Getting started
1.1. Safety signs

Be sure to follow the instructions below that are provided to prevent injury to you and others or property damage. Moreover, the following signs are used to classify and explain the degrees of possible harm and damage that may occur if the product is used incorrectly by the neglect of given signs and instructions.
Warning
Indicates a “hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury.”
Caution
Indicates a “hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury or property damage -
The safety instructions are classified with the following pictograms.
This pictogram is used for “don’ts” that you must not do.
This pictogram is used for “do’s” that you must do.
1.2. Safety precautions
Warning
**** Observe the following to prevent short-circuits, electric shock, and
damage:
- Turn off the power before wiring or repairs, including replacement of the fuse.
- Install the product correctly. (Do not leave the cover off. Do not use with the cover off.)
- If installing this product requires construction, have the work done by a professional contractor. Failure to follow this instruction may result in electric shock, fire, or falling objects.
After installing this product on a machine, be careful not to grab the product and climb on the machine or catch it when removing the machine cover. Doing so may cause the product to tip over or fall, which is extremely dangerous.
Caution
Do not listen to the buzzer at close range. Failure to observe this
may lead from irritation to permanent damage to the ears.
Do not use the product with the O-ring or waterproof sheet removed.
Failure to follow this instruction may cause breakdown with the deterioration
of waterproof performance.
Do not use the product near a flame or in a hot and humid or a corrosive
or flammable atmosphere. Failure to follow this instruction may cause a
breakdown or malfunction.
When you attach/detach the head cover and buzzer unit, do not touch the
internal connector terminal. Failure to follow this instruction may cause a
breakdown.
Do not use this product near equipment or wires that generates strong
electrical or magnetic fields. Failure to follow this instruction could result
in product malfunction from inductive noise.
Do not use this product near chemicals. This product could melt or
become deformed if exposed to chemicals.
Do not bend the M12 cable unnecessarily. Failure to follow this
instruction could result in disconnection and malfunction or equipment damage.
When packing or unpacking equipment that the product is attached to, be
careful not to snag the product. Failure to follow this instruction may result
in equipment damage.
Note
- When this product is used for security purposes, it should be inspected daily. In case a malfunction should occur, it is recommended that you use this product together with other security products.
- Before handling static-sensitive parts of this product, discharge any static electricity from the body. (To prevent damage from static electricity, place your hand or other body part onto a metal object or to an earth ground.)
- Use a soft cloth moistened with water to wipe off any dirt or grime on the main unit. (Do not wipe with thinners, benzine, gasoline, or oil.)
- Observe the following when handling product parts:
– Other than parts that you can remove, do not disassemble any parts.
– Do not modify this product.
– Use only the replacement parts specified in the general instruction manual [Web version].

Device Mounting and Wiring
Warning
Be sure the power is disconnected before performing any installation or
maintenance work. Failure to follow this instruction may result in electric
shock or burning of the internal circuit.
Caution
Do not touch the connector the internal LED. Failure to follow this
instruction may damage the product.
Do not apply excessive force on the product. Doing so may damage the
product.
Install in a location with low vibration and sufficient strength.
This product can only be mounted in upright position.
Use this product indoors only. (Do not use outdoors.)
If increased waterproofing is required on an uneven mounting surface,
seal the gap between the product and the mounting surface.
5.1. Mounting Surface Dimensions
If mounting, prepare the mounting surface according to the below diagram.

5.3. Mounting Procedure for Direct Mounting
To mount the product, follow the procedures below.

Check the mounting position of the product.

Make a mounting hole in the mounting position of the product.
(→ See “5.1. Mounting Surface Dimensions.”) -
Turn the body in the counterclockwise direction and remove the body from the bracket.

Remove the M30 nut from the bracket.

Attach the bracket to the mounting position.

Secure the bracket to the mounting position with the M30 nut.
Recommended tightening torque| 4.5N・m

Pass the M12 cable through.

Align the M12 cable alignment with the M12 connector alignment to attach the M12 cable.

Turn the body in the clockwise direction and mount the body to the bracket.
5.4. Mounting Procedure for NPT Pole
To mount the product, follow the procedures below.
- Check the mounting position of the product and the NPT pole.
- Turn the body in the counterclockwise direction and remove the Body from the bracket.
- While holding part ʻAʼ, attach the Bracket to the NPT pole.
Recommended tightening torque| 2.25N・m
---|--- - Pass the M12 cable through.
- Align the M12 cable alignment with the M12 connector alignment to attach the M12 cable.
- Turn the body in the clockwise direction and mount the body to the bracket.
