INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Code Keeper™ Wet Location Cover
For Vertical Mounting Only! (CKSUV)

Important

Read and understand all instructions and safety information before use. Be aware of the proper usage and potential hazards.

WARNING:

  • Risk of shock, disconnect power before installation.

CAUTION:

  • The product should be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with national and local electrical codes.

Instructions:

  1. TURN THE POWER OFF.

  2. Knock out the appropriate receptacle pattern from the gasket.

  3. Prepare receptacle for cover installation. GFCI receptacle – discard adapter plates.
    Round receptacle up to 1 9/16″ – Remove the inner circle of the Round/Switch adapter.

  4. Mount plate to box. Note: Position plate with door hinges at the top, making certain that door is assembled to plate prior to installation.
    Option A: Attaching plate using receptacle screws. Attach receptacle to box by loosely inserting the receptacle screws into the box. Knock out the two screw holes from the gasket and place the gasket over the heads of the screws and seat against the face of the box. Thread screws until heads extend 3/8″ from the face of the gasket (see illustration). Push adapter pin(s) into the gasket and receptacle.
    Place the plate KEYHOLES over screws and “square” to the box (see illustration). Tighten screws to secure the plate.
    Option B: Attaching plate using mounting screws (furnished). Attach receptacle securely to box. Knock out the four screw holes from the gasket. Position the gasket over the receptacle and seat it against the face of the box. Push adapter pin(s) into the gasket and receptacle. Secure the plate firmly to the box with the four mounting screws.

  5. Use caulk or sealant around the plate when installed on an irregular flat surface such as brick or wood siding.

  6. TURN ON THE POWER.

*GFCI NOTE: Alternative GFCI installation (not pictured). Verify GFCI is securely fastened to the box. Remove center from gasket and place over GFCI. Insert (2) screws (provided) through top and bottom ROUND holes in the cover into threaded holes in GFCI. Tighten screws. See steps 4A.
