Reducing Chime Volume
This guide explains how to reduce the chime volume of IX Series stations. The settings for door and master stations are configured separately.

Door Station Settings

To reduce the chime volume of a door station:

  1. Open IX Support Tool.
  2. Navigate to Station Settings, Volume / Tone.
  3. Scroll right to the Receive column.
  4. Click on the cell for the appropriate door station.
  5. Use the dropdown menu to select the desired volume level on a  scale from 1 to 10.
  6. Click Update.

  • The Receive volume controls the spoken audio produced at the door station as well as the chime volume. Be careful not to set it too low.

To completely mute the door station chime:

  1. Open IX Support Tool.
  2. Navigate to Call Settings, Call Origination.
  3. Click the cell for the door station under Ringback Tone.
  4. Set the option to None.
  5. Click Update.

The None option is not available for IX-BA or IX-DA door stations.

Master Station Settings

To reduce the ringtone volume of a master station:

  1. Navigate to Station Settings, Volume / Tone.
  2. Scroll right to the Ringtone column.
  3. Click on the cell for the desired master station.
  4. Use the drop-down menu to select the volume level on a scale from 0 to 10.
  5. Click Update.

Uploading Settings to Stations

To upload settings to all stations:

  1. Navigate to File and select Upload Settings to Stations.
  2. Select all stations.

Completely Muting the Door Station Chime
Sometimes it may be preferable to not have a chime at all when the door station calls out. Open IX Support Tool. Navigate to Call Settings, Call Origination. Click the cell for the door station under Ringback Tone. Set the option to None and click
