LD SHOPPE Stone Furniture Care Instructions
Marble
Pieces of marble furniture are naturally elegant and timeliness investments for your home. Though it is a heavy and solid material, marble is a soft and porous stone that will require the appropriate care and protection. To preserve the appeal and extend its lifespan, follow these care instructions.
RECOMMENDED CARE:
- Apply a marble sealant annually
- Blot spills immediately, water included
- Clean the surface with warm water or marble cleaner
- Buff-dry surfaces using a cotton cloth or a chamois
PROTECT YOUR PIECES:
- Use coasters under all drinks, placemats under plates, and trivets below hot dishes
- Never cut directly on marble or use the surface as a worktop of any kind
- Avoid cleaners with acidic ingredients, such as vinegar or lemon
- Do not apply abrasive cleaners, powders, or creams
- Do not sit, stand, or place heavy objects on marble
- Should a heavier object be placed on the surface, use a protective mat underneath
Concrete
Regular treatment is essential in preserving and protecting concrete stone surfaces. To help avoid soiling or staining concrete, be sure you are following these care instructions to ensure minimal wear and a long lifespan.
RECOMMENDED CARE:
- Use lukewarm water, possibly combined with stone soap, to clean the piece and follow by wiping with a dry cloth
- Always tend to stains as soon as possible;
- For light stains, you can “soak” the spot with water for several hours and then pat dry
- For tougher stains, use concrete-safe cleaner, such as Lithofin MN Power-Clean.
PROTECT YOUR PIECES:
- Avoid acidic cleaners
- Refrain from placing acidic substances on surfaces without protection (such as food containing vinegar, lemon, or acidic drinks like wine)
Use trivets and coasters to protect your surface when applying a hot object
Quartz
Quartz is stain-resistant, chemical-resistant, non-porous, and tough, making it a great option for long-lasting pieces. The material is more resistant to surface damage than comparable stone materials. To maintain the look of quartz and extend its lifespan, follow these simple care instructions.
RECOMMENDED CARE:
- Simply use water and a damp cotton cloth for routine care
- Wipe up any spills up as soon as possible
- If a spill has dried, try using a gentle scrub pad or glass cleaner
PROTECT YOUR PIECES:
- Avoid bleach and abrasive cleaners
- Do not use your surface for a workstation, cut directly on it, and be cautious when moving any materials on the surface that can pose scratching (such as metal)
- Use trivets and coasters to protect your surface when applying a hot object
