easy home EMT-A12 Digital Oral Thermometer

INTENDED USE

The Easy@Home EMT-A12 Digital Thermometer is intended for the measurement and monitoring of human body temperature at home.

WHAT IS A “NORMAL” TEMPERATURE?

Although the generally accepted “normal” temperature reading is 98.6°F/37.0°C, temperature readings can vary from 97.0°F /36.1°C to 99.0°F/37.2°C and still be considered “normal”. Variations in temperature can be attributed to activities such as exercise, smoking, eating, and drinking. Also, your temperature is lower in the morning than in the afternoon. Another variation to consider is measurement method such as: oral, rectal, or axillary. While oral temperature taking is the most adopted way, a rectal temperature is generally 1.0°F/0.5°C higher than an oral reading. Conversely, an axillary (under the arm) temperature will be 1.0°F /0.5°C lower than an oral reading.

HOW TO TAKE YOUR TEMPERATURE

  1. Press ON/OFF button to turn on. The thermometer will beep and all of the display symbols appear. This test display will last for about 1.5 seconds on the LCD display screen.

  2. The temperature taken the previous time will be displayed with the “M”indicator and “°FfC” on the right side of the LCD display. Then the ambient temperature or a sign of “Lo” followed by a blinking °F or °C appears that indicates the thermometer is ready for measurement taking.
    Note:

    • If the last measurement is normal, LCD will display a green backlight upon the thermometer turned on; if the last measurement is higher than 100.04I F/37.8 °C, LCD will display a red backlight;
    • The “Lo” sign doesn’t mean low battery, you are still able to test the temperature immediately.
    • Even if the “Lo” sign fails to display (when only the temperature is displayed), this is not an error. Just take the temperature like normal.
    •  When the environment or ambient temperature is higher than 109.2°F(42.9°C), LCD will display Hi °F (Hi °C). In this case, you may need to wait till the temperature is lower than 109.2°F(42.9°C) to take.
  3. After measurement, the beep will sound when temperature measurement is complete.

  4. Press ON/OFF button to turn off the thermometer.
(The thermometer will automatically power off after approximately 1 minute after non-use.)

MEMORY RECALL

While the thermometer is off, press and hold the ON/OFF button for about 4 seconds to enter the Memory Recall mode. Then, briefly press the ON/OFF button to scroll through each saved measurement, starting from the most recent one. Press and hold the ON/OFF button to skip over unwanted records. The thermometer will exit memory recall mode when you long press ON/OFF or when you do not press any button for about 60 seconds. Memory recalls up to 30 measurements.

HOW DO YOU SWITCH BETWEEN CELSIUS AND FAHRENHEIT?
When the thermometer is off, press and hold the power button for about 8 seconds till you see an M followed by the measurement unit you want to set. Repeat the procedure to switch back.

TAKING AN ORAL TEMPERATURE

Place the probe tip under the tongue closest to the heat pocket.
Approximate Measuring time: 8 seconds.
Important Notice: For best testing, is suggested to close your mouth at least 2 minutes before temperature laking, and keep your mouth closed tightly throughout the temperature measuring to ensure more accurate measurement.

TAKING AN UNDERARM TEMPERATURE
Wipe the underarm with a dry towel and place the probe tip under the arm so the tip is touching the skin. Make sure the thermometer is perpendicular to the body. Put arm across the chest so the probe tip is covered properly.
Approximate Measuring time: 8 seconds.
Note: Underarm temperatures are generally 1 F or 0.5 C lower than oral readings.
Suggestion: Close your armpit at least 5 minutes before temperature taking for a more accurate measurement before placing the thermometer in the armpit for reading.

TAKING A RECTAL TEMPERATURE
Apply a water-soluble lubricant to the probe cover. Gently insert the probe (MAXIMUM½”) into the rectum.
Approximate Measuring time: 8 seconds.
Note: Please remember that the rectal temperature is a litter higher than oral temperature (about 1 For 0.5 C). Be cautious not to insert the probe into the rectum too deep to avoid injury.

The battery in your digital thermometer needs to be replaced when “(z:i” appears in the lower right corner of the display. Replace the battery with a 3.0V, CR2032 or equivalent.
