CHILLER UNIT SET UP
SETTING UP THE CHILLER UNIT AND BATH
Following are the 3 steps to setting up your Buddy Chiller Unit and bath. It
is important to do the steps in the order shown, making sure the hoses are
connected BEFORE the bath is filled, as the bath may need to be tilted when
connecting the ball valve at the base of the bath.
CONNECT THE HOSES
- Screw the applicable 25mm fitting into the “OUT” port on the Buddy Chiller Unit and the other into the top port of the ice bath.
- Screw the applicable 32mm fitting into the “IN” port on the Buddy Chiller Unit.
- Screw the ball valve into the bottom port of the ice bath.
- Screw the second 32mm fitting into the end of the ball valve.
- Connect one end of the 25mm hose to the 25mm fitting on the Buddy Chiller Unit via the cam-lock fitting and connect the other end to the 25mm fitting on the ice bath via the cam-lock fitting.
- Connect one end of the 32mm hose to the 32mm fitting on the Buddy Chiller Unit via the cam-lock fitting and connect the other end to the 25mm fitting on the ice bath via the cam-lock fitting.
TIP: Use plumbing tape around all threads including the inlet and outlet ports of the Chiller Unit and ice bath.
FILL THE BATH
- The bath should NOT be filled before the hoses have been connected as the bath may need to be tilted slightly when connecting the ball valve at the base of the bath.
- For the Recovery Bath Compact and Duo Models, ensure the bath is filled to a level ABOVE the inlet hole at the top of the bath. For the Ice Bath Solo, Twin and Trio, the water level will be below the inlet hole (see diagram on adjacent page).
