Product Information

The product is a set of outdoor speakers from the ZEN line manufactured by VIVALDI SRL. The specific models available are ZEN780 and ZEN980. The speakers feature a push-pull subwoofer with two 165mm woofers and a mid-woofer with one 165mm driver. They also come with a compression driver tweeter measuring 34mm. The speakers have a frequency response of 96dB and an RMS power rating of 300W. The impedance is 4 ohms, and they are protected by a stainless steel cabinet with an IP65 protection grade. The dimensions of thespeakers are 205mm in diameter and 995mm (ZEN780) or 1200mm (ZEN980) in height. The package includes the speaker, a user manual, a 30W 12V LED power supply for the ZEN980 model, and necessary cables. Product Usage Instructions

1. Before installation, ensure that the structure where the speaker will be installed is reliable and securely anchor the speaker to it.
2. Do not place the speakers on moving surfaces.
3. Avoid touching or bumping into the woofer and tweeter as it may damage the sound quality.
4. Make sure to connect the speakers when the amplifier is turned off.
5. After making the connections, gradually increase the volume to avoid audio distortion.
6. Avoid listening to audio at a high level while changing the input source or when installing/removing cables. These operations should be performed only after ensuring that the power amplifier is turned off.
7. For cleaning painted speakers, use a wet cloth and avoid using chemical solvents that may damage the surface.
8. For cleaning unpainted speakers (steel), use Scotch Brite together with a product suitable for steel (e.g., kitchen hob cleaner). Rub in parallel movements to the satin finish and rinse carefully with a wet cloth.
9. It is recommended to pass the connection cable through dedicated pipes, even though it is external.
10. Make connections with appropriate watertight connectors or in special watertight junction boxes for added protection.

WARNING

• Check that the structure on which the speaker is installed is reliable and that the speaker is fi rmly anchored to it.
• Do not place the speakers on moving surfaces.
• Do not touch or bump into the woofer and tweeter. If the latter are damaged, the sound will be distorted.
• Make the connections when the amplifi er is off , once connected increase the volume gradually, verifying that the audio is not distorted. Do not listen to audio at a high level while changing the input source, or while installing or removing cables. These operations must be performed after verifying that the power amplifi er is turned off .
• Cleaning painted speakers: do not clean the speakers with chemical solvents as it may damage its surface. Wipe with a wet cloth. Cleaning unpainted speakers (steel): to remove any stains on the external surface, clean the speakers with Scotch
• Brite together with a product suitable for steel (ex. the one used for the kitchen hob). Rub with movements parallel to the satin fi nish, taking care to rinse carefully with a wet cloth.
• Although the connection cable is external, it is recommended to pass it through dedicated pipes.
• It is advisable to make connections with appropriate watertight connectors or in special watertight junction boxes.

CONNECTION

Depending on the type of installation, speaker cables from the amplifier can be buried directly, however the use of a 25-40mm ID duct may be required to protect the cables from possible physical damage if future interventions or changes are planned in the installation area (recommended).
Recommendations:

• Solder the wires together and use a waterproof heat shrink sheath to seal.
• Use watertight connectors.
• Make connections with water-resistant crimp joints.
• Use watertight muffle joints available at electrical equipment dealers.

Light module:
The ZEN510/510T, ZEN930/930T, ZEN980/980A models are provided with a white LED light module with a specific connection. The LED light must be powered by an external 12V DC power supply or by a LED driver/dimmer LED at 12V DC

EXAMPLE OF 4Ω SYSTEM CONNECTION

• Observe correct polarity for maximum bass performance 2 speakers per channel connected in parallel.

UNDERPOWERING VS. OVERPOWERING

• Most speaker damage is caused by amplifiers with too little power (wattage).
• An overdriven amplifier clips the waveforms and sends distortion to the speakers.
• Clipping is usually audible; it may vary from a harsh sound to a fuzzy or unclear sound.
• If you hear this condition at loud volume levels, turn down the volume until the distortion is no longer present.
• Damage caused by operating the speakers at distorted volume levels is not covered by the warranty.
