INSIGNIA NS-PROJ2 Universal Projector Ceiling Mount
Before using your new product, please read these instructions to prevent any damage.
Safety information and specifications
The mount base can be used by itself for projectors with square mounting plates and four holes, with hole distances between 2.4 to 4.0 in. (6.09 to 10.16 cm). It can also be used on projectors with two or three holes with distance between holes of 3.35 to 5.66 in. (8.51 to 14.37 cm).

Installation instructions
STEP 1 – Option 1 – Mounting to a drywall ceiling You need:
- K – Ceiling plate
- Edge-to-edge stud finder
- Pencil
- 1/8 in. (3 mm) wood drill bit
- Phillips screwdriver
- A – Wood screws (2)
Notes:

1. Use a stud finder to locate the ceiling joist in the place where you want to mount your projector. Verify the center of the ceiling joist with an edge-to-edge stud finder, then mark the edges of the joist with a pencil.
CAUTION: You must install the mount in the center of the joist to avoid cracking or splitting the wood during installation, thereby weakening the bond between the mount and the joist.

1. Align the center of the ceiling plate (K) with the center of the ceiling joist, then mark the holes in the ceiling plate with a pencil.
- Drill pilot holes into the pencil marks using a 1/8 in. (3 mm) wood drill bit.
- Secure the ceiling plate (K) to the ceiling joist using wood screws (A).

- The ceiling or mounting surface must be capable of supporting four times the combined weight of the mount and the projector. If not, the structure must be reinforced.
- Relocate pipes, wires, or any other hazards away from the area where you wish to install the mount before drilling.
- Safety gear and proper tools must be used for this installation. Failure to do so can result in personal injury or damage to the product or your equipment.
- Follow all instructions and recommendations regarding adequate ventilation and suitable locations for mounting your projector. Consult the owner‘s manual for your particular display for more information.
- This mount is intended for use only with the maximum weight of 30 lbs. (13.6 kg). Use with equipment that is heavier than the maximum weights indicated may result in instability, causing possible personal injury or damage to the product or your equipment.
- This product contains small items that could be a choking hazard if swallowed. Keep these items away from young children.
- Follow mounting instructions carefully.

Mounting hole patterns

The mount base with the mounting arms should be used for projectors with square or rectangular mounting plates and four holes, with hole distances between 5 to 8.6 in. (12.72 to 21.84 cm). It can also be used on projectors with two or three holes, with distance between holes of 7.1 to 12.1 in. (18.03 to 30.78 cm).

STEP 1 – Option 1 – Mounting to a drywall ceiling
You need
Notes:
Any drywall covering the ceiling must not exceed 5/8 in. (16 mm). Ceiling must
be flat

Use a stud finder to locate the ceiling joist in the place where you want to mount your projector. Verify the center of the ceiling joist with an edge-to-edge stud finder, then mark the edges of the joist with a pencil.
CAUTION : You must install the mount in the center of the joist to avoid cracking or splitting the wood during installation, thereby weakening the bond between the mount and the joist. -
Align the center of the ceiling plate (K) with the center of the ceiling joist, then mark the holes in the ceiling plate with a pencil

Drill two pilot holes through the pencil marks to a depth of 2.5 in. (64 mm) using a 1/8 in. (3 mm) diameter drill bit.
CAUTION : We recommend using eye protection to protect you from falling dust while drilling -
Attach the ceiling plate (K) to the ceiling joist using the wood screws (A) provided, then tighten the screws
STEP 1 – Option 2: Mounting to a concrete ceiling
You need
Note : The ceiling must be flat
CAUTION : For safety reasons, the concrete ceiling must be capable of
supporting four times the combined weight of the mount and the display. The
manufacturer takes no responsibility for failure caused by a ceiling of
insufficient strength. To prevent property damage or personal injury, never
drill into the mortar between blocks. Install the mounting plate directly onto
the concrete surface.

Hold the ceiling plate (K) in the location where you want to mount your projector, then mark the holes in the ceiling plate with a pencil.

Drill two holes through the pencil marks to a depth of 3 in. (76 mm) using a 5/16 in. (8 mm) diameter drill bit.
CAUTION : We recommend using eye protection to protect you from falling concrete dust while drilling. -
Insert a concrete anchor (B) into each hole so that it is flush with the ceiling (you can tap lightly into place with a hammer).

Attach the ceiling plate (K) to the concrete ceiling using the wood screws (A) provided, then tighten the screws
CAUTION : DO NOT over-tighten the screws.
STEP 2 – Attaching the mount base to your projector
You need
Note : Depending on the mounting holes in the top of your projector, you may not need to attach all of the mount arms (L) to the mount base (N).
Attaching the mount base with arms

Attach the four mounting arms (L) to the mount base (N) using four M5 x 14 mm screws (E) and M5/M6 washers (D) from the kit. Attach one mount arm into each slot in the mount base. Leave the screws loose enough so that the arms can be moved when attaching the projector.

