WARNINGS!
Read this Owner’s Manual completely BEFORE first use of your child restraint!
Keep this Owner’s Manual always with the child restraint. Provisions are made
on the rear of the seat shell. Plan to spend some time getting to know your
child restraint-time well spent when you consider that your baby’s safety
depends on it. Pay special attention to the warnings, printed in red.
! WARNINGS to parents and other users. DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THIS CHILD
RESTRAINT UNTIL YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MANUAL AND IN
YOUR VEHICLE OWNER’S MANUAL.
Safety Requirements
European Safety Standards specify the construction and performance of your
child restraint as well as its components, requirements for fitting and use,
instructions and markings. Your child restraint has been approved to European
Standard ECE R44.04.
An approval number is attached to the rear of the child restraint and must not
be removed.
NOTICE
This is a “Universal” child restraint. It is approved to Regulation No. 44, 04
series of amendments, for general use in vehicles and it will fit most, but
not all, car seats.
Only suitable if the approved vehicles are fitted with 3 point retractor
safety-belt, approved to UN/ECE Regulation No.16 or other equivalent
standards.
Important safety points Do not use your child restraint rear-facing on any
passenger seat where an active frontal airbag is fitted.
The rigid items and plastic parts of the child restraint shall be so locate
and installed that it is not liable to become trapped by a moveable seat or in
a door of the vehicle.
Any straps holding the restraint to the vehicle should be tight and any straps
restraining the child should be adjusted to the child’s body. The straps
should not be twisted.
Lap strap should be worn low down, so that the pelvis is firmly engaged.
The child restraint should be changed when it has been subject to violent
stresses in an accident. You may not see any damage, but after a serious crash
a child restraint system can be too weak to protect again.
DO NOT install or use this child restraint without following the instructions
and warnings in this manual or you may put your child in serious risk of
injury or death.
NEVER leave your child unattended with this child restraint at all times. DO
NOT make any alterations or additions to this child restraint. DO NOT use it
along with component parts from other manufacturers. The function of it could
be altered, resulting in serious injury or death.
Any luggage or other objects liable to cause injuries in the event of a
collision shall be properly secured.
DO NOT use any load bearing contact points other than those described in the
instructions and marked in the child restraint.
DO NOT ever take a baby out of the child restraint for any reason while
vehicle is in motion. If your baby needs attention, find a safe place and pull
off the road.
Do store your child restraint in a safe place when not being used. Avoid
putting heavy things on top of it.
Do always check the security of your child restraint before each journey.
Do regularly check all child restraints for wear and tear. Please contact
child restraint manufacturer in the event of any questions.
! IT IS MOST IMPORTANT that the child restraint is correctly installed with
the vehicle safety belt correctly routed according to the manufacturer’s
instructions.
Your child can be injured in a vehicle even if you are not in a crash. Sudden
braking and sharp turns can injure your child if the child restraint is not
properly installed or if your child is not properly secured in the child
restraint.
! No child restraint can guarantee protection from injury in every situation,
but proper use helps reduce the risk of serious injury or death.
! Even if using this child restraint seems easy to figure out on your own, it
is very important to READ, UNDERSTAND AND FOLLOW THE OWNER’S MANUAL.
