Princeton Tec VIZZ RGB MPLS Helmet Lights
Product Information
The Vizz RGB is a headlamp that offers different color options for different situations. It has four color modes: red, green, blue, and white. It also has a dimming function and a lock-out feature to prevent accidental activation and battery drain. The headlamp is powered by 3 AAA batteries and has a waterproof seal to preserve its waterproof integrity. The Vizz RGB also has accessories available, including the MPLS Tactical accessory for attaching the headlamp to an NVG shroud.
Product Usage Instructions
Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment located at the back of the headlamp.
- Insert 3 AAA batteries into the compartment, observing proper battery polarity.
- Close the battery compartment cover.
Note : It is important to use the correct type of batteries to avoid reduced brightness due to lower nominal voltage.
Switch Operation
- To turn on the headlamp, press the switch once. Repeat pressing the switch to cycle through the different color modes: red, green, blue, and off. Hold the switch for one second while in white mode to activate dimming.
- To turn off the headlamp, press the switch once while in anymode or hold the switch for five seconds to activate lock-out.
- To unlock the headlamp, hold the switch for five seconds while in lock mode or remove and replace the batteries to reset the headlamp to an unlocked state.
Troubleshooting
If the headlamp fails to light up, check if the rear cover is properly installed or if the waterproof seal is dirty. If dirt ispresent, wipe gently with a damp cotton swab and mild soap until dirt is removed. If the headlamp has been contaminated with salt water, flush the unit with fresh water and dry as described above.

Note : Runtime is defined as the duration of time from the initial light output value until the light output reaches 10% of the initial value using fresh batteries. Reserve time is the duration of time from 10% of initial light output value down to 0.25 lux.
Vizz RGB MPLS Accessories
To attach the Vizz RGB Tactical MPLS to the NVG Shroud:
- Slide the bracket arm into the NVG Shroud adapter plate, making sure the pull tab is above the lip of the adapter plate and that the male grooves on the bottom of the bracket arm are aligned inside the female grooves on the bottom of the adapter plate.
- Push the bracket arm securely into place, ensuring that the pull tab audibly clicks over the lip of the NVG Shroud adapter plate.
- The MPLS Headlamp should now be secured in the NVG Shroud. You can rotate the headlamp to focus your light source accordingly.
To remove the MPLS headlamp from the NVG Shroud:
- Remove the NVG Mount from your helmet.
- Push up slightly on the bottom of the light housing.
- While pushing upward, use the tool on the provided headstrap to press the tab of the arm bracket towards the headlamp housing, so that it disengages from the NVG Shroud adapter plate.
- Slide the headlamp unit out of the NVG Shroud adapter plate.

Observe proper battery polarity. Improper installation of the batteries will
damage the light and void the warranty
WARNING!
- Never mix fresh and used batteries.
- Never mix different battery brands or chemistry types
- Always remove drained batteries immediately.
- Remove batteries during long periods of storage.
NOTE : Lithium batteries offer extended constant brightness time, extreme
cold weather performance, and lighter weight. Rechargeable
NiCad or NiMH batteries may result in reduced brightness due to lower nominal
voltage.
The Vizz RGB battery compartment has a waterproof seal. It is important to keep this seal free from dirt and away from harsh chemicals in order to preserve waterproof integrity. Inspect the seal every time batteries are changed. If dirt is present, wipe gently with a damp cotton swab and mild soap until dirt is removed
Switch Operation
From off:
- Press 1x – Red
- Press 2x – Green
- Press 3x – Blue
- Press 4x – Off
- One Second Hold from any mode – White
- Press & Hold while in white mode – Dimming
- Press 1x after more than 1 second in any mode- Off
- Five second hold – Lockout/Unlock
From off, 5 second hold will lock light to prevent accidental Activation and resulting battery drain. Removal and replacement of batteries will also reset Vizz RGB to unlocked state.
Troubleshooting
If the Vizz RGB fails to light:
- Check the batteries for proper installation.
- Replace batteries if proper installation is confirmed.
- Check circuit board for water (the seal may have be compromised by improper rear cover installation or dirty seal). The light will resume normal operation once the water is shaken or blown out and the light isleft open until completely dry. If the light has been contaminated with salt water, flush the unit with fresh water and dry as described above
Vizz RGB MPLS Accessories
To attach the Vizz RGB Tactical MPLS to the NVG Shroud:
- Slide the bracket arm into the NVG Shroud adapter plate, makingsure the pull tab is above the lip of the adapter plate and that themale grooves on the bottom of the bracket arm are aligned insidethe female grooves on the bottom of the adapter plate.
- Push the bracket arm securely into place, ensuring that the pull tab audibly clicks over the lip of the NVG Shroud adapter plate.
- Your MPLS Headlamp should now be secured in the NVG Shroud. You can rotate the headlamp to focus your light source accordingly.
To remove the MPLS headlamp from the NVG Shroud:
- Remove the NVG Mount from your helmet.
- Push up slightly on the bottom of the light housing.

- Slide the bracket arm into the Butterfly Mount, making sure the pull tab is above the lip of the mount and that the male grooves on the bottom of the bracket arm are aligned inside the female grooves onthe bottom of the mount.
- Push the bracket arm securely into place, ensuring that the pull tab audibly clicks over the lip of the Butterfly Mount.
- Your MPLS Headlamp should now be secured in the Butterfly Mount. The mount can be attached to the provided headstrap, MOLLE straps, or any 1” webbing. You can rotate the headlamp to focus your light source accordingly.
To remove the MPLS headlamp from the Butterfly Mount:
- Push up slightly on the bottom of the light housing.
- While pushing upward, use the tool on the provided headstrap topress the tab of the arm bracket towards the headlamp housing, so that it disengages from the Butterfly Mount.
- Slide the headlamp unit out of the Butterfly Mount.
Performance
(ANSI FL-1 Standard)
Runtime is defined as the duration of time from the initial light output
value—defined as 30 seconds after the point the device is first turned on—
using fresh batteries, until the light output reaches 10% of the initial
value. Reserve time is the duration of time from 10% of initial light output
value down to 0.25 lux

Due to International regulations, Princeton Tec’s lifetime warranty can only
be offered to customers in the USA. Princeton Tec offers a 10-year warranty to
our customers outside the USA. FULL WARRANTY – Princeton Tec warrants this
product to be free from defects in workmanship and materials under normal use
for as long as you own this product. This warranty covers all of the component
parts of the product except batteries. This warranty does not cover
deterioration due to normal wear or damage due to misuse, alteration,
negligence, accidents, or unauthorized repair. Princeton Tec will repair or
replace parts which are defective In workmanship or materials. Your authorized
Princeton Tec Dealer and Princeton Tec are the only facilities authorized to
repair the product. After (3) unsuccessful attempts to repair the product, you
have the right to elect replacement of the product or a refund of the purchase
price less allowance for use of the product. NO INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES ARE INCLUDED IN THIS WARRANTY. (Some states do not allow the exclusion
or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations
or exclusions may not apply to you.) This warranty gives you specific legal
rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state

Return Policy
If your light fails to operate, follow these simple steps:
- Check batteries. Replace if necessary.
- To send your light in for repair or replacement, first contact Princeton Tec customer service on 1-800-257-9080 to request an RMA number. Please have your light model, date of purchase and a brief description of the fault you are experiencing. No warranty repairs will be accepted without an RMA number.
- Return the light without batteries to: Princeton Tec, PO Box 8057 Trenton NJ 08650. Postage due and freight collect items will not be accepted.
- Upon receipt your light will be processed in about two weeks. Please allow additional time for return transportation from NJ.
