GET STARTED

The V-6042T and V-6044T are indoor/outdoor video cameras that allow users to view live and recorded HD video clips in Virtual Keypad™. The V-6042T records video in 2 Megapixels and the V-6044T records video in 4 Megapixels.

To activate the camera, you need an active Dealer Admin account at dealer.securecomwireless.com

Compatibility

Any active Virtual Keypad account with Cameras & NVRs enabled

Procedure

This guide walks you through the required steps needed to install a V-6042T or a V-6044T camera. They are:

  1. Wire the camera.
  2. Mount the camera.
  3. Activate the camera.
  4. Configure motion detection regions or configure video analytics.

WIRE THE CAMERA

Before connecting the Ethernet cable, install the waterproof Ethernet cap if desired. Refer to Figure 1.

Standard Power Connection
Connect a 12 VDC power supply (not included) to the camera power connector. Connect a network cable to the camera Ethernet connector.

PoE Connection
Connect a network cable to the camera Ethernet connector. Connect the cable to a PoE switch or injector.

MOUNT THE CAMERA

Standard Ceiling Mount
Refer to Figure 2 when mounting the camera

  1. Place the mounting template at the location you want to mount the camera.
  2. Drill holes into the mounting template.
  3. Turn the camera’s mounting base counterclockwise to detach the camera’s cover.
  4. Use the included screws and wall anchors to mount the camera base to the ceiling.
  5. Reattach the camera’s cover to the mounting base

Note: The mounting surface must be capable of holding five times the camera’s weight.

Adjust the Camera
Refer to Figure 3 when adjusting the camera.

  1. Turn the camera’s mounting base counterclockwise to detach the camera’s cover.
  2. Loosen the camera’s tension screw.
  3. Adjust the pan, tilt, and camera rotation angle as needed.
  4. Tighten the tension screw to lock the camera in place.
  5. Reattach the camera’s cover to the mounting base.

Note: Before continuing, remove the film over the IR lens. The IR lens is the lens without indentations, located below the camera lens. See Figure 2.

Adjust the Camera

ACTIVATE THE CAMERA

After you’ve connected the camera to the network, activate it in Dealer Admin or Tech APP.

Dealer Admin

  1. Log in to Dealer Admin.

  2. Find the customer and select the relevant system. Select Edit.

  3. In Video, enable Cameras & NVR, then press Save.

  4. On the System Information page, press the Add Camera button and enter the camera’s MAC Address. Press Next

  5. Enter a name for the camera.

  6. Under Advanced, you can configure the following basic settings:

    • Video Quality
    • Flip Image
    • Record on Alarm
    • Time Zone
    • Observe DST
  7. Press Save.

Tech APP

  1. Log in to Tech APP and select Video.
  2. Find the customer and select the relevant system. Select Edit.
  3. In Video, enable Cameras & NVR, then press Save.
  4. Tap the Add icon in the Cameras section.
  5. When prompted to select a connection type, tap Hardwired.
  6. Enter the camera MAC Address. Press Next.
  7. Enter a name for the camera.
  8. Under Advanced, you can configure the following basic settings:
    • Video Quality
    • Flip Image
    • Record on Alarm
    • Time Zone
    • Observe DST
  9. Press Save

Tech APP 

Note: If you are experiencing issues with activating your camera, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds until the camera restarts, then try again.

CONFIGURE MOTION DETECTION REGIONS

To use the camera without analytics, configure the camera motion detection regions.

  1. Navigate to Dealer Admin and select the camera you want to add a motion detection region to.

  2. In the Regions & Analytics section, select +Region and give it a Name.

  3. Select the sensitivity of the region. Default is 50.

  4. Dealer Admin will populate a 4-point rectangle in camera view screen. Click and drag an endpoint to change the size of the region.

CONFIGURE VIDEO ANALYTICS

To use the camera with analytics, configure the camera video analytics.

  1. Navigate to Dealer Admin and select the camera you want to add video analytics to.

  2. Enable video analytics by using the toggle next to Video Analytics.

  3. In the Regions & Analytics section, select +Region or +Line Cross and give it a Name.

  4. Select the sensitivity of the region. Default is 50.

  5. If +Line Cross has been selected, use the drop down menu to choose whether the direction of the line cross will be an Entry, Exit, or Both.

  6. Select whether the region or line cross will detect People, Vehicles, or Both.

  7. If +Region has been selected, Dealer Admin will populate a 4-point rectangle in camera view screen. Click and  drag an endpoint to change the size of the region. Up to 6 endpoints can be created and manipulated to create a custom region. If +Line Cross has been selected, Dealer Admin will populate a 2-point line in the camera view screen. Click and drag an endpoint to change the length of the line.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Video Privacy in Dealer Admin and Virtual Keypad
In Virtual Keypad, end users can choose to allow video access to technicians and dealers. When video access is enabled, all Administrator level app users will receive a notification email. To enable video access, follow the steps below.

  1. Navigate to Virtual Keypad.
  2. Go to Settings and select Video Privacy.
  3. Use the toggle to grant technicians and dealers unlimited access to the video feed. Use the button to give temporary access. The default is 12 hours, although access can be revoked instantly by pressing the Revoke Access button.

Note: All cameras brought online will immediately be granted access to the video feed for 12 hours.

Replace the SD Card
Refer to Figure 10 for the location of the SD card slot.

  1. Locate the replacement SD card and place it to the side.
  2. Turn the mounting base counterclockwise to detach the camera’s cover.
  3. Insert the SD card into the slot behind the camera lens.
  4. Reattach the camera’s cover to the mounting base.
