Weatherproofing Connections
-
Liquid can weaken RF (radio frequency) or WiFi signals. To prevent your antenna connections from getting wet, you will need the following items:
1. Vinyl electrical tape (not included)
2. Rubber splicing/mastic tape or butyl rubber tape (not included)
After attaching antennas to the AP, wrap the electrical tape around each antenna to seal the assembly gap between the antenna and the connector. -
Then wrap the taped connectors with a layer of rubber tape.
Finally, it is recommended that you wrap the connectors again with one layer of electrical tape.
Grounding
- Remove the M4 ground screw from the Zyxel Device’s rear panel as shown. Secure a green/yellow ground cable (18 AWG or smaller) to the Zyxel Device’s rear panel using the M4 ground screw.
- Attach the other end of the cable to the ground, either to the same ground electrode as the pole you installed the device on or to the main grounding electrode of the building. Follow your country’s regulations and safety instructions to electrically ground the device properly. Qualified service personnel must confirm that the building’s protective earthing terminal is valid.
