the 3M VH B texts on it, and attach the backplate to where you want to sit your doorbell.
- Press hard on the backplate for 5 seconds.
- Let it be there and dwell for at least 24 hours so the 3M VHB tape can sink into the surface and build the strongest bond.
Screw on(Optional)
*For installing on porous & uneven surfaces such as concrete, stone, limestone, brick; Or you choose to install this way.
Mark 2 drill hole positions using the doorbell locating pad provided. Use a
bit to drill holes in your wall and insert the anchors.
- Install anchors – on stucco, brick, or concrete (Optional)
- Screw it in – on particleboard, wood, and paints
- Secure your WUUK Doorbell backplate on the wall using the four screws provided.
Connect the Wires
Note: Make sure the wires go through the backplate.
Connect the wires coming out of your wall to the screws on the back of your WUUK Doorbell. Either wire can connect to either screw. The order doesn’t matter.
Attach The Wire Extensions (Optional)
If you have trouble connecting the wires coming out of your wall to the back
of your WUUK Doorbell, use the provided wire extensions and wire nuts.
Feed all the wires, and the wire nuts, if you used them, into your wall.
Hook the Doorbell
Then hand the doorbell onto the wall mount.
Match the top hook on the backplate first, then snap the bottom. Press the
lower part of the doorbell until you hear a slight clicking sound.
TURN THE DOORBELL ON
Switch the master circuit breaker to ON.
Wait until the doorbell indicator light flashes red. Then follow the on-screen instructions in WUUK App to connect the video doorbell to your home Wi-Fi.
