GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious
injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term „power tool“ in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
- WORK AREA SAFETY
- Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
- Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
- Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
- ELECTRICAL SAFETY
- Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
- Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
- Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
- Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
- When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for out-door use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
- If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual cur-rent device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
- PERSONAL SAFETY
- Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
- Use personal protective equipment. Al-ways wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will re-duce personal injuries.
- Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energizing power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
- Remove any adjusting key or wrench be-fore turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
- Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
- Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
- If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
- POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
- Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
- Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
- Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
- Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
- Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
- Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
- SERVICE
- Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
MACHINE SPECIFIC SAFETY WARNINGS FOR CIRCULAR SAWS
- DANGER: Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade. Keep your second hand on auxiliary handle, or motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they cannot be cut by the blade.
- Do not reach underneath the workpiece. The guard cannot protect you from the blade below the workpiece.
- Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of the workpiece. Less than a full tooth of the blade teeth should be visible below the workpiece.
- Never hold piece being cut in your hands or across your leg. Secure the workpiece to a stable platform. It is important to sup-port the work properly to minimize body exposure, blade binding, or loss of control.
- Hold the power tool by insulated grip-ping surfaces only, when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a ”live“ wire will also make exposed metal parts of the power tool ”live“ and could give the operator an electric shock.
- When ripping, always use a rip fence or straight edge guide. This improves the accuracy of cut and reduces the chance of blade binding.
- Always use blades with correct size and shape (diamond versus round) of arbour holes. Blades that do not match the mounting hardware of the saw will run eccentrically, causing loss of control.
- Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers or bolt. The blade washers and bolt were specially designed for your saw, for optimum performance and safety of operation.
KICKBACK CAUSES AND RELATED WARNINGS

Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, bound or misaligned saw blade, causing an uncontrolled saw to lift up and out of the workpiece toward the operator;
when the blade is pinched or bound tightly by the kerf closing down, the blade stalls and the motor reaction drives the unit rap-idly back toward the operator; -
if the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in the cut, the teeth at the back edge of the blade can dig into the top surface of the wood causing the blade to climb out of the kerf and jump back toward the operator.
Kickback is the result of saw misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below.
- Maintain a firm grip with both hands on the saw and position your arms to resist kickback forces. Position your body to either side of the blade, but not in line with the blade. Kickback could cause the saw to jump backwards, but kickback forces can be controlled by the operator, if proper precautions are taken.
- When blade is binding, or when interrupting a cut for any reason, release the trigger and hold the saw motionless in the material until the blade comes to a complete stop. Never attempt to remove the saw from the work or pull the saw backward while the blade is in motion or kickback may occur. Investigate and take corrective actions to eliminate the cause of blade binding.
- When restarting a saw in the workpiece, centre the saw blade in the kerf and check that saw teeth are not engaged into the material. If saw blade is binding, it may walk up or kickback from the work-piece as the saw is restarted.
- Support large panels to minimize the risk of blade pinching and kickback. Large panels tend to sag under their own weight. Supports must be placed under the panel on both sides, near the line of cut and near the edge of the panel.
- Do not use dull or damaged blades. Un-sharpened or improperly set blades produce narrow kerf causing excessive friction, blade binding and kickback.
- Blade depth and bevel adjusting locking levers must be tight and secure before making cut. If blade adjustment shifts while cutting, it may cause binding and kickback.
- Use extra caution when sawing into existing walls or other blind areas. The protruding blade may cut objects that can cause kickback.
LOWER GUARD FUNCTION
- Check lower guard for proper closing before each use. Do not operate the saw if lower guard does not move freely and close instantly. Never clamp or tie the lower guard into the open position. If saw is accidentally dropped, lower guard may be bent. Raise the lower guard with the retracting handle and make sure it moves freely and does not touch the blade or any other part, in all angles and depths of cut.
- Check the operation of the lower guard spring. If the guard and the spring are not operating properly, they must be serviced before use. Lower guard may operate sluggishly due to damaged parts, gummy deposits, or a build-up of debris.
- Lower guard may be retracted manually only for special cuts such as „plunge cuts“ and „compound cuts“. Raise lower guard by retracting handle and as soon as blade enters the material, the lower guard must be released. For all other sawing, the lower guard should operate automatically.
- Always observe that the lower guard is covering the blade before placing saw down on bench or floor. An unprotected, coasting blade will cause the saw to walk backwards, cutting whatever is in its path. Be aware of the time it takes for the blade to stop after switch is released.
SAFETY WARNING FOR THE LASER
- Do not stare directly at the laser beam. A hazard may exist if you deliberately stare into the beam.
- The laser shall be used and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Never aim the beam at any person or an object other than the work piece.
- The laser beam shall not be deliberately aimed at another person and shall be pre-vented from being directed towards the eye of a person for longer than 0.25 seconds.
- Always ensure the laser beam is aimed at a sturdy work piece without reflective sur-faces, e.g wood or rough coated surfaces are acceptable. Bright shiny reflective sheet steel or similar is not suitable for laser applications as the reflective surface may direct the laser beam back at the operator.
- Do not change the laser device with a different type. Repairs must be carried out by the manufacturer or an authorized agent.
- CAUTION: Use of controls or adjustments other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
FOR USE OF BATTERIES
- CAUTION! Danger of explosion if batteries are incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type. Observe correct polarity.
- Batteries (battery pack or batteries in-stalled) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like. Protect from mechanical shock. Keep dry and clean. Keep away from children.
- Do not open, dismantle, shred or short-circuit batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Dispose of properly. Pay attention to environmental aspects of battery disposal. Do not dispose of in household waste.
- Refer to safety and other instructions on the battery or its packaging.
- In case of battery leakage, remove the batteries and clean the battery compartment thoroughly. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Intended use
The tool is intended for sawing longitudinal, cross and mitre cuts in firmly
supported solid wood, plywood, plastic and lightweight nonferrous construction
materials. The tool is not intended for commercial use.
Any other use (e.g. abrasive wheels) or modification to the tool is considered
as improper use and could cause considerable dangers.
The pre-installed saw blade is intended for use with wood only!
Using the tool
- Check the correct function of the saw blade safety guard 8 using the saw blade guard knob 4.
- Connect the power plug to a suitable socket (see “Technical Data”)
- To switch on the tool, press and hold the safety button 10 and press the On / Off switch 2. After start let go the safety button.
- Start working, when the tool is at maximum speed. While holding it firmly with both hands, slowly push the tool forward through the safely fixed workpiece.
- To switch off the tool, release the On / Off switch 2.
Caution! Do not overheat the blade tips of the saw blade.
Using the laser
- To activate the laser slide the laser On / Off switch 13.
- The laser generates a visible red line on the surface of the workpiece. The tool will cut along this line.
- To deactivate the laser slide the laser On / Off switch 13 back.
Caution! Never stare directly into the laser beam and do not point it at anybody.

