DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE
- Halogen lamp
- Grill cover
- Heat-insulated handle
- Screw, gasket and wing nut
- Adjustment knob
- Fixing knob
- Parasol post clamp
- Light holder
SETTING UP AND OPERATION
-
Rotate off the wing nut and handle; use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and gasket, then open the grill cover.
-
Take the halogen lamp out of the packaging and place it in the light holder fitted with a spring. Ensure that it is connected horizontally and the two ends of the halogen lamp make firm contact with the light holder.
-
Screw back the grill cover. Make sure the screw, gasket, wing nut and heat-insulated handle are in their positions and the grill cover is correctly fixed. The heat-insulated handle should stay far away from the light housing and grill cover in order not to be too hot when the appliance is working.
-
Make the same assembly to the other two lights.
Caution! Never use the appliance without the protective grill cover. -
Check and make sure the parasol is undamaged and firm in a correctly fitting and sufficiently heavy parasol base. The base must be standing on a solid, flat and horizontal surface.
-
Choose a position on the parasol post to fit the appliance. Do this at a height such that sufficient space is heated: the higher the position; the larger the circle of radiated heat. However, do not fit the heater between the ribs and the top of the parasol!
-
When fastening, ensure that the lights are not pointing towards a flammable surface, and the lights are at least 2 metres above the ground and that the back of lights remain at least 30 cm away from the parasol fabric. Flammable objects must be kept at least one metre away from the lights.
-
Slide the appliance to the selected position around the post of the parasol. Screw the appliance firmly into position on the post of the parasol with the fixing knob that tightens the parasol post clamp. The parasol post must have a diameter between 36 and 48 mm.
-
Arrange the power cord and ensure it is not heated and there is no danger of tripping, dragging and kicking.
-
To turn on the appliance, you need to insert the plug into an earthed 230V socket that is indoors or IP54 watertight. To turn off the appliance, just take the plug out of the socket.
-
Never adjust the appliance’s height or the light direction when the appliance is working, in case of the heat burning. Always take the plug out of the socket and allow the appliance to cool down first.
-
To adjust the height of the appliance, loosen the fixing knob and slide the appliance to the desired height, then tighten the fixing knob again.
-
To adjust the direction of the light, loosen the adjustment knobs at two sides of the light, and set the desired direction of the light. Firmly tighten the adjustment knobs before using the appliance again. The heat-insulated handles can be used to make subsequent minor adjustments to the direction.
Note: Never point the light at flammable surfaces.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Before cleaning, remove the plug from the power outlet and wait until the appliance is sufficiently cooled off.
- Wipe the appliance only with a clean and lint-free cloth or a soft brush. You can use a moist (not wet!) cloth with a rather mild cleaning product.
- Never use abrasive cleaners, scrubbing brushes and chemical cleaners for cleaning!
- Never use flammable cleaners such as benzene or spiritus.
- You can clean the grill with a small brush. Ensure that you do not touch the lamps. Halogen lamps are extremely vulnerable!
- To protect against electrical shock and danger of life, do not immerse cord, plug or any part of the appliance in water or other liquid.
- When not used, cover the appliance and put it in a dry place; you may also pack it into the original packaging to protect it from dust and humidity.
To replace the halogen lamp:
- If the halogen lamp is worn-out and needs to be replaced with a new lamp, please use “Ruby Slim Infrared Halogen Lamp R7S (220-240V~ 500W)”.