Attach the mount base to your projector using the appropriate screws from the hardware kit (F, G, or I). If you are using M3 (F) or M4 (G) screws, you will also need to use the M3/M4 washers (C). If you are using M5 (I) screws, do not use washers
Note : If you cannot find a screw from the provided hardware kit that fits, consult the manufacturer of your projector for the proper size . -
Tighten the four screws used to attach the arms to the mount base in step 1.
Attaching the mount base without arms
Attach the mount base to your projector using the appropriate screws from the
hardware kit (F, G, H, or I). If you are using M3 (F) or M4 (G) screws, you
will also need to use the M3/M4 washers (C). If you are using M5 (I) or M6 (H)
screws, you will need to use M5/M6 washers (D).
Note : If you cannot find a screw from the provided hardware kit that fits, consult the manufacturer of your projector for the proper size .
STEP 3 – Mounting the projector
You need
- Screw the mount body (M) into the ceiling plate (K).
- Tighten the set screw at the top of the mount body using the Allen key (J) from the hardware kit.
- Place the mount base with your projector attached into the hooks in the mount body.
- Tighten the screws on both sides of the mount base to hold it in place
- Connect the power and other cabling, as necessary.
Removing your projector from the mount
- Remove the power and other cabling, as necessary.
- Loosen the screws on both sides of the mount base
- Remove the mount base with your projector attached from the hooks in the mount body.
- Set the projector down somewhere safe, then remove the mounting hardware from it.
Adjusting and maintaining your projector
- Swivel adjustments can be made by simply turning your projector in thedirection you want.
- Tilt adjustments can be made by loosening the screws on both sides of the mount base, moving the projector to the angle you want, and then re-tightening the screws.
Maintaining your projector mount
- Periodically clean your mount with a dry cloth.
- Inspect all screws and hardware at regular intervals to ensure that no connections have become loose over time. Re-tighten as nee

ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Definitions:
The Distributor* of Insignia branded products warrants to you, the original
purchaser of this new Insignia-branded product (“Product”), that the Product
shall be free of defects in the original manufacturer of the material or
workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of your purchase of the
Product (“Warranty Period”).
For this warranty to apply, your Product must be purchased in the United
States or Canada from a
Best Buy branded retail store or online at www.bestbuy.com or www.bestbuy.ca
and is packaged with this warranty statement.
How long does the coverage last?
The Warranty Period lasts for 1 year (365 days) from the date you purchased the Product. Your purchase date is printed on the receipt you received with the Product.
What does this warranty cover?
During the Warranty Period, if the original manufacture of the material or workmanship of the Product is determined to be defective by an authorized Insignia repair center or store personnel, Insignia will (at its sole option): (1) repair the Product with new or rebuilt parts; or (2) replace the Product at no charge with new or rebuilt comparable products or parts. Products and parts replaced under this warranty become the property of Insignia and are not returned to you. If service of Products or parts are required after the Warranty Period expires, you must pay all labor and parts charges. This warranty lasts as long as you own your Insignia Product during the Warranty Period. Warranty coverage terminates if you sell or otherwise transfer the Product.
How to obtain warranty service?
If you purchased the Product at a Best Buy retail store location or from a
Best Buy online website (www.bestbuy.com or
www.bestbuy.ca), please take your original receipt
and the Product to any
Best Buy store. Make sure that you place the Product in its original packaging
or packaging that provides the same amount of protection as the original
packaging.
To obtain warranty service, in the United States and Canada call
1-877-467-4289. Call agents may diagnose and correct the issue over the phone.
Where is the warranty valid?
This warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada at Best Buy
branded retail stores or websites to the original purchaser of the product in
the country where the original purchase was made.
What does the warranty not cover?
This warranty does not cover:
- Food, beverage, and or medicine loss/spoilage.
- Customer instruction/education
- Installation
- Set up adjustments
- Cosmetic damage
- Damage due to weather, lightning, and other acts of God, such as power surges
- Accidental damage
- Misuse
- Abuse
- Negligence
- Commercial purposes/use, including but not limited to use in a place of business or in communal areas of a multiple dwelling condominium or apartment complex, or otherwise used in a place of other than a private home.
- Modification of any part of the Product, including the antenna
- Display panel damaged by static (non-moving) images applied for lengthy periods (burn-in).
- Damage due to incorrect operation or maintenance
- Connection to an incorrect voltage or power supply
- Attempted repair by any person not authorized by Insignia to service the Product
- Products sold “as is” or “with all faults”
- Consumables, including but not limited to batteries (i.e. AA, AAA, C, etc.)
- Products, where the factory applied serial number, has been altered or removed
- Loss or Theft of this product or any part of the product
- Display panels containing up to three (3) pixel failures (dots that are dark or incorrectly illuminated) grouped in an area smaller than one tenth (1/10) of the display size or up to five (5) pixel failures throughout the display. (Pixel-based displays may contain a limited number of pixels that may not function normally.)
- Failures or Damage caused by any contact including but not limited to liquids, gels or past
REPAIR REPLACEMENT AS PROVIDED UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR BREACH OF WARRANTY.
