WARNINGS

ATTENTION :
Read this booklet carefully as it contains important instructions for a safe installation, use and maintenance.
Important instructions to be kept for future reference.
The following basic precautions should always be followed when using electrical appliances:

  1. Read all instructions before using the appliance.

  2. This appliance must be used only for the purpose it was expressly designed; any use NOT complying with the instructions contained in the manual is considered inappropriate and dangerous. The manufacturer is NOT  responsible for possible damages caused by the inappropriate and/or unreasonable use.

  3. This appliance is NOT suitable to be used in an explosive environment (in the presence of flammable substances such as gas, vapour, aerosol, mist or dust, in atmospheric conditions when, after ignition, the combustion is  spread in the air) or where oxygen is being administered. Items containing these substances should never be placed in the appliance, and never be used to clean the appliance in order to avert the risk of fire or explosion.

  4. The packing materials (plastic bags, expanded polystyrene, etc.) must be kept out of the reach of children or disabled persons since they represent potential sources of danger.

  5. The installation/assembly of the appliance will be made in accordance with the indications of the manufacturer. A wrong procedure may cause damages to persons, animals or objects, for which the manufacturer cannot be  considered responsible.

  6. For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual current not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice

  7. Place  and use the appliance on a horizontal and stable surface.

  8. Before use, check the integrity of the appliance and power cable. In case you are not sure, contact a qualified person. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a qualified  technician in order to avoid a shock hazard.

  9. Before powering the appliance make sure the rating (voltage and frequency) corresponding to the grid and the socket is suitable for the plug of the appliance, and that the wall socket is properly grounded.

  10. DO NOT power the appliance using multiple sockets. If possible, avoid the use of adapters and/or extension cables; if their use is absolutely necessary, use only materials in compliance with the current safety regulations and  according to the electrical parameters of the adapters.

  11. The appliance must NOT be switched on using external timers and/or other remote control appliances which are not specified in this manual.

  12. Only use original components & accessories provided by the manufacturer. Any non-original components & accessories NOT recommended by the manufacturer may cause injuries to persons or damage to the appliance.

  13. During use and storage, the appliance must be kept at a safe distance from heat sources (open flame, ovens, heaters, stoves, etc.) or any flammable and/or potentially explosive substances.

  14. If you are using the appliance for the first time, you should:
    Clean the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth. The appliance may NOT be immersed in water. Wash the Concentrator with water & detergent with a non- abrasive sponge if you wish. DO NOT use metal scouring pads. Dry the Concentrator thoroughly before attaching it onto the appliance. Make sure to remove any label or protective sheet which may prevent its proper functioning.
    DO NOT :
    • use while you are tired or sleepy;
    • cover or block the Air Inlet of the appliance during operation or place it on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where the Air Inlet may be blocked;
    • allow hands, hair, clothing, curtains, and any other objects to come into contact with the appliance’s motor and accessories to avoid personal injury or damage to the machine when the appliance is in operation;
    • drop or insert any object into any opening or hose or insert metal objects into the air grilles to avoid electric shock;
    • use the appliance if blades are bent, chipped, cracked, broken or in any way damaged;
    • tamper with this appliance’s components as doing so may cause unnecessary damage. This appliance contains no user-serviceable parts;
    • place the appliance in the microwave oven or refrigerator for freezing, so as to avoid breaking or damaging it;
    • attachments (Concentrator, Air Inlet Cover) may be hot during use. Allow them to cool before handling;
    • use the appliance on artificial hair;
    • wind the power cable round the appliance;
    • operate the appliance for more than 5 minutes without interruption. Let the appliance rest for 10 minutes between processing cycles. After 3 processing cycles, allow an interval of 15 minutes to let the appliance cool down  before the next use so as to prolong its service life. DO NOT allow the product to idle while in operation;
    • press the Cooling Button or the ON/OFF & Speed Switch too hard so as to avoid any damage;
    • leave the appliance unsupervised during operation.

