INTENDED USE

The power is intended for the sawing and partition of wooden materials, plastic, gypsum, non-ferrous metals and fastening elements (e.g. nails, brackets). It is also appropriate for the machining of soft wall tiles as well as the dry sanding and scraping of smaller surfaces. It is particularly suitable when working close to edges and for flush work.
The power tool may only be used with original accessories.
Only use this machine according to its intended use! Any use extending beyond this does not constitute intended use. The user, not the manufacturer, is liable for resulting damages or injuries of any kind.
Our equipment is not intended for commercial or industrial use. If this device is used in the context of commercial or industrial use, the warranty is void.

  When using tools some safety precautions must be observed to prevent injuries and damage. Therefore read through the operating manual/ safety instructions carefully. Store them in a safe place so that the information is available to you at all times. If you should hand the appliance on to other persons please hand these operating instructions/safety instructions out with them. We do not assume any liability for accidents or damage which do not arise due to the failure to observe these instructions and the safety instructions.

GENERAL SAFETY DIRECTIONS FOR POWER TOOLS

WARNING!
Read all safety directions, instructions, illustrations and technical data that accompany this power tool. Failure to heed the instructions given below could cause an electric shock, burning and/or serious injuries.

Keep all safety directions and instructions in a safe place for future reference!

  1. Workplace safety
    a. Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Untidiness and unlighted workspaces can lead to accidents.
    b. Do not work with the power tool in a potentially explosive environment, in which combustible liquids, gases or dusts are located. . Electrical tools produce sparks that can ignite dust or fumes.
    c. Keep children and other persons at a safe distance when using the electric tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control of the device.

  2. Electrical safety
    a. The connector plug of the device must fit into the power outlet. The plug cannot be modified in any way. Do not use adapter plugs in conjunction with grounded power tools. Unaltered plugs and suitable power outlets reduce the risk of electric shock.
    b. Avoid physical contact with grounded surfaces, suchaspipes, heaters, stoves, and refrigerators. Increased risk of electric shock exists when your body is grounded.
    c. Keep power tools away from rain or moisture. The penetration of moisture into a power tool increases the risk of electric shock.
    d. Do not use the connection lead for any purpose other than its intended purpose; do not use the connection lead to carry or hang up the device; do not pull the plug out of the power outlet via the connection lead. Keep the connection lead away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts. Damaged or tangled connection leads increase the risk of electric shock.
    e. If you work with a power tool outdoors only use extension cables that are also approved for outdoor use. Use of an extension cable that is approved for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
    f. If operating the power tool in a damp environment cannot be avoided, use a ground fault circuit interrupter. The use of a ground fault circuit interrupter reduces the risk of electric shock.

  3. Personal safety
    a. Be attentive and aware of what you are doing; proceed with caution when working with a power tool.
    Do not use a power tool if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
    One moment of carelessness while using the power tool can lead to serious injuries.
    b. Always wear personal protective gear and safety goggles. The use of personal protective gear, such as dust mask, non-slip safety shoes, hardhat, or hearing protection, depending on the nature and use of power tool, reduces the risk of injuries.
    c. Avoid unintentional startup. Make sure that the power tool is switched on before connecting it to the mains and/or a battery, picking it up or carrying it. Having your finger on the switch while carrying the power tool switched on when you connect it to the power supply can lead to accidents.
    d. Remove adjusting tools or wrenches before switching on the power tool. A tool or a wrench left in a rotating part of the power tool can lead to injuries.
    e. Avoid unusual body postures. Ensure that you are standing in a stable and safe position and maintain your balance at all times. This will enable you to better control the power tool in unexpected situations.
    f. Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothes, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewelry, or long hair can be caught by moving parts.
    g. If dust extraction and collection devices can be mounted, ensure that such devices are connected and used properly. Using a dust extractor can reduce hazards caused by dust.
    h. Do not lull yourself into a false sense of security and do not ignore the safety rules for handling power tools, even if you are familiar with the power tool after many uses. Careless action can lead to serious injuries within fractions of a second.

