WARNING
Maintaining safety and function
- If the handles become loose, tighten them with a screwdriver.
- Replace handles that are cracked or do not fit correctly.
- Replace damaged glass lids or any damaged cookware.
- Only use original spare parts.
- Refer to our instructions for cleaning and care.
- In the event of repairs contact your specialist dealer.
WARNING
Cooking safely with your Fusiontec cookware Please note that Fusiontec is
an excellent conduc-tor of heat and that the surfaces therefore get very hot
after a short time when cooking and frying on the hob as well as when used in
the oven.
- Always use suitable, heat-resistant oven gloves to avoid injury.
- For safety reasons, always use the grip edges to carry the cookware, and be careful not to touch anybody else with it.
- You must use the handles and ensure a firm grip when moving or carrying hot cookware.
- Only place the hot cookware on heat-resistant surfaces (never on synthetic material).
- Never leave hot cookware unattended.
- Keep children away from the hob while cooking. Never allow children to handle the cook-ware unsupervised.
- Do not touch the surface of the hob immediately after cooking. This also applies to induction hobs. The cooking area gets hot due to the recovered heat of the cookware base.
- When deep frying, make sure you do not close the lid on the cookware. The hot fat could foam over and cause severe burns.
- Never extinguish burning fat with water. Use a lid to extinguish the flames or cover with a wet tablecloth in an emergency.
- Always hold the lid of the cookware at the handle when removing. Never open the lid to the side or towards your body. The steam should always be able to escape away from the body!
WARNING
Handling hot fat correctly
- Thoroughly dab food dry before frying it in hot fat in order to avoid burns caused by hot oil splashes.
- Do not overheat the fat.
- When deep frying, fill the cookware no more than half way with suitable fat.
- When deep frying, make sure you do not close the lid on the cookware. The hot fat could foam over and cause severe burns.
- Never extinguish burning fat with water. Use a lid to extinguish the flames or cover with a wet tablecloth in an emergency.
PROPER USE
STEPS BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Remove all stickers before using for the first time.
- Fill the cookware 2/3 with water, add 2–3 table-spoons of vinegar and then boil the vinegar water for 5–10 minutes.
- Once cool, rinse all of the parts thoroughly by hand and carefully dry the cookware and the lid.
COOKING WITH FUSIONTEC COOKWARE
- Never heat empty cookware for extended pe-riods of time, and ensure that the liquid of cooked food does not completely evaporate. Failure to do so can result in the food being burned and can damage the cookware or heat source.
- Avoid immersing hot glass lids in water or plac-ing them on cold surfaces.
- Do not knock spoons or other kitchen utensils against the pouring rim. This could damage the rim.
- Avoid sliding the cookware back and forth across glass ceramic cooking zones. Lift the cookware instead.
- Always keep the cooking area clean, as residue between the base of the cookware and the glass ceramic hob can scratch the cooking area.
OTHER NOTES AND TIPS FOR USE
- Only use the maximum heating level for boiling or browning. Then turn the heat back down to a medium or low setting.
- Use a low heat particularly when cooking with very little water.
- If the lid is well positioned, it may stick due to the vacuum that is created when cooling down. In this case you must reheat the cookware until the lid becomes free again.
- Pots and lids without synthetic parts are also suitable for use in the oven (see following table).
- If handles on your cookware have become loose, tighten the screw on each handle using a standard household screwdriver. Otherwise, you must no longer use the cookware.
- Synthetic handles that have been damaged through improper handling and damaged glass lids can be replaced by your WMF dealer.
TEMPERATURE SPECIFICATIONS
For use in the oven, refer to the following table. The maximum temperature
resistance depends on the parts with the lowest temperature resistance
(handle, lid or body). Never use the oven’s grill function with glass lids.
USE ON A HOB
Suitable hob types
INFORMATION FOR ELECTRIC HOBS
For more efficient energy use, the hotplate diameter on electric hobs must
match with the diameter of the cookware:
INFORMATION FOR GLASS CERAMIC HOBS
Keep the cooking area clean so that no dirt resi-dues can get between the
bottom of the cookware and the hob. This could scratsch the glass ceramic
surface. Use the hotplate size that corresponds with your cookware for optimum
use of energy.
INFORMATION FOR GAS HOBS
Use the gas burner size that corresponds with your cookware for optimal use of
energy. Adjust the gas flame so that the flame only comes into contact with
the base of the cookware and does not extend beyond it, to prevent damaging
the handles.
INFORMATION FOR INDUCTION HOBS
Please note: induction is a very rapid heat source. Never heat empty cookware
as it can be damaged by overheating. Cooking at high temperatures may produce
a humming noise. This noise occurs for technical reasons and does not indicate
that your hob or cookware is faulty.
PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS
TIPS FOR ROASTING AND BRAISING MEAT
Dab the food carefully before you fry it. to avoid hot oil splashes. Do not
overheat the fat. When frying with fat and braising, always put the fat into
cold cookware and then heat it up on a high heat.
Distribute the fat evenly by rotating the pot. When streaks appear in the fat
or it starts to bubble slightly, add the meat to the cookware and press it
onto the base.
Reduce the heat setting of the hob and wait until the protein has coagulated
and the pores of the meat have sealed. As soon as an appetizing crust has
formed, the meat will detach itself from the base and you can turn it easily
and finish frying according to your taste. When braising, proceed as above,
but turn down the heat setting even further. Fry for 8–10 min-utes on each
side with the lid closed. The cook-ing time depends on the size and type of
the food. With this type of cooking, the meat fries in its own juice and
requires little fat. Nevertheless, be careful with hot fat.
TIPS FOR COOKING WITH LITTLE WATER
This gentle form of preparation uses very little liquid for cooking vegetables
or other food in the covered cookware. To prevent steam from escaping and
interrupting the water steam cycle, the firmly closed lid must not be removed.
Cooking in little water is ideal for vegetables, fish, poultry or the meat of
young animals. With this cooking method, vitamins, minerals and trace elements
are largely retained because they are not rinsed out in the water. You can
mostly refrain from adding salt, as the inherent flavors of the ingredients
are also preserved.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLEANING AND CARE
- After use, rinse with hot water as soon as possible.
- Should food burn and stick despite taking the proper precautions, remove blackened residues immediately. To do so, bring a little water and washing-up liquid to the boil in the cookware, remove from the hob, allow any stubborn food residues to soften and then gently remove them with a soft sponge or brush.
- Do not use any steel wool, scouring agents containing sand or hard sides of sponges.
- To remove stubborn stains use the liquid deter-gent for Fusiontec cookware.
- Fusiontec cookware is dishwasher safe. How-ever, cleaning in the dishwasher can lead to dis-coloration of the surface. This does not impair function. We therefore recommend cleaning by hand.
- Dry the cookware and lid thoroughly after cleaning.
- Dry the cookware well before storing it.
- Stack the pots and frying pans inside each other, so that the handles sit on the rim.
- Where possible, do not store the lid directly on top of the cookware.
