FIREFLY QUICK START GUIDE
- Download Lumos App and Pair Devices
- Setup Sync Grid and Remote
- Double Tap to Sync
FIREFLY KEY COMMANDS
- Power button – Single press: Powers on Firefly, and cycles through flash patterns.
- Power button – Double press: Sync flash patterns with other Firefly.
- Power button – Long press: While Firefly is off, enters pairing mode. While Firefly is on, turns off the device.
FIREFLY CHARGING INDICATORS
The Lumos Firefly has a small LED indicator to convey different information. Please note the colours below and the corresponding message.
- Red LED light – Firefly is charging.
- Green LED light – Firefly is fully charged.
- Yellow LED light – Firefly has temporarily paused charging to allow it to charge within acceptable operating temperatures*.
*For optimal charging, charge in ambient temperatures of <=30°C. If charging gets too hot, Firefly will temporarily stop charging to protect itself from overheating. Charging will automatically resume once it has cooled down sufficiently.
CHARGING FIREFLY
When the battery is low, place your Firefly into the Charging Cradle and
connect it to a power source.
A red LED light should appear indicating it’s charging.
Firefly is fully charged when the red LED light on Firefly turns green. It
takes roughly 5 hours for a full charge.
Note: Firefly is Qi-compatible and can also be charged with other Qi wireless chargers.
PAIRING FIREFLY
Press and hold the Firefly power button for a few seconds until it enters
‘pairing mode’. In ‘pairing mode’, Firefly lights will breathe on and off.
Download the Lumos App via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and head
to the pairing screen in the app.
Click “Pair”. Your Firefly should pair within a few seconds. If it is not,
repeat steps process.
MOUNTING PADDING
When riding with Firefly, it is important to get the right angle to ensure the most optimal riding position. That’s why we’ve included multiple sets of padding to suit different needs.
Seatpost padding allows you to mount Firefly at an angle. It is most suited
for use on seatposts or other positions that require angled mounting, like
forks.
Low profile padding is flat and suited for most other mounting positions (ie:
handlebar)
Slot the protruding ends into the designated holes located below the universal
mount
SILICONE STRAP MOUNTING
Attach the appropriate padding to the mount.
To mount the Universal Mount, secure the silicone strap into one of the hooks
on the mount. Pull it around your desired mounting surface and secure the
strap in the opposite hook.
VELCRO STRAP MOUNTING
The velcro strap provided can be used to mount the Firefly in more unusual
places that cannot be achieved with the silicone straps, such as around an arm
or a non-smart helmet.
To use the velcro strap, feed it through the two slots in the base of the
Universal Mount as shown. Ensure that the Lumos logo is facing down when you
feed the velcro through the hole.
Wrap the velcro around the mounting feature you are trying to mount to. In
some instances, you may need to wrap the velcro around multiple times. Ensure
a tight fit to reduce unwanted vibrations.
SYNCING FIREFLY
Syncing all of your Firefly lights is as simple as double-tapping the power button. Any surrounding Firefly lights will then sync to the same pattern.
UNLOCK YOUR ECOSYSTEM
Download the Lumos App to unlock the full potential of Firefly
- Enabling brake lights and turn signals
- Configuring sync settings
- Assigning Firefly command profiles
- Automatic off capability
IDENTIFY YOUR FIREFLY AT A GLANCE
All Lumos Firefly come with a set of navigational stickers to tell all your
Firefly lights apart.
When using multiple Firefly lights in your setup, place the sticker
corresponding to its profile in the indentation on the rear of Firefly.

WORRIED THAT FIREFLY WILL FALL OUT EVEN WITH THE STRONG MAGNETS?
We’ve designed mounting clips specifically to give extra peace of mind to
prevent Firefly from falling out of its base.
Note: under normal cycling conditions and even fairly rough terrain, we never encountered an issue with Firefly falling out.
To use the mount clips, simply insert them into the side of the Universal
Mount as shown. You’ll need to install both clips for this to work as
intended.
Now when you place a Firefly into the Universal Mount, you should be able to
feel the clips engage. You may need to push the Firefly in to secure it fully.
To remove Firefly, press both clips at the same time. Feel free to keep the
clips attached if you prefer to do so. The Universal Mount was designed to
work both with and without the clips.