  4. Use and treatment of the power tool
    a. Do not overload the power tool. Use the power tool that is designed for your work. With the suitable power tool you will work better and with more safety in the specified performance range.
    b. Do not use any power tool with a defective switch. An electrical tool that can no longer be switched on and off is dangerous and must be repaired.
    c. Pull the plug out of the socket and/or pull out a removable battery before making device settings, changing insertion tool parts, or putting the power tool away. This precautionary measure prevents the device from starting up unintentionally.
    d. When not in use, store power tools out of the reach of children. Persons who are unfamiliar with the power tool or who have not read these instructions should never be allowed to use it. Power tools are dangerous when used by inexperienced persons.
    e. Maintain power tools and insertion tools with care. Make sure that the moving parts of the power tool function properly and do not jam; make sure that no parts are broken or damaged to such an extent that the functioning of the power tool is impaired. Have the damaged parts repaired before using the power tool. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
    f. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges seize less and are easier to control.
    g. Maintain power tools and insertion tools with care. Make sure that the moving parts of the power tool function properly and do not jam; make sure that no parts are broken or damaged to such an extent that the functioning of the power tool is impaired. Have the damaged parts repaired before using the power tool. Using power tools for applications other than their intended use can lead to dangerous situations.
    h. Keep handles and grip surfaces dry, clean and free of oil and grease. Slippery handles and grip surfaces do not allow safe operation and control of the power tool in unforeseen situations..

  5. Service
    a. Only have your device repaired by qualified, specialised personnel, and only repair with original replacement parts. This ensures that the safety of the power tool remains unimpaired.
    b. For electric appliances with the attachment X, where a specially made connecting line is required for the exchange of the connecting line: When the connecting line of the electric tool is damaged, it must be replaced through a specially made connecting line which is available through the client service organization.

Safety directions for multi-functional tools
  • Hold the appliance on the insulated grip surfaces when performing wok in which the insertion tool can strike concealed power supply lines or its own power cable. Contact with live lines can also charge metallic tool parts and lead to an electric shock.

  • Only use the power tool dry sanding. The ingress of moisture into an electric device increases the risk of electric shock.

  • Keep your hands away from the area to be sawn. Do not grasp beneath the workpiece. There is a risk of injury if you make contact with the saw blade.

  • Use appropriate detectors to find concealed power lines or call in the local utility company.
    Contact with electric power lines could cause a fire and an electric shock. Damage to a gas line could cause an explosion. Puncturing a water pipeline causes property damage or could cause an electric shock.

  • Secure the workpiece.
    A workpiece that is held in place with clamping devices or a vice is held in place more securely than with your hand.

  • Keep your workplace clean.
    Material mixture are particularly dangerous. Dust of light metal can be inflammable or explode.

  • Do not use the power tool with a damaged mains cable. Do not touch the damaged cable and pull the mains plug when the cable is damaged while working.
    Damaged cables increase the risk of an electric shock.

  • Wear protective gloves when changing the insertion tools. Insertion tools can become very hot if used for longer periods.

  • Do not shave any moistened materials (e.g. wallpaper) and do not work on a moist subsurface.
    The penetration of moisture into a power tool increases the risk of electric shock.

  • Do not treat the surface to be worked on with liquids that contain solvents.
    Toxic vapours can arise due to the warming of the materials when shaving them.

  • Be particularly careful when using the scraper. The tool is very sharp, there is a risk of injury.

  • The dust of coats of paint that contain lead, some types of wood or metal are harmful or toxic.
    The inhalation of this dust is hazardous for the person operating it or people in the vicinity.
    Therefore do not sand any coats of pain that contain lead, some types of wood or metal without the required protective equipment and taking the necessary precautions.

Voltage

Before placing the device in service ensure that that voltage specified on the rating plate agrees with the supply voltage.

Assembly

  • ATTENTION! Pull the plug out of the mains socket before performing any work on the power tool.
  • Wear protective gloves when changing tools.
    There is a risk of injury if you touch the insertion tools.

Tool changes

  • Unscrew the clamping bolt with the Allen wrench.
  • Clean the tool holder, the insertion tool and the clamping bolt.
  • Place the insertion tool upon the tool holder.
  • Screw the clamping bolt tight with the Allen wrench.
  • Inspect when the insertion tool is securely in place. Insertion tools that are fastened incorrectly or insecurely can become detached during operation and put you at risk.

