INSTALLATION GUIDE
- Remove contents from the package.
- Secure designated mount (B) to the unit with screws, and screw gooseneck to attach mount (gooseneck sold separately).*
- Hang the A160WE 1 to 2 ft. above the object to be illuminated.**
- Connect power cord (A) to the specified DC power supply (I).
- Plug the power supply into an outlet with the correct specifications (see product specifications for more information).
- Adjust the Light Intensity Control (F) and the Spectral Tuning Control (C) to the desired setting. A160WE Tuna Blue tunes from 10,000K – Actinic. A160WE Tuna Sun tunes from 6,000K – 9,000K.
- The jacks beneath the controls can be connected to an external 0~10V controller.
Please consult your controller’s owner’s manual for more information.
The A160WE may also be hung by mounting *two metal hooks (diameters of at
least 2.5 mm and thread numbers of at least 6) through its brackets (H).
The A160WE should only be installed on wood, acoustic tile, or other
similar materials.
For sufficient airflow, the venting holes (E) should be at least 12 in.
from surrounding obstructions.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- DO NOT use a power supply that is outside the specifications. This is a fire hazard and may lead to unit failure.
- DO NOT use outdoors. This unit is intended for indoor use only.
- DO NOT expose the unit to an extremely humid environment or submerse the unit in water. This may lead to unit failure.
- DO NOT place the working illuminator in close contact with any objects. This may cause the objects to heat up and the unit to overheat.
- KEEP the lens away from sharp objects. This may break the lens and lead to unit failure.
- DO NOT cover or place objects on the power supply. The power supply should not be contained in an airtight space.
MAINTENANCE
-
Keep the air venting holes (E), and fan clear of dust. To clean the fan, unplug the unit and insert the tip of a CO2 dust blower (or similar dust blower) in one of the venting
holes (E) on the unit’s outer shell. Hold and spray. You can also gently vacuum the light through the venting holes. -
Keep the lens (G) clean. If the lens becomes contaminated with water, dust, or other particles, unplug the unit and clean the lens with isopropyl alcohol. Wet a cotton swab or a napkin in isopropyl alcohol, gently wipe the surface of the lens and let it dry.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Problem | Solution |
---|---|
The light doesn’t turn ON | Make sure the unit is connected to the power supply |
and the power supply is connected to an outlet with the correct
specifications.
Make sure electrical power is available to the AC outlet being used.
Make sure the power supply has the right specifications.
Make sure the device is operating within the specified operating
temperature range. If the unit overheats, it will automatically shut down.
Unit is flickering| Make sure you are using a power supply with the correct
specifications.
Make sure the unit has not overheated by operating at a room temperature
exceeding 40°C.
Make sure the fan is operating properly.
Controllability
Multiple A160WE lights can be controlled by either a single external 0~10V controller or manually.
CABLES
Available cables:
- Control Cable (Please consult kessil.com for a list of available cables and compatible controllers).
- Unit Link Cable (6′ male/male with 3.5 mm stereo jack).
- Control Extension Cable (6′ male/female with 3.5 mm stereo jack).
STARTING A CHAIN
Connect two or more lights with the Kessil Link Cable, as shown above.
CONTROL METHODS
There are two ways to control a chain of lights:
• With an external controller;
• Without external controller (Tuning Controls on first light control all
other lights in the chain).
Should a longer cable be needed, the Kessil
Extension Link Cable may be used.
Each light has its own independent power supply. Any number of lights can be
daisy chained together without degradation of signal. However, in longer
chains, a slight
delay in response may occur. Manual tuning is disabled when the device senses
the input cable.
