MetroTrux Bulk Trux with Doors
Product Information
The MetroTruxTM is a versatile cart designed for various purposes, including transporting and organizing items. It is made of LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) for durability and easy cleaning. The cart comes in different configurations, such as bulk truck with or without doors, and convertible true for laundry.
Product Usage Instructions
Cleaning Instructions
- For lightly soiled surfaces:
- Use a soft cloth with a mild detergent and water solution.
- Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.
- For heavily soiled surfaces:
- Use a soft brush and an emulsion-based cleaner.
- Ensure that the cleaner is recommended for use on plastics, stainless steel, and zinc-plated surfaces.
- Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, scouring powders, cleansers, stiff brushes, or steel wool.

Refer to the chart below for a list of commonly used disinfecting and sterilizing products that are acceptable for use on the MetroTruxTM. If you are unsure about the use of an unlisted product, please consult your Metro representative.

CLEANING/DISINFECTING INSTRUCTIONS (Manual Cleaning & Disinfecting)
For cleaning lightly soiled surfaces
- Use a soft cloth with a mild detergent and water solution.
- After cleaning, rinse thoroughly, and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.
For cleaning heavily soiled surfaces
- Use a soft brush and an emulsion-based cleaner. If possible, always ensure that the cleaner is recommended for use on plastics, stainless steel, and zinc-plated surfaces, and be sure to follow any special instructions from the detergent manufacturer. After cleaning, rinse thoroughly and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.
- The use of abrasive cleaners i.e. scouring powders and cleansers, as well as stiff brushes and/or steel wool soap pads, is NOT recommended.
For disinfecting and/or sterilizing surfaces
Refer to the chart below for a listing of commonly used disinfecting and sterilizing products that are acceptable and unacceptable for use. The list of products is by no means complete and if you are unsure about the use of an unlisted product, please consult your Metro representative for more information.

- Acceptable ratings for listed disinfectants are based on ambient use temperature not exceeding 72° F. (22°C.), using the proper dilution ratios, and not exceeding the minimum exposure times recommended by the manufacturer.
- The frequency of cleaning for MetroTrux Linen Carts is to be determined by the end user and/or to meet compliance with applicable cleaning guidelines or standards for the facility.
RECOMMENDED CART WASHING GUIDELINES
- The Cart Wash Chamber must be non-pressurized.
- Water temperatures and hot air drying up to 180°F (82°C.) are allowed with an exposure period not to exceed 30 minutes.
- Alkaline-based cart wash detergents containing sodium hydroxide and/or potassium hydroxide are acceptable provided the detergent concentration does not exceed the manufacturer’s recommendation.
- Enzymatic cart wash detergents are acceptable provided the cart wash detergent concentration does not exceed the manufacturer’s recommendation.
- Neutral ph cart wash detergents are acceptable provided the cart wash detergent concentration does not exceed the manufacturer’s recommendation.
- Phosphoric acid-based cart wash detergents are acceptable provided the cart wash detergent does not exceed the manufacturer’s recommendations.
CASTER MAINTENANCE
- Regularly inspect this product.
- Tighten loose fasteners and replace worn or damaged parts with new InterMetro-approved parts. For mobile units, regularly inspect casters and replace worn or damaged casters
immediately; lubricate casters regularly (if equipped with grease fittings).

TYPICAL CONFIGURATIONS
- A. Standard Storage Configuration – Offers three levels of storage. Typically used for the storage of clean linens.
- B. Bulk Storage Configuration – With both shelves in their vertical position, a large storage area is created to contain bulky items. Typically used for the collection of soiled linens.
- C. Bin and Shelf Combination – With the lower shelf in the vertical position a smaller bin storage area is created with shelf storage above.
TO CONVERT SHELVES TO VERTICAL
- A. Lift the rear of the lower shelf out of slots
- B. Slide shelf forward
- C. Rotate the rear of the shelf downward
- D. Lower shelf
CONVERT SHELVES DURING BULK UNLOADING
- As contents are removed, shelves may be converted to allow easier access to lower contents. As contents approach the bottom of the upper shelf, the upper shelf may be lifted straight up and swung back to its horizontal position.
- As contents reach the bottom of the lower shelf, the lower shelf may be lifted and swung outward and up to hook onto the upper shelf, creating an access area below for easier unloading of remaining items.

SHELVES INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAINT
NOTICE: Use KRYLON FUSION PAINT in the field to paint the facility name, location, department, etc on the cart body.
Process
- Use Krylon Fusion for Plastics paint following the manufacturer’s painting instructions.
- For old plastic, wipe the surface down with ammonia-based cleaner following the cleaner manufacturer’s instructions.
- For new plastic, quickly wipe over the surface with mineral spirits following the solvent manufacturer’s instructions.
