Safety
- This section contains all the safety-relevant information. Read all safety information thoroughly before handling the product and observe it during use.

Intended use
- The X-Flow is a ventilation device with heat recovery and provides quiet, effective ventilation. The device is ideal for use in living rooms, bedrooms, and offices. The X-Flow is not intended for use in areas with high humidity or temperature.
- Any other product use constitutes improper use.
Compliance with other regulations
- In addition to the information in these Service and maintenance instructions, always comply with the legal accident prevention and environmental protection regulations and the general accident prevention regulations.
Improper use
- Use of the product for a purpose other than that described in section Section 2.1 “Intended use is considered improper use.

Operating personnel requirements
- The X-Flow is a building product that must be maintained by sufficiently qualified construction personnel.
Only those who meet the following requirements may handle the product:
- They have completely read and understood these Service and maintenance instructions.
- They are at least 18 years old.
- They are in good health and at full physical and mental strength.
- They can read construction drawings and plans and carry out corresponding instruc-tions.
- They are regularly trained on difficulties, hazards, and specific rules of behavior.
- They keep the workplace clean and orderly.
- They wear the required personal protective equipment to ensure occupational safety.
- They always comply with the applicable safety and accident prevention regulations.
Personal protective equipment
- During work, always wear the prescribed protective equipment. The standard protective equipment is sufficient for performing maintenance on the product.
The following basic protective equipment must be worn:
- Form-fitting protective work clothing,
- Protective work shoes with a solid toecap and anti-slip sole,
- Safety glasses and helmets are as necessary (for example, during overhead drilling, sawing, or sanding).
Hazard sources
- The following section explains any residual risks to personnel and the possibility of property damage for individual product life cycle stages. When handling the product, observe the safety information to prevent injury and property damage.
Maintenance
- When performing maintenance on the product, observe the following safety information to prevent injury and property damage.
Electrical hazards
- The product is powered by electricity. Improper installation and maintenance or damaged electrical components may lead to extremely serious injury from electric shock.
- Work on electrical components may be performed only by a qualified electrician in accordance with electrical regulations.
- Electrical components must be installed according to local laws and regulations.
- Prior to working on electrical equipment, disconnect all components from mains and secure them against being switched back on.
Mechanical danger
- The X-Flow is equipped with rotating fan blades and other mechanical components that can cause injuries.
- Do not modify the device.
- Do not open the device during operation.
Damage from foreign bodies
- If objects, small animals, leaves, or similar enter the outer wall ducts, this can lead to functional impairments and damage to the device or other components.
- Ensure that outer wall ducts are never left open and unprotected.
Maintenance instructions X-Flow
To ensure that the device operates safely and economically and to prevent damage to it, clean the air ducts and insect screen thoroughly. This should be done in conjunction with a filter change.
Filter maintenance interval
- Normal use (in dwellings and offices, for instance): about two years; earlier if the “FIL-TER” message appears on the screen.
- Intensive use (in care facilities and schools, for instance) : about one year; earlier if the “FILTER” message appears on the screen.
Replacing the filter
Hex wrench
- Switch your device to service mode.
- Hold + and – for eight seconds.
- All LEDs light up.
- Wait one minute for the device to stop completely before opening the side panel.
- Remove the accessible side panel from the device. To do this, first unscrew the Allen screw on the top of the device. You can then unhook the side panel upwards.
- Remove both filter caps.
- Remove both dirty filters.
- Insert the new supply air filter (bottom) and extract the air filter (top).
- Replace both filter caps.
- Replace the side panel on the device.
- Reset the maintenance interval. Do this by holding + and – for six seconds.
- The maintenance interval is reset.
- The filters are replaced.
Cleaning the air ducts and insect screen
Hex wrench, vacuum cleaner
- If your device is no longer in service mode, switch it back to service mode.
- Do this by holding + and – for eight seconds.
- All LEDs light up.
- Wait one minute for the device to stop completely before opening the side panel.
- Vacuum out the insect screen with a vacuum cleaner.
- Remove the accessible side panel from the device. To do this, first unscrew the Allen screw on the top of the device. You can then unhook the side panel upwards.
- Remove the caps from both air ducts.
- Wipe off the caps with a cloth.
- Vacuum out the air ducts with a vacuum cleaner.
- Replace the caps.
- Replace the side panel on the device.
- Press any key to leave service mode.
- The device is ready to operate.
- The insect screen has been cleaned.
- The air ducts have been cleaned.

Upon receipt, use the delivery note to check the delivery for completeness and transport damage. Report missing items immediately (within 14 days) to your supplier, dealer, or factory representative.

Disposal