  15. DO NOT use this appliance while bathing or showering. DO NOT use, place or store this appliance near bathtubs, showers, toilets, basins or other vessels containing water. When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it  after use since the proximity of water presents a risk, even when the appliance is switched off.
    DO NOT operate this appliance if it has a damaged plug or power cable, if it is not working properly, or if it has been damaged or dropped, especially into water. Return the appliance to a service centre for examination and repair.

  16. DO NOT direct hot air toward any person or animal, especially the eyes or other heat sensitive areas to prevent possible burns or scalding. Note: Using human hair dryers can actually harm your pet. Animals such as dogs and  cats have thinner skins (especially domestic cats) than humans and run the risk of being burned if the temperature is set too high. When blow drying your pet’s coat, it is recommended to use a hair dryer specifically designed  for that particular animal.

  17. Before plugging & unplugging the appliance, turn the ON/OFF & Speed Switch to ‘0’ (OFF). Plug and unplug the power cable holding it firmly with dry hands. Always unplug the power cable to avoid overheating and avoid  stretching it (DO NOT pull it, tug it or use it to drag the appliance to which is connected).

  18. During operation, DO NOT touch the appliance with wet body parts, and it is recommended to have between you and the standing surface, an isolating element (for example, wearing shoes with rubber soles).

  19. DO NOT soak the Motor unit of the appliance in water or other liquids, wash it under the tap, or let any liquid flow into the internal casing of the appliance to prevent electric shock. In case of accidental fall in water, DO NOT  try to take it out, but first of all unplug immediately the power cable from the socket.

  20. Place the appliance at a proper distance from other objects or surrounding walls making sure that its functioning will not cause accidental damages.

  21. The appliance should NOT be placed on any surface or in the vicinity of objects which can be damaged by heat, such as carpets or plastics, while in operation or immediately after.

  22. Avoid placing the power cable on abrasive or sharp surfaces or in positions where it can be damaged easily.

  23. Always remember to unplug the power cable of the appliance if it is NOT used for a long period, before changing accessories, storing, cleaning or performing any maintenance operation.

  24. Avoid carrying out operations which are NOT specified in this manual (such as disassembling and/or altering).

  25. In case of malfunction or anomaly during the functioning, switch off the appliance immediately, turn off the power and check the cause of the anomaly, if possible, with the support of a qualified person.

  26. If smoke is observed coming out of the appliance, unplug the power cable immediately.

  27. This appliance is a personal care device and is NOT intended for commercial use.
    This appliance is intended to be used in households and similar applications, such as:
    • Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    • Dormitories;
    • By clients in hotels, motels and other residential environments;
    • Bed and breakfast type environment

  28. DO NOT use or store the appliance outdoors. Store and use the appliance only indoors, or in any case, protected from weathering such as rain, direct radiation of the sun and dust.

  29. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction  concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall NOT play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall NOT be made by children unless they are older than 8 and  supervised. Keep the appliance and its cable out of reach of children less than 8 years old.

  30. Save these instructions.

HOW TO USE

  1. Clean the Motor unit and accessories before using. Refer to the section “How to clean and maintain” immediately following this section.

  2. Drying Basics Towel dry hair to remove excess moisture. Blot with the towel rather than rub the hair to avoid causing excess frizz and split ends.

  3. Comb through and detangle the hair with a wide toothed comb.

  4. Turn the ON/OFF & Speed Switch to ‘0’ (using dry hands), plug the power cable and switch it on. Turn on by selecting desired heat setting.

  5. Direct the appliance at the hair and not the scalp. Begin by briskly blowing all over the hair to remove excess water using Position 3 (Full Power & High Temperature).

