Special features of VUPPA-Ⅱ

VUPPA-Ⅱ effectively eliminates oil, organic matter, and dust that sometimes form a thin film on the aquarium water surface. It adopts float switch that makes water level adjustment unnecessary and prevents cavitation. Its superior design of stainless housing does not spoil scenery of Nature Aquarium but fits to it naturally. It also can function as an internal filter in smaller tank.

Usage

VUPPA-Ⅱ is a ready-to-use product. No assembly required Installation in an aquarium (This product can be installed to frame-less tank with glass thickness below 15mm)

  1. Loosen the Set screw to retract the Mounting bracket B. Take care not to let the VUPPA-Ⅱ collide with the glass surface of an aquarium.
  2. Hang VUPPA-Ⅱ on the aquarium and adjust the Mounting bracket B to fit the glass thickness.
  3. Hold the Mounting brackets A and B against the glass surface and tighten the Set screw with a flathead screw driver.
  4. Slide VUPPA-Ⅱ upward or downward to position the top part of VUPPA-Ⅱ at the water surface.
  5. Make sure the product is submerged in aquarium water and plug the USB power adapter into an outlet. Do not operate the Submersible pump in air to avoid damage to the pump.

Caution

  • The water surface of an aquarium moves up and down due to evaporation or through a water change. This product can adjust the water level within 3cm maximum by itself, thereby water adjustment is unnecessary in this range. However, if the water level gets lower and the dropped water decreases, it weakens the ability to remove the surface oil film. When the water level decreases and gets near the end of slit, please either add water in the tank or slide the product down.
  • This product makes clicking sound when activated. It comes from the Float switch and is not abnormal.
  • Floating type fish food may be sucked into the filter section from the slits.
  • Remove any object sticking to the slit, such as plant pieces, immediately.
  • Small aquatic fauna may get trapped inside the product. If this occurs frequently, it is recommended to use this product only when required, depending on the aquarium’s water conditions. ADA will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to living organisms.
  • If the product is to be stored for a while, wipe the product dry using a dry cloth and remove any moisture from the inside. Although this product is made of highly corrosion-resistant stainless steel and treated with a rust inhibitor, it may rust depending on the usage or storage condition

Maintenance

  • Remove any detritus accumulated in the Filter sponge as soon as possible. When washing the Filter sponge, remove the sponge with tweezers from VUPPA-Ⅱ and rinse it lightly with aquarium water in a plastic container.
  • Water flow will decrease if an object is caught inside the Submersible pump or if the Impeller becomes dirty. If this occurs, detach the Cover and remove the object or clean the Impeller with a brush.
  • If the Submersible pump needs to be separated from the body of VUPPA-Ⅱ, remove the Outflow pipe and pull out the inner parts. The Submergible pump is attached to the inner parts with suction cups. Do not apply unnecessary force when removing the pump. It may damage the pump. Do not remove by pulling on the electrical cord, so as not to damage the cord and the equipment.
  • Float switch is a very fragile part. Do not drop or damage during maintenance. It may cause malfunction.
  • When cleaning the Submergible pump, Cover need to be removed. Both parts are easy to detach.
  • After the maintenance of the Submersible pump, please put the parts back properly. When assembling the inner parts and outer case, make sure not to tuck cords in and damage
  • If it is difficult to attach the Outflow pipe, the Submersible pump’s outlet and the outlet hole on the stainless steel housing may not be properly in place. Match the position of the holes with the tip of a screwdriver or other tools, and insert the Outflow pipe
