Keep these operating instructions in a safe place.

Instructions for safe use
Fusiontec is an excellent heat conductor. The material absorbs the heat quickly and retains it for a long time.

  • Note that the surfaces get very hot very quickly when cooking and roasting. Always use suitable heat-resistant pan holders.
  • You must only carry the cookware using the handles and be careful not to touch anybody else with the hot cookware.
  • Keep children away from the hob while cooking. Never allow children to handle the cookware unsupervised.
  • Never leave hot cookware unattended.
  • Only place the hot cookware on heat-resistant surfaces (never on synthetic material).
  • Do not touch the surface of the hob immediate-ly after cooking. This also applies to induction hobs. The cooking area gets hot due to the recovered heat of the cookware base.
  • Do not extinguish burning fat with water. Use a blanket or a fire extinguisher.

Instructions for use

  • Remove all stickers before using for the first time.
  • Fill the cookware 2/3 with water, add 2–3 tablespoons of vinegar and then boil the vinegar water for 5–10 minutes.
  • Rinse all the parts thoroughly by hand and carefully dry the cookware.
  • Use the highest heat setting for heating up only. Turn the heat down in good time and cook food over a medium heat.
  • Never heat an empty pan and ensure that the liquid of the cooked food never completely evaporates. Failure to do so can result in the food being burned or damage to the cookware or heat source.
  • Use a low heat when cooking with very little water.
  • Do not knock spoons or other kitchen gadgets on the pouring rim.
  • Pots and lids without synthetic parts are also suitable for use in the oven (see following table).
  • Please note that the handles can become hot. Use pan holders.
  • If the handle of your pot has become loose, tighten the screw on the handle using a stand-ard screwdriver. You must not use the pot again until you have tightened the screw.
  • Synthetic handles that are damaged through improper handling and damaged glass lids can be replaced by your WMF dealer.
  • Avoid thermal shocks from hot glass lids.
  • When cooling down, the lid may stick due to the vacuum that is created. If this happens, gently warm the pot up again and remove the lid.

Temperature specifications when using in the oven

The maximum heat supply depends on the parts with the lowest temperature resistance (handles, lid or body).
Never use the oven’s grill function with glass lids.

Cleaning and care instructions

  • After use, rinse with hot water as soon as possible.

  • Soak stubborn food residues and gently remove them with a sponge or brush.

  • To remove really stubborn food residue, boil a lit-tle water and washing-up liquid in the cookware.

  • Please do not use steel wool or abrasive scouring agents.

  • You can clean cookware with a Fusiontec surface in the dishwasher.
This can lead to discolouration of the plastic handles and the surface, but it does not impair the function. We therefore recommend cleaning by hand.

  • Dry the cookware well before storing it.

  • Stack the pots inside each other, so that the handles sit on the rim.

  • Where possible, do not store the lid directly on top of the pot.

Preparation instructions

Cooking in little water

This gentle form of preparation uses very little liquid for cooking vegetables or other food in the covered pot. To prevent steam from escaping and interrupting the water steam cycle, the firmly closed insertable lid must not be removed. Cooking in little water is ideal for vegetables, fish, poultry or fresh meat. This cooking method largely retains the vitamins, minerals and trace minerals because they are not released into the water and all foodstuffs retain their individual taste. General-ly you do not need to add cooking salt.

Low-fat frying

When frying with fat, always put the fat into the cold pot and then heat it up on a high heat. Distribute the fat evenly by rotating the pot. When streaks appear in the fat or it starts to smoke slightly, add the unseasoned meat to the cookware and press it onto the base. Turn down the heat on the hob. Wait until the protein has coagulated and the pores of the meat are closed. As soon as an appetising crust has formed, the meat will detach itself from the base and you can turn it easily. Dab the food carefully before you fry it to avoid hot oil splashes. Do not overheat the fat.
Fry for 8-10 minutes on each side with the lid closed. The cooking time depends on the size and type of the food.
With this type of cooking with a closed lid, meat fries in its own juice and requires little fat.
Be careful with hot fat.

Deep-frying

Fill the cookware no more than half way with suitable fat. Do not use a lid. This prevents burns caused by fat frothing over.

Information for all kinds of hob

Fusiontec cookware from WMF is suitable for all kinds of hob and in sizes that are suitable for domestic use.

Information for electric hobs

For more efficient energy use, the hotplate diame-ter on electric hobs must match with the diameter of the pot:

  • Hotplate Pot
  • small ø 14.5 cm ø 16 cm
  • medium ø 18 cm ø 20 cm
  • large ø 22 cm ø 24/28 cm

Information for induction hobs

Please note that induction is a very rapid heat source. Never heat an empty pot, as overheating the cookware can damage it. Cooking at high tem-perature may produce a humming noise. This noise occurs for technical reasons and does not indicate that your hob or cookware is faulty.
The pot base diameter and the hob size must match. If not, especially for smaller base diameters, it is possible that the hob (magnetic field) will not react to the base of the pan.

Information for glass ceramic hobs

Do not pull or push the cookware across the hot-plate, as this may scratch the glass ceramic hob. Keep the cooking area clean, as residue between the base of the pot and the cooking area can scratch the glass ceramic surface.

Information for gas hobs

Never use a gas flame that is wider than the diame-ter of the pot base.
Make sure that the flames do not come up the sides of the pot as this can damage the plastic handle.