PARALLEL GUIDE
Slide the parallel guide into the parallel guide slide in 14. -
Set the desired distance and tighten the parallel guide clamping knob 15.
Caution! Make sure the tool is switched off and unplugged.

CUTTING DEPTH
Pull the cutting depth locking lever 11 upwards. -
Set the desired cutting depth and press down the cutting depth locking lever 11 to secure it.
Caution! Make sure the tool is switched off and unplugged.
MITRE CUTS
- Open the angle clamping knob 16.
- Set the desired angle and tighten the angle clamping knob 16 securely.
Caution! Make sure the tool is switched off and unplugged.
SAW BLADE REPLACEMENT
- Press the spindle lock pin 18 and loos-en the saw blade clamp washers 6 with the hex key anti-clockwise.
- Open the saw blade safety guard 8 pushing the saw blade guard knob 4 clockwise and remove the saw blade 5. Make sure to keep the inner washer at its place.
- Place a new saw blade upon the inner washer (printed side pointing outward) and close the saw blade safety guard 8.
- Press the spindle lock pin 18 again and tighten the saw blade clamp washers 6 with the hex key.
Caution! Make sure the tool is switched off and unplugged and wear
protective gloves.
Caution! Observe that the rotation direction of the saw blade corresponds
with the tool.
Caution! The mounting flange of the big washer must point outwards.
LASER BATTERY REPLACEMENT
- Open the laser battery compartment 20 with a cross-head screwdriver.
- Insert two button cells as indicated. Afterwards close the laser battery compartment 20 with a cross-head screwdriver. Caution! Make sure the tool is switched off and unplugged.
Noise & Vibration
The declared vibration total value and the declared noise emission values have
been measured in accordance with a standard test method (EN 62841-1 & EN
62841-2-5) and may be used for comparing one tool with another. The declared
vibration total value may also be used in a preliminary assessment of
exposure.
Caution! The vibration and noise emission during actual use of the power tool can differ from the declared total value depending on the ways in which the tool is used, in particular, what kind of work piece is machined.
It is necessary to identify safety measures to protect the operator that are
based on an estimation of exposure in the actual conditions of use (taking
account of all parts of the operating cycle such as the times when the tool is
switched off and when it is running idle in addition to the trigger time)
Try to minimize the impact of vibration and noise. Exemplary measures to
reduce vibration exposure include wearing gloves while using the tool,
limiting working time, and using accessories in good condition.
Residual risks
Even if you are operating this product in accordance with all the safety
requirements, potential risks of injury and dam-age remain. The following
dangers can arise in connection with the structure and design of this product:
- Injuries and damage to property due to bro-ken application tools or the sudden impact of hidden objects during use.
- Danger of injury and property damage caused by flying objects.
Dust collection system
Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
To prevent personal injuries, make sure to connect a suitable vacuum cleaner
to the dust extraction port 3. The port is capable of a connector of 35 mm.
Care & Maintenance
Caution! Make sure the tool is switched off and unplugged.

Always keep the tool clean, dry and free of oil or grease.
-
Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes whilst cleaning.
For safe and proper working, always keep the machine and ventilation slots clean. -
Regularly check to see if any dust or foreign matter has entered the grills near the motor and around the on/off switch. Use a soft brush to remove any accumulated dust.
If the body of the tool needs cleaning, wipe it with a soft damp cloth. A mild detergent can be used but nothing like alcohol, petrol or other cleaning agent.- Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.
- Lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals.
- Periodically clean the laser generator from sawdust.
- Periodically check all fixings. These could become loose with time due to vibration.
Caution! If the supply cord is dam-aged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazard.
