with safety helmets for work at heights, woodland and industrial work in
accordance with EN 166:2001.
The face protector meets the requirements of ANSI Z87.1:2020. This article
guarantees high level optical performance comparable to the standards
requirements of “spectacle” category following the ANSI Z87.1 standard.
It can therefore be considered as primary protection and does not require the
wearing of additional safety spectacles or goggles.
ATTENTION:
this item provides the indicated performances in the position of use only;

cannot be used individually unless in combination with ZENITH, ZENITH PL,

(e.g. electrical hazards).
The face protector covered by this manual is a type II category Personal
Protective Equipment and as such has undergone an EU-type examination
procedure with application of the requirements set out in Annexes V and VI of
EU Regulation 2016/425. The EU certification procedure was carried out by the
notified body Certottica Scrl NB 0530 – Z.I. Villanova, 7 – 32013 Longarone

RISK AGAINST WHICH THE PPE IS INTENDED TO PROTECT
For the risks the device is intended to protect against, please refer to the
appropriate marking.
Warning: protection devices against high-speed particles worn over reference
ophthalmic spectacles, can transmit potentially dangerous impact for the user.
Warning: If the symbols F, B and A are not common to both the face protector
and the structure, the lower level must be assigned to the complete face
protector.
Warning: if protection against high-speed particles at extreme temperatures is
required, the selected face protector should be marked with the letter T
immediately after the impact letter, i.e. FT, BT or AT. If the impact letter
is not followed by the letter T, the face protector should only be used
against high-speed particles at room temperature.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
As a preventive measure, it is imperative to use the face protector throughout the course of the work or sports activities. For adequate protection, the face protector must be securely mounted on the helmet in order to offer maximum safety. The face protector must be adjusted to fit the wearer; it should be positioned in such a way as to minimize the intrusion of any external agents that could damage the eyes.
The protective material covered by this manual consist of hypoallergenic materials. However, some particularly sensitive users could have allergic reactions. In this case, it is recommended to discontinue use and, where appropriate, consult your doctor.
FITTING THE VISOR TO THE HELMET:
For the application use only KASK adapters
1_Identify the right and / or left adapter (WAC00009) (recognizable by the
letter R and L located on the back of the adapter) and insert it into the
provided seat and press it until the hooking “click” (fig. 1). Repeat the
operation on the other side. The two adapters are thus fixed to the helmet
shell (fig. 2). 2_Hook the face protector to the support (WAC00010) by
matching the three hooking teeth to the seats (fig. 3). Close the red levers
inwards to lock the face protector (fig. 4). 3_Place the hooking branch of the
face protector over the adapter (fig.5), hook it to the black side tooth of
the adapter and align the two reference lines (fig.6). Now pull the slider
outwards, press the face protector towards the helmet and release the slider
to attach the face protector (fig.7). Repeat the operation on the other side.
4_To remove the face protector, place it in the UP position (fig.8), starting
on one side, pull the slider on the face protector adapter outwards (fig. 7)
and release it by pulling it towards the back of the helmet. Repeat the
operation on the other side. 5_To release the face protector from the support
(WAC00010), rotate the two red levers internally, thus freeing the face
protector from the support. 6_To remove the adapter from the helmet, press the
hooking tooth positioned inside the shell outwards (fig. 9) and extract it.
CLEANING
Remove the face protector from the helmet and clean it using only water and neutral soap. Leave to dry naturally at room temperature. Absolutely avoid the use of chemical detergents, solvents, petrol or abrasive powders as they are aggressive materials that could cause a reduction in the structural strength of the face protector. Never rub the lens when it is dry.
STORAGE
Store in a dry and warm place away from UV rays. When not in use and during transport, it is best to keep the face protector protected from direct sunlight and away from heat sources. We recommend storing the face protector in the original package. Do not apply adhesives, solvents, stickers and paint if not in compliance with the manufacturer’s specifications. Any unplanned repair or modification may adversely affect the protective function of the face protector.
TRANSPORT
There are no special precautions for transporting the device.
LIFESPAN
The KASK articles and accessories made of plastic may have a maximum duration of 10 years starting from the year of manufacture stated on the product.
The lifespan of the face protector depends on several degenerative factors, including changes in temperature, the amount of exposure to direct sunlight and the more or less intense use. Regularly check the face protector for the presence of any damage. Vision alteration, scrapes, and scratches are detectors of deterioration of the face protector, and we recommend replacing it. Dispose of and replace the product in the following cases:
- Product with a production date older than 10 years
- Product subject to a strong impact, fall or mechanical deformation.
- Product that does not meet the control
- Product of questionable origin and history of use.
WARRANTY
KASK guarantees against any material or manufacturing defect for 3 years. The warranty does not cover defects caused by normal wear and tear, modifications, incorrect storage, improper maintenance or uses other than those for which the device has been certified.