  6. When hair is mostly dry, section the hair and begin to style using Position 2 (Half Power & High Temperature) or Position (Full Power & Low Temperature). Begin at the nape of the neck and brush hair while following the  motion with the appliance. Work up to the scalp, sides and front of hair until entire head is dry and desired style in complete.
    Concentrator

  7. The removable Concentrator nozzle allows for styling accuracy and control, whilst creating a more focussed and powerful airflow. Point the concentrator at a 90° angle to the section you are drying while brushing under it,  working from roots to ends. Keep the Concentrator pointed downward at all times and never let it touch the hair.

  8. Should the hair dryer stop working for any reason, turn it off at once and let it cool down.
    Heating Button

  9. When the Heating Button is pressed (and quickly released), hotter air than the normal is blown out. When the Heating Button is depressed, the extra heating is discontinued.

Safety Protection
If the appliance overheats, the thermal switch will be activated, leading to the motor being shut off. Turn the ON/OFF & Speed Switch to ‘0’ (OFF). Switch the product off and unplug the power cable from the electric mains. Allow  the appliance to cool for at least 15 minutes before using the appliance.

HOW TO CLEAN AND MAINTAIN

  1. Turn the ON/OFF & Speed Switch to ‘0’ (OFF). Switch the product off and unplug the power cable from the electric mains.
  2. Clean the Motor unit with a damp cloth. DO NOT immerse the Motor unit in water or other liquids, and avoid spraying water, in order to avoid damage or leakage. If the appliance is sticky or dirty, clean the appliance with a  damp cloth moistened with detergent and gently rub the surface of the appliance. Dry the appliance with a soft, dry cloth. DO NOT use a steel wire sponge, abrasive cleaners or corrosive liquids such as gasoline or acetone to  clean this product. DO NOT use boiling water for cleaning.
  3. Ensure that the product is clean, dry, and placed in dry and well ventilated storage. Avoid direct sunlight.
  4. Keep the Air Inlet free of lint, hair, etc., a build-up often resulting in loss of power, and may lead to sparks as the lint or hair is singed. Detach the Air Inlet Cover by rotating it anti-clockwise and remove any lint or hair present  from both the Air Inlet and its cover. Replace the Air Inlet Cover by rotating it clockwise.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Fault symptom Cause analysis Troubleshooting

Cool air is coming out of the appliance (even when the High Heat setting is selected).| This could be caused by a blockage of hair, dust or some other obstruction in the Air Inlet.| Power off the dryer and unplug it from the power source.
Detach the Air Inlet Cover by rotating it anti-clockwise.
Use a soft bristle brush to gently remove any lint or hair present from both the Air Inlet and its cover. Replace the Air Inlet Cover by rotating it clockwise. If this does not fix the problem, please contact customer service.
The appliance is overheating.
There is a spark coming from the outlet when the appliance is plugged in.
The appliance has no airflow or intermittent airflow.| The power cable could be damaged.| Please stop use and contact customer service.

ENVIRONMENTAL TIP

This appliance, along with all other electronic appliances, should, when it is no longer capable of functioning, be disposed with the least possible environmental damage according to the local regulations in your area. In most cases  you can discard the appliance at your local recycling center.
DISPOSAL: Do not dispose this product as unsorted municipal waste. Collection of such waste separately for special treatment is necessary.

WARRANTY

The manufacturer provides warranty in accordance with the legislation of the customer’s own country of residence, with a minimum of 1 year, starting from the date on which the appliance is sold to the end user.
The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship.
The repairs under warranty may only be carried out by an authorised service centre.
When making a claim under the warranty, the original bill of purchase (with purchase date clearly indicated) must be submitted.
The warranty will not apply in cases of:

  • normal wear and tear
  • if the steps (as laid out in the section regarding Warnings) have not been observed e.g. overloading of the appliance, use of non-approved accessories
  • if the appliance has not been properly maintained, if force has been used against it or if it has been damaged in any other way
  • damage caused by non-observance of the user manual or non-compliance with the installation instructions
  • errors or faults owing to defects in the distribution system
  • if the appliance has been repaired or modified or changed in any way or by any person not properly authorised
