xonTel LS-100 Microwave Indoor Light Sensor
Product Information: LS-100 Microwave Indoor Light Sensor
The LS-100 is an active motion detector that emits high-frequency electro- magnetic waves (5.8GHz) and receives their echo. The sensor detects the change in echo from even the slightest movement in its detection zone. A microprocessor then triggers the switch light ON command. Detection is possible through doors, panes of glass or thin walls. The sensor has 7 levels of LUX setting ranging from 10 LUX to 500 LUX, and a setting of 24H means LUX mode is OFF.
Specifications
- Connect N, L with power
- Connect N, L’ with load
- 1 & 2 set the Distance sensitivity (2M, 5M, 8M, 10M)
- 3 & 4 & 5 set for time for Light Off/On (10S, 1Min,
5Min, 10Min, 15Min, 20Min, 25Min, 30Min)
LUX Mode: 6, 7 & 8 Set for LUX (LUX means DO NOT Start the Sensor when there is brightness at this level), LUX means the Unit of the brightness, means more brightness is more LUX number, mean 10 LUX is low brightness place (Very Dark), while 500 LUX verybright place.
Note:
-
The detection distance is measured using a person who is between 1.6m~1.7m tall with an average build, moving at a speed of 1.0~1.5m/sec. If any of these variables are changed, the detection
distance will also resultantly change. -
It is recommended to select the shortest time for adjusting the detection zone and for performing the walk test.
-
Light switches OFF, it takes approx. 3 sec before it is able to start detecting movement again.
-
Microwave sensors can detect movement through some non-metal materials such as glass and even thin walls. This gives more options for installing the sensor because it can be located out of sight or inside the luminaire.
Hardware Technical Specifications
- Power supply: 220-240VAC
- Power frequency: 50/60Hz
- Installing Height: 1.5m~3.5m
- Transmission power:
Product Usage Instructions
- Connect N and L with power and N and L’ with load.
- Select the desired distance sensitivity setting (2M, 5M, 8M, or 10M) using switches 1 and 2.
- Select the desired time for Light Off/On (10S, 1Min, 5Min, 10Min, 15Min, 20Min, 25Min, or 30Min) using switches 3, 4, and 5.
- Select the desired LUX setting (10 LUX to 500 LUX) using switches 6, 7, and 8. A setting of 24H means LUX mode is OFF.
- Install the sensor at a height between 1.5m and 3.5m.
- Perform a walk test by selecting the shortest time for adjusting the detection zone.
- Allow at least 3 seconds for the sensor to start detecting movement again after the light switches OFF.

Troubleshooting
The load doesn’t work:
- a. Check the power and the load.
- b. Whether the indicator light is turned on after sensing? If yes, please check the load.
- c. If the indicator light does not turn on after sensing, please check if the working light corresponds to the ambient light.
- d. Please check if the working voltage corresponds to the power source.
The sensitivity is poor:
- a. Please check if in front of the detection window there are hindering that effect to receive the signals.
- b. Please check the ambient temperature.
- c. Please check if the signal source is in the detection fields.
- d. Please check the installation height.
The sensor can’t shut automatically the load:
- a. If there are continual signals in the detection fields.
- b. If the time delay is set to the longest.
- c. If the power corresponds to the instruction.
- d. If the air temperature changes near the sensor, air condition or central heating etc.
Sensors Models (Microwave & PIR)
Microwave
These motion detectors emit microwave signals and measure the time taken for
the signal to be reflected back to the sensor, this is known as the echo time.
The echo time is used to calculate the distances from all stationary objects
in the detection zone, to establish a baseline to work from. A person moving
into the detection zone causes a disruption in the microwave beam, changing
the echo time and triggering the lights.
PIR
These sensors detect heat. They do this by measuring the ambient temperature
of the room using several detection beams. When a difference in temperature is
detected by one of the beams, the sensor is activated, switching on the
lights. When all the beams sense the same temperature again, the lights will
switch off.
