Fitting Guide

The correct position on your head

  1. Loosen off the retention system and place the helmet on your head.

  2. The correct position of the helmet is just out of your eyeline, not touching your eyebrows. Make sure the helmet is not leaning forward too much, as it can block your sight. The helmet should also not sit too much backwards, because then it will not protect against frontal impacts.

  3.  Tighten up the retention system by turning the adjustment knob on the back until the helmet feels snug.
    Adjust the straps

  4. Adjust the strap tension at the buckle so that the helmet is strapped snugly. Tighten the strap as required to obtain a snug fit. With the helmet on and tightly fastened, make sure the helmet cannot be removed from your head or rolled backward or forward excessively. Be sure the buckle is not pressing against your jawbone.

  5. When properly fitted and adjusted, your ears should not be covered by any part of the straps.
    Final checks

  6. Make sure the helmet is not blocking your peripheral vision. To check for proper tension, put on the helmet and fasten the buckle. Open your mouth. You should feel the strap pulling against your chin. Then attempt to pull the helmet off the front or rear. If the helmet comes off, increase the strap tension and examine if thick enough pads are being used. The helmet should not be able to roll forward or backward excessively. It should not be possible to remove the helmet without unfastening the buckle.
NOTE: Please check adjustment every time you wear your helmet.

Charging Your Helmet

Although the helmet should work right out of the box, it’s best to give it a full charge first. The charging port can be found on the back of the helmet. Lift the flap that is covering the port, plug in the USB-C cable in the helmet and plug in the power in a USB-port or outlet. The helmet has a charging light close to the power button which lights up red when charging and turns green when fully charged. It will take about 3-4 hours to fully charge.

Turning Helmet On/Off

  • Turn the helmet on- the power button is on the back of the helmet. Give it a short press to turn the helmet on. The front and rear lights will turn on and the helmet will give a quick beep to let you know it’s on – depending on your settings.
  • Turn the helmet off- simply press and hold the power button until the helmet shuts off.

Inserting Batteries In Remote Lite

The Remote Lite comes with a replaceable 3V Lithium battery CR2032. To insert the battery in the Remote Lite, you can follow 4 easy steps:

  1. Grab a small coin and slot it in the groove at the back of the remote.
  2.  Turn it counterclockwise to allow the back panel to come off.
  3.  Insert the battery inside, by following the markings inside the remote and on the battery.
  4. Place the back panel on the remote and close it shut.

Pairing Remote Lite With Helmet

The Remote Lite will be pre-paired with your helmet out of the box. Simply press either of the buttons on the remote and when the helmet is on it will activate the turn signal. Press the same remote button to turn the signal off. If that would not work for you, you can pair the devices by following these steps:

  1. Press and hold the helmet’s power button to turn on the helmet until it’s in pairing mode. For Ultra E-Bike Helmet the rear lights will be blinking orange and the front lights will look like they are “breathing”.
  2. Make sure the remote and helmet are close to each other. Touching is best.
  3. Hold both buttons on the Remote Lite until the remote’s light starts flashing.
  4. Wait for 1-2 seconds before activating the L button on the remote. You should now see the turn signal on the helmet turning on.
  5. If it doesn’t activate the helmet, try steps 1-3 again, and then activate the R button on the remote.

Pairing Helmet With App

To get the most out of the helmet, you can download the Lumos Companion app on the App Store for iPhones or the Google Play Store for Android phones. After you have downloaded the app, you will have to pair the helmet with your phone. Simply:

  1. Turn on the helmet in pairing mode (when the helmet is off, hold the power button until the helmet blinks orange rear lights).
Note : make sure you’ll be holding the power button long enough to enter pairing mode, if you press it too short the helmet will just turn on in normal mode.

  2. Open the Lumos Companion app and turn on Bluetooth on your phone.

  3. Go to “Help Center” > “Pair” with a new helmet. On Android, this starts automatically.

Automatic Brake Lights

The helmet comes with Lumos Remote Lite. In order to activate automatic brake lights, please purchase the Lumos Remote and follow the instructions from the packaging

Buckling / Unbuckling Fidlock

To lock, slide the buckle with the fidlock logo laterally. It should automatically snap. To unlock, slide laterally away. It should snap off.

Cleaning Your Visor

Use a microfibre or soft cloth with lukewarm soapy water to clean the visor. Do not scrub heavily as it is very easy to damage / scratch the visor. Be gentle. Warm water is cheaper than a new visor. Note: Do not try and remove the visor from the helmet. The visor is non-detachable and you might risk damaging the electronics of the helmet. This might void your warranty.