Installing or replacing the sanding sheet

  • The sanding plate is fitted with Velcro backing. This allows for quick and sinple fastening of sanding sheets with Velcro adhesion.
  • Align the sanding sheet and manually press it against the sanding plate.
  • To guarantee good adhesion briefly press the power tool with the sanding sheet against an even surface whilst applying force.
  • To remove the sanding plate hold it at one end and pull it from the sanding plate.

Securing the workpiece

ATTENTION! Secure the workpiece. A workpiece that is held in place with a clamping devices is held in place more securely than with your hand.

Initial startup

ATTENTION! Observe the supply voltage. The voltage of the power source must correspond with the details on the power tool‘s rating plate.

ON/OFF switch

Push the ON/OFF switch forwards to switch the device so that “I” appears on the switch. switch.
Push the ON/OFF switch backward to switch the device off so that “0” appears on the switch.

WORKING INSTRUCTIONS

Operating principle

Due to the oscillating drive the insertion tool rotates up to 22000 times per minute within an area of approx. 3° . This allows for precise work in confined spaces.

  • Switch the device on.
  • Keep it away from your body.
  • Never place your hands in front of the immediate working area.
  • Only use faultless and undamaged insertion tools.

Insertion tools

Sawing: Sawing of wood and plastic.
Working instructions: Check there are no foreign bodies in the materials when sawing and remove them  if necessary. When plunge cutting only soft materials such as wood or plasterboard may be machined.
Sanding: Surface sanding on edges or areas that are difficult to access. For sanding of wood, paint, enamel etc. depending on the sanding sheet used.
Working instructions: The device is particularly efficient when sanding corners and edges that are hard to reach. It is also possible to work only with the tip or the edge of the sanding plate to sand profiles and hollows. Various sanding papers are available depending on the material to be machined or the desired erosion of the surface. The erosion performance is essentially determined by the selection of the sanding sheet and the pressure of the sanding plate applied.
Scraping: Scraping off old paintwork or adhesives.
Working instructions: Guide the application tool towards the areas that is to abraded.
Begin at a flat work angle and whilst applying a slight amount pressure. The subsurface can be damaged if you apply too much pressure.

Malfunctions

In the event that the multi-functional tool does not work in an orderly manner take the appliance to your specialist retailer to have it inspected and/or repaired.

Initial startup

During work always wear safety goggles, hearing protection, safety gloves and sturdy work clothes!

Cleaning

Regularly clean the cover of the machine with a soft cloth, preferably after each application. Keep the louvers free from dust and dirt. Remove stubborn dirt with a soft cloth, moistened with soap suds. Do no t use solvents such as petrol, alcohol, ammonia, etc. These kinds of substances damage plastic parts.

Electric equipment with expired service life and environmental protection.
Should your electric equipment be so intensively used that it must be replaced one day, or there is no other use for it, please think about protection of the environment. Electric equipment does not belong to usual domestic waste. It can be dealt with in an environmentally friendly manner

WARRANTY

  1. Workers Best grants a warranty of 36 months from the purchase date as long as the device is used as intended (see the item on Intended Use). This warranty is valid for all material and manufacturing faults. More extensive liability claims of any kind that are based directly or indirectly on persons and/or materials, are excluded.

  2. If a problem or defect should appear, please always first contact your Workers Best authorized dealer.
    Your Workers Best authorized dealer can usually correct the problem or defect directly.

  3. The repair or replacement of components does not result in the extension of the original warranty period.

  4. The warranty does not cover defects that are the result of inappropriate use or normal wear.

  5. All wearing parts are excluded from the warranty.

  6. YOUR WARRANTY CLAIM CAN ONLY BE RECOGNIZED, IF:
    • A sales slip (purchase date) in the form of a sales register receipt can be presented.
    • The warranty certificate is completely filled out.
    • No repairs and / or replacements of components have been undertaken by third parties on the equipment.
    • The equipment has not been operated inappropriately.
    • No act of nature beyond human control is involved.
    • A description of the defect is enclosed.

  7. The warranty provisions apply together with our delivery and sales terms and conditions.
